 Naboo

The afternoon sun descended over the green fields of Naboo, radiating that familiar energy of life and hope—something the Empire, despite its grip on the system, could never truly suppress. From the terrace of her home, Annileen watched the sky, a cup of tea in her hands, as the birds of the region flew in perfect formation, unaware of the chaos consuming the galaxy. The calm was broken by the Imperial HoloNet

— Breaking news! Alderaan destroyed by its own superweapon! The Emperor mourns the loss of such a noble world! Story developing!

She closed her eyes, holding her breath. Memories surfaced—her time there, her studies, the long nights of conversation with her classmates, the laughter of her children exploring the floating museums. But that was long past... She had been on Naboo for years now. Perhaps following that intuition had been more than coincidence—a sign of the Force, guided by the one who had once been her friend, and her unspoken love.

— Ben...

Silence returned. Then she felt it—not a voice, not a memory, but a gentle presence: distant, yet familiar. Like a warm echo in her chest. Like an invisible gaze from far, far away. She hadn't seen him since that day in the desert, when he walked toward the dunes and she toward the stars. No letters. No messages. Only memories. But every now and then, like today, Annileen could feel him—not with her senses, but with something deeper, quieter. And whenever it happened, her whole being filled with peace. Just like that evening on Tatooine—sitting together on the roof of her shop, sharing silence as the twin suns sank beyond the horizon...

Sometimes she wondered if he was still alive—if he had fulfilled that mysterious purpose he never spoke of. Or if he had simply faded away, like the ancient guardians of the past. She didn't know if she would ever see him again. But she knew this: she owed him her life. Had it not been for his insistence, she would still be trapped in that hell she once called "home," tending to gangs, kidnappers, and bounty hunters in Dannar's Claim.

And as the quiet evening settled over Naboo, Annileen smiled...

Because even in the midst of a galaxy at war, she could still feel him.

And that was enough.
