Chapter 1 - The one where he was awake

it was a cloudy day and stormy sky! or something like that, i can't be bothered to remember... the only thing i remember is that it was an ordinary day and a relatively quite start for the people in our cozy little society... well almost for everyone.

'Son of Jor-El!! I'm late again, like, what the actual fuck?'

I exclaimed to myself, while flipping the pillows and covers off like a mad man searching for the will to live, and panicking even more as I quickly glanced at the clock on the wall. 'I'm pretty sure I woke up on time this morning. How the fuck did I manage to get late again?'

I don't want to make assumptions, but it might have something to do with the fact that you were blasting 'Danger Zone' on repeat and jumping around instead of getting ready.

Ignoring the smug and irritating voice in my head, I ran upstairs toward my room and looked through my study table once again.

'Not now, Chat. Where are my keys? Where did I put those fucking keys!?'

Maybe if you put your stuff in its proper place instead of throwing the shit like you're trying to do target practice with flies as targets, then maybe you'll find your stuff faster.

picking up the jacket I wore a night before, i turned it's pockets inside out, but still found nothing. 'Not now, chat! Preach when I'm in my aesthetic class, not now.'

after looking through my clothes one last time, i threw them away in frustration as i exclaimed 'I swear to everything that is holy on this god's green earth, I will blow up—ooh, there it is!' my eyes lit up, as i finally found the sneaky fuckers right beside my pillow, god knows what the fuck they were even doing in my bed...

'Well... I still have plenty of time,' I murmured quietly to myself with a relieved expression as i looked at the time on my wristwatch.

You've got 16 minutes before the class begins. I know we're fast, but I don't think we're that fast.

picking up my bag, which i don't even know why i was carrying with me, seeing as it was compeletly empty, i climbed downstairs as fast as i could and ran out of the main door, slamming it shut behind me. 'Well, it has never stopped us before!'

locking up the house, i was walking towards the elevator, but changed my mind midway through it 'you know what? let's take the stairs; it'll be faster, and I won't have to listen to Nastula's snide comments about the importance of tradition for the fifth time this bloody week' Shuddering at the thought, I changed my direction, and began making my way down the building.

This is a good idea; maybe you should make this part of your daily routine. You really need to start exercising. I mean, you're two sandwiches away from gaining a double chin.

Reaching the ground floor, I quickly made my way toward my bike. 'Chat, shut it, I really don't need to hear this right now.'

noticing dust on the speedometer i quickly wiped it with my hand. inserting the ignition key I quickly got on my bike. 'God, this new cleaner is really bad at his job'

You can always try cleaning your bike yourself, you know.

Shifting gears, I quickly started making my way towards my college as fast as I could. 'Yeah, maybe I will... But right now I need to reach college in 13 minutes, so shush!'

You're going to cover 8 km in 13 minutes in Indian traffic... Like, that's ever gonna happen.

Finally, reaching the main road, I gunned it as hard as i could, and merged in the bustling morning traffic. 'A little trust here, chat; come on, you're supposed to be my conscience'

I am your conscience; that's why it is my sworn duty to kick you while you're down.

Weaving through the morning traffic, I increased my bike's speed as much as i could while doging the jaywalkers on the road

'You're a ball of sunshine today; what's the matter'

It's a little hard to be optimistic and happy when you're riding like a raging lunatic. Watch where you're going!

avoiding making a road kill out of an elderly man on a bicycle, I shifted down a gear and increased my speed. 'I'm watching! This is not the first time I'm riding a bike; I have been doing this shit for 7 years'

Yeah, I know I was there, getting tortured.

'oh come on! It wasn't that bad'

Do I need to remind you about your 19th birthday?

'Okay, okay, I get your point, but still, it was just once'

And it was enough for me.

I sped down a straight road, weaving through a few slow cars and bikes, while noticing a big truck ahead of me. 'Hey, tell me something. Is that truck looking a little too... wobbly to you?'

The first sound observation you've made all morning—let's not get too close to it.

Glancing at the digital clock on the speedometer, I slightly tightened my grip on the accelerator.

'I wasn't planning to. I don't know why you think that I'm some kind of masochist. I really don't have a death wish, you know'

You say that, but all I see is us getting closer to that cursed truck!

Noticing how right chat is, I steered clear of it and started speeding past it.

'Fuckin hell, we only have 6 minutes left; you reckon we can do 100 here?'

Don't you dare! This entire road is riddled wit -

ignoring Chat, I increased the speed and started ripping through the traffic.

'What's the worst that'll happen, huh? A few loose nuts is a price I'm willing to make it to college Chat.'

The worst that'll happen is us hitting a fucking pothole at 100 km/h here and kissing the road at an alarming speed!

Looking for the traffic, I unfortunately missed a few potholes on the road.

'Don't jinx it; anyway, do you thin-'

Ohhh fuuuckkk…..

In case you didn't connect the dots, I was actually flying. It felt like i was soaring through the air at the speed of Mach-fuck.

It was pretty weird, going from feeling completely weightless to sharp pain... everywhere. It was a struggle just to turn my head in the direction where my bike should be, but unfortunately it was a little hard to see through the cracked glass of my helmet. hell it was hard to even breath at this moment. I also probably have a good concussion quite an a lot of fractures, and judging by the sound that my bike made on impact, I'm pretty sure it's totaled. At least I'm still in one piece, but I think I shouldn't move right now.

'Fuckin hell that hurts like a bitch'

…..What's coming will be even more painful, I reckon.

I hate when Chat is right, but I hate it even more when he goes all cryptic on me.

'What's coming again?'

On your left

Turning my head left, I see a big wall, and strangely it was getting bigger... huh…? That's a weird wall, with headlights and a windscreen on it… And why is it wobbl… oh... It's Truck-Kun!

"Motherfu-"
