After wiping out half the academy with a single strike, even Ryuya was left speechless.
…What exactly had he been protecting again?
Still, accidentally destroying the school… well, he had technically fulfilled a childhood dream of his… ahem…
At this moment, no one had the time to worry about the school anymore. Everyone's attention was fixed on the unconscious Kokabiel.
Rias and the others were overjoyed. They had never expected Ryuya to actually defeat Kokabiel!
Something like this…
Was simply unimaginable.
After all, Ryuya was still only a Mid-Class Devil.
If he were to advance to High-Class Devil or an even higher rank, just how terrifying would his abilities become?
Ryuya descended from the sky, his demonic wings retracting behind him. He walked up to Kokabiel and raised his sword, preparing to strike him down.
Leaving someone like this alive was simply too dangerous.
Then suddenly, a voice sounded from not too far away.
"My friend, how about leaving this criminal to me for judgment?"
Ryuya frowned slightly and looked up into the sky.
At some unknown moment, a white figure had appeared there.
Beneath the dark, distorted layers of space and within the domain covered by the ancient city, stood a figure clad entirely in radiant white armor, shining with divine brilliance. Behind him spread blue wings of light that seemed capable of tearing through the darkness, emanating a sacred aura.
Ryuya stared at the figure in the sky and spoke calmly.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Vali. I am the host of the White Dragon Emperor."
Vali introduced himself, and the title he spoke caused Rias and the others to be utterly shocked.
"The White Dragon Emperor?! He possesses one of the Longinus… Divine Dividing?!"
Hearing this, Ryuya's eyes narrowed slightly.
Having been in this world for some time, he naturally understood the classification of Sacred Gears.
They varied in strength and effect. Something like Asia's Twilight Healing was a top-tier support-type Sacred Gear, while there were also those with overwhelming offensive power.
And Divine Dividing was one of them.
Sacred Gears of this level were said to be capable of killing even gods, which was why they were called Longinus.
Though, Ryuya had just learned that God was already dead…
So perhaps it wasn't all that surprising that such weapons existed.
"What do you want?"
Ryuya fixed his gaze on Vali. Though the man's face and expression were hidden beneath his armor, he could clearly feel the intense sense of danger emanating from him.
This guy was strong.
Stronger than Kokabiel.
What the hell was going on today?
Why were beings beyond the level of High-Class Devils appearing one after another?
"Don't misunderstand. I'm only here on someone else's request. Kokabiel is, after all, a fallen angel. That person wishes for him to be judged by the fallen angels themselves. You could say it's about preserving a bit of dignity."
Ryuya narrowed his eyes.
"So you're acting on behalf of the fallen angels? Don't joke around. Do I look like the kind of idiot who lets an enemy return to their own base?"
"It seems you're still misunderstanding something. Azazel has no intention of letting this man go. He plans to seal him in hell forever. After all, someone with strength like his… his divine power would be a waste otherwise."
Vali spoke a single name—
And everyone's pupils shrank.
Azazel, the Governor-General of the Fallen Angels, a figure whose status was equivalent to that of a Maou among devils!
"Kokabiel is my war prisoner. How he's dealt with should be up to me, shouldn't it?"
Rias stepped forward and spoke coldly. Ryuya was her servant devil, so his achievements were naturally her achievements as well. There was nothing wrong with her making that claim.
More importantly, she was the younger sister of a Maou. In terms of status, she had no need to fear the Fallen Angel Governor at all. Clearly, she had stepped forward out of concern for Ryuya.
"That's something he'll discuss with your Maou directly. He said it counts as him owing your Maou a favor. Those were his exact words. If I'm not mistaken, you should have already received a message from your Maou by now."
Vali sounded slightly impatient. He had never been fond of these kinds of formal exchanges. Compared to all this, he would much rather fight Ryuya right now!
At this moment, the battle intent within him was barely contained. His burning gaze seemed capable of piercing through his mask.
Just then, Akeno received a message. She quickly informed everyone that the Maou side had indeed received a request from the Fallen Angel Governor.
Only then did Rias's expression soften. If that was the case, then it was something she could accept.
Ryuya, naturally, had no objections.
Though he still wanted to personally finish off Kokabiel, handing him over now held far greater value than simply killing him out of anger. He knew exactly which choice to make.
Bang!
He kicked Kokabiel, sending the unconscious fallen angel rolling to Vali's feet.
"He's yours."
"Heh… thanks. If the timing weren't so inconvenient, I'd really like to have a proper match with you. A warrior capable of defeating Kokabiel… your strength is impressive, even more than I expected."
With a casual motion, Vali drew Kokabiel toward him using demonic power, grabbing him by the collar and lifting him like a lifeless dog.
"So you're a battle maniac too?" Ryuya asked indifferently.
"I just enjoy fighting. I'm not as extreme as that guy," Vali replied with disdain.
"We'll definitely have a chance in the future."
Ryuya answered calmly.
Vali nodded. "In that case, I'll take my leave. Looks like you still have quite a troublesome problem to deal with here. As a token of thanks, I'll give you a reminder… Kokabiel's magic circle isn't that easy to break. What you're seeing now is only the surface."
With that, Vali turned into a streak of light and flew away.
Rias and the others immediately turned their attention back to the location of the magic circle. They had been trying to stop it all this time, but even after Kokabiel's defeat, the magic circle still hadn't ceased?
"What's going on…?"
"It's the power of the Holy Swords. That fool caused this by accident," Ryuya said calmly. He had already noticed it.
After the Holy Swords were shattered, their power had all been absorbed into the magic circle.
Perhaps even Kokabiel himself hadn't realized it. Or maybe he had, but since his goal was maximum destruction, he simply didn't care.
"You should all move back. While I still have some strength left, I'll handle this."
Ryuya spoke lightly, intending to resolve the magic circle on his own.
"…Are you sure you'll be okay?" Rias and the others couldn't help but worry. After everything that had happened today, Ryuya had been carrying the burden almost the entire time, turning the tide again and again.
"It's nothing serious. At worst, I'll just overdraw some life force. It's not like it's the first time."
Ryuya said it casually, completely unfazed. With Asia's Twilight Healing, he had the confidence to be this reckless…
But Rias and the others felt a sharp pang in their hearts.
Even if what he said was true…
That still meant pain.
