Chapter 18 - ch 18

These green, ping-pong ball-like objects came fiercely, but caused no damage.

"This is probably the main body's attack, right? Do you know where the enemy is?"

"Yue?"

Hiyama Daisuke asked without turning his head, but he didn't receive an answer from Yue.

"Run... Master!"

At some point, Yue's hand was already pointed at Hiyama, and wind gathered in her hand.

In an instant, a powerful Wind Claw shot from her hand, heading towards Hiyama!

However, at this moment, Hiyama was wearing the Adamantite Armor, which had the highest defense among all his equipment.

Previously, Alisha used it to block the Jupiter Magic Cluster Cannon of the Ghost Ruler Guild.

This small Wind Claw couldn't even scratch its surface.

Unfortunately, the person who launched the Wind Claw didn't think so.

"Ugh... I'm sorry!"

Yue's usual expressionless face was gone, replaced by fear, regret, pain, and other emotions.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry, Master, please don't hate Yue...." Yue apologized repeatedly.

Hiyama looked at her head and immediately understood.

Indeed, a flower had bloomed on her head as well, a vibrant red rose!

"Yue is also being controlled!" Hiyama realized.

"It's alright, Yue."

"I won't blame you, don't cry." Hiyama comforted her.

Although she would act spoiled towards Hiyama, deep down, she was still that insecure Vampire Princess!

This wasn't Yue's fault; she was just being controlled.

At this moment, a monster that was a fusion of a human female and a plant emerged from the shadows. Hiyama had found it in the library; this monster was called an Anaun.

In mythology, most such monsters appeared as beautiful women and were not hostile to humans; some legends even said that treating them kindly would bring good fortune.

But the one before him was nothing like the myth.

Its appearance was indeed that of a human female, but its face was incredibly ugly, as if its inner ugliness overflowed onto its exterior. Countless vines twisted like tentacles, looking very disgusting, and its mouth was inexplicably split open, laughing incessantly.

"Equip Magic: Robe of the Distant Past."

Hiyama activated Equip Magic, summoning a light kimono, but with a huge bow in his hand.

This bow could shoot Arrows of Exorcism, capable of breaking all curses and evil creatures, making it perfect for dealing with it.

Hiyama was about to attack, but this ugly Anaun used Yue as a human shield, standing between the two.

"Master... I'm sorry."

Yue bit her lip, showing a regretful expression. She found it unbearable to be a burden again.

She must be struggling to resist right now.

As she apologized, blood flowed from her mouth; her sharp canines had bitten through her lip. It was unclear if it was due to regret or to break the curse, or both.

"Hehehe."

This Anaun let out a terrifying laugh, while simultaneously shooting green balls at Hiyama.

The green balls didn't directly attack Hiyama, but rather burst in mid-air. Although invisible to the naked eye, the spores within the green balls must have scattered into the air.

However, no flower appeared on Hiyama's head like it did on Yue's.

The Anaun put away its sinister smile, revealing a surprised expression. It seemed the spores had no effect on this person.

Resistance: 1600

With his high resistance and the passive skill Poison Resistance, the Anaun's spores could hardly affect him.

However, even so, the current situation hadn't improved much.

"Master, don't mind me!"

Yue shouted loudly.

At this point, the Anaun began to control her again, releasing magic like Wind Claw and fireballs.

Rather than being a burden, she'd rather Hiyama attack her along with the monster.

"Oh, really?"

Hiyama replied calmly.

Then, he drew his bow, pulled an arrow, and shot.

In one fluid motion.

The Arrow of Exorcism transformed into a streak of light, tearing through the air and grazing Yue's cheek by a hair's breadth, then slamming into the Anaun!

Yue blinked.

She gently confirmed with both hands that the small flower on her head was gone due to the Anaun's death.

"Are you alright?" Hiyama walked over leisurely and asked.

"Master, you actually attacked so decisively...." Yue puffed out her cheeks, looking a bit unhappy.

"Didn't you say it was okay?"

Hiyama asked back with a puzzled expression.

"But... you could have at least hesitated a little..." Yue whispered.

"Huh? What did you say?"

"Nothing! Nothing at all!"

.....

Several days had passed since the Anaun was killed. Finally, Hiyama and Yue arrived at the stairs to the hundredth floor.

Status values continued to increase only by eating monsters for the first time, but skills didn't increase much. If it was a boss-level monster, sometimes they could still be acquired, but consuming regular monsters on this floor no longer seemed to increase them.

Just as monsters preying on each other wouldn't gain skills, perhaps as status values increased and the body transformed, it would become more difficult to acquire them.

Soon after, Hiyama and Yue, having completed all preparations, headed towards the stairs leading downstairs.

Chapter 26: Hydra!

That floor was a vast space supported by countless colossal pillars, each five meters in diameter, adorned with spiral patterns and carvings resembling intertwining tree vines. The pillars were neatly arranged and uniformly spaced.

The ceiling was approximately thirty meters high, and the ground was flat, without unevenness, and clean. It was a space that evoked a sense of solemnity.

As Hiyama and Yue were captivated by the sight, they stepped into the space. Immediately, all the pillars emitted a faint glow.

The two instantly came to their senses, seeing the pillars light up sequentially from their position inwards.

However, nothing unusual happened.

So, the two decided to continue forward. Hiyama activated all his perception skills as he walked.

After walking two hundred meters, they found a dead end ahead. No, not a dead end, but a giant door.

A massive double-leaf door, over ten meters in height, adorned with exquisite carvings, particularly impressive were the patterns depicted at each vertex of a heptagonal shape.

"Is this where the rebels live, Master?" Yue recalled Hiyama's previous explanation of the origin of the Seven Great Labyrinths.

"Yes," Hiyama nodded.

In ancient times, seven divine kin attempted to slay gods and destroy the world.

They were called "Rebels."

Ultimately, their plan failed, and these seven fled to the ends of the world, which are now the Seven Great Labyrinths.

This Olucus Great Labyrinth is one of them, built by one of these seven. And at the deepest part of the abyss, there exists the dwelling place of this Rebel.

Yue looked at Hiyama.

According to her master, the Rebel's dwelling contained Spatial magic circle, through which they could return to the surface.

Yue didn't know why Hiyama knew such things; she simply believed him completely, as always.

"Finally, the final boss battle."

As Hiyama passed between the last pillars, at that very moment!

In the space of about thirty meters between the door and Hiyama, a giant magic circle appeared, emitting a dark red glow, pulsating like a heartbeat.

Hiyama remembered that magic circle.

This magic circle was the same trap that had pushed them to the brink of despair, which Hiyama had seen on the day he fell into the abyss.

However, compared to the Behemoth's magic circle, which was about ten meters in diameter, the magic circle before them was three times larger, and its spell formula was more complex and precise.

The magic circle shone even brighter, then finally burst forth with light as if exploding!

A monster thirty meters long, with six heads and long necks, each of its six foreheads imprinted with different colored patterns, sharp teeth, and dark red eyes!

It was the mythical monster—Hydra!

"Grrrooooaaahhhhh!!!"

It let out a strange-sounding shriek, its six pairs of eyes locking onto Hiyama and Yue, as if declaring it would punish the foolish invaders.

The killing intent it emitted would likely cause a normal person's heart to stop instantly.

The head with the red pattern simultaneously opened its huge mouth, spewing terrifying flames. The scale of those flames could be described as a wall of fire.

"Equip Magic: Armor of the Flame Emperor!"

Hiyama activated Equip Magic, donning the Flame Emperor Armor, which had maximum fire resistance.

This armor could even defend against Natsu's flames, so naturally, it had extraordinary resistance against the Hydra's magical flames.

Hiyama endured the Hydra's spewed magical flames, leaping high and brandishing the giant Flame Sword in his hand!

"Flame Emperor: Crimson Burst Sword!"

The Flame Sword cleanly pierced into the Hydra's red snake head, slaying it with one strike!

"One down."

Hiyama landed on the ground.

"Master, be careful!"

At that moment, he heard Yue's warning.

"Grrrooo!"
