Chapter 2 - My Urgent wife

Episode 2: The Family Invasion

Kunle stood there frozen, wondering how his Monday morning turned into an episode of a family telenovela.

Amara's "urgent situation" was about to explode like akara inside hot oil.

Before he could process anything, Amara's mother stormed into the compound like a commander.

"Amara! Where is this your husband you refused to introduce to me properly?" she shouted.

Kunle almost fainted. Husband? Me?

Amara gave him the "just-play-along-I-beg-you" eyes.

Behind her mother, Amara's father walked in calmly, holding his cap like a man who already regretted coming.

"My daughter, are you sure this is the man?" he whispered.

"Yes, daddy, this is him," Amara said with a shaky smile.

Kunle's own father joined the group, adjusting his glasses.

"Kunle, why am I hearing wedding talk from strangers before hearing it from my own son?"

And then, the final explosion arrived—Kunle's mother-in-law (or almost mother-in-law), glaring at everyone, including birds flying by.

"Everybody sit down! We must settle this marriage today!"

Kunle whispered to Amara, "This your urgent matter is turning to fire."

Amara whispered back, "Please… just help me survive today."

Then Kunle's mother asked the big question:

"Amara, why did you tell your parents you are married to my son when you people are not?"

The whole compound went silent.

Amara took a deep breath, ready to confess—

when suddenly her phone rang loudly.

She looked at it… and her eyes widened.

"Oh no… it's HIM," she whispered.

Kunle leaned closer. "Who is him?"

Amara swallowed.

"The REAL reason why I urgently needed a fake husband."

Everyone stared at her.

Kunle's father adjusted his glasses.

Her mother gasped.

Kunle's mother crossed her arms.

Kunle whispered, "Amara, explain. Who is he?"

Amara looked up and said slowly:

"My ex… the one I ran away from…

He's coming here."
