If you enjoy this type of novel where the mc uses his modern thinking to dealt dimension reduction attack on people from the 19th century then this novel is enjoyable.
There's a little bit of china glazing in a form of a chinese quote and mc defending an overseas chinese(but this could be interpreted as the mc trying to be nice), it could be easily skipped. If you like novels like "british writer" you might enjoy this novel.
