Chapter 222: Minato is Injured
"With Sasori's current strength, he's still far from being able to kill the Third Kazekage." Walking amidst the yellow sand, Masahiko pondered as he went.
"Will he really use poison for a sneak attack?"
Roughly calculating, there was less than a year left before Sasori killed the Third Kazekage. It was unlikely he would have any qualitative leap in such a short time.
"True, no matter how much of a genius Sasori is, what level can a fifteen-year-old reach?"
Masahiko recalled his first encounter with Madara. Without the cheat-like Susanoo, the 17-year-old Madara back then would probably have been beaten up by the current Third Kazekage.
"Without a protagonist halo, a 15-year-old is at most close to S-rank level. Nagato probably isn't much stronger either." He felt that the current 13-year-old Nagato had about the same strength as Sasori.
Thinking of this, Masahiko suddenly paused.
"Not necessarily. The owner of this toy might be the strongest genius." Masahiko looked at the extra sealing scroll in his chest pocket.
The yellow sand was gradually left behind as Masahiko walked out of the Land of Wind and returned to the Land of Fire.
However, Masahiko didn't continue east. Instead, he turned southeast; he wanted to visit the Fire Capital.
Although Masahiko hoped Nawaki's child would be a boy, if it turned out to be a girl... he couldn't favor boys over girls. He went there to see if there were any toys suitable for girls.
Having changed back into normal clothes and reverted to his original appearance, Masahiko Uzumaki appearing in the Fire Capital posed no problem. The reason was awkward: likely no one would recognize him. He hadn't been to the Fire Capital in ages.
The relationship between a Ninja Village and its host country was complementary. As Konoha grew stronger, the Land of Fire naturally flourished as well.
The appearance of the capital had completely changed. Masahiko couldn't even find the gate... finally, he just passed through the walls.
He visited several doll shops... well, they should be called plush toy shops here. Masahiko was quite satisfied. There were no Barbie dolls, and the dolls weren't exquisite; most were in the shape of puppies and kittens.
Masahiko didn't buy a single one. He suddenly felt that if it was a girl, he could buy a kitten and send it over; it should be much better than a doll.
Without disturbing anyone, Masahiko Uzumaki's half-day trip to the Fire Capital ended, and this gift-buying trip was officially declared over.
"Let's go back and see how my daughter is doing."
Masahiko shook his head with a smile. He had been out for more than half a month on this trip, from early February to late February.
He used the identity of Hagoromo to enter Konoha again, but unexpectedly, he was stopped before he could even return to the shop.
"What's the matter, Sakumo? I'm in a hurry to go home and see my daughter."
Sakumo looked left and right, then whispered, "Elder Masahiko, Minato Namikaze was injured. He is currently in the Konoha Hospital."
Masahiko was startled. Without immediately asking for the reason, he hurriedly turned towards the Konoha Hospital. "I understand."
By the time he arrived at the Konoha Hospital, Masahiko had reverted to his original appearance. The chakra fluctuations of many acquaintances were inside.
"Great-Great-Grandpa, you're back." Tsunade was the first to greet him. Her expression wasn't grave, which made Masahiko breathe a slight sigh of relief. It seemed Minato's problem wasn't big.
"What happened to Minato?" Only then did he voice his doubts. In his mind, unless Minato's opponent was one of those few limited individuals, it should be very difficult for him to get injured after mastering the Flying Thunder God Technique.
"Was it because he had to protect Obito and the other two?" This was the only possibility he could think of.
Tsunade shook her head. "It was Akatsuki."
She led Masahiko into a ward.
"Akatsuki?" Masahiko was shocked. Why would they move against Minato? And the only one who could probably hurt Minato was the Akatsuki leader.
"Great-Great-Grandpa Masahiko!" Kushina's shout rang in his ears.
Masahiko nodded, then frowned slightly. Kushina looked very haggard, as if she hadn't rested for a long time.
" is Minato's injury that serious?"
"Elder Masahiko." Kakashi's voice came, followed by the stumbling greetings of Rin and Obito. This was their first time encountering Masahiko in this identity.
Masahiko nodded gravely and looked at Minato, who was still unconscious on the hospital bed.
Layers of bandages were wrapped around his waist and abdomen. Masahiko could vaguely sense a curved penetrating wound on his body.
"This shape... a scythe? What happened? Did Hanzo join the Akatsuki?" The first figure that appeared in Masahiko's mind was Hanzo. Ordinary people couldn't hurt the current Minato.
"It wasn't Hanzo." Tsunade shook her head and signaled Kakashi to speak.
"It was a hateful crazy old man!" Before Kakashi could speak, Obito shouted out.
"Obito..." Rin gently pulled at Obito. "Sorry, Elder Masahiko."
Masahiko looked at the two familiar apprentices acting cautiously in front of his original appearance, and his serious expression relaxed.
Although Minato's injury was severe, it wasn't life-threatening. At most, he would need to recuperate for half a month or a month. There was no problem, so his mood wasn't too anxious anymore.
"What, little girl, apologizing for him? What's the relationship between you two?" Masahiko teased with a smile.
Rin was slightly startled, feeling that Masahiko's tone was somewhat familiar.
"Great-Great-Grandpa, how can you still be in the mood to joke?" Kushina said anxiously.
Masahiko sighed. "I roughly understand Minato's situation. It's nothing serious. Just let him rest for a while. He probably got careless this time; the ninja world has all sorts of strange jutsu."
Hearing Obito say the words "crazy old man," Masahiko suddenly remembered the intelligence Kakuzu had brought back. The Akatsuki organization currently had a member from the Jashin cult. Minato likely encountered him.
Masahiko could even roughly figure out the battle process. Minato probably relaxed slightly after piercing the opponent's vitals and had his blood taken by the opponent.
That kind of immortality characteristic should be appearing in the ninja world for the first time. No one should have seen the forbidden jutsu Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood before. It wasn't surprising that Minato was injured due to momentary carelessness. After all, the Flying Thunder God wasn't invincible either.
"Where did this Jashin cult come from?" This was the question Masahiko wanted to know the most.
In the original story, this name only came from Hidan's mouth, and Hidan was clearly the only believer.
"Is this extra one a result of me changing the plot somewhere?" Masahiko didn't feel he had influenced the Jashin cult anywhere.
After pausing for a while, Masahiko looked at Kushina. "Go back and rest. Minato is fine. He should wake up in a day or two."
Kushina shook her head. "I'll wait for him to wake up."
Masahiko looked at the other three children; they all had the same stubborn expression.
He sighed. "I really owe you guys."
"Idlers get out. I'm going to use a special medical ninjutsu. No peeking!"
When he said this, the expression on Masahiko's old face was extremely awkward...
