After preparing everything, the response team went down.
In the sect leaders compound, the sect leader was standing and looking at the town burning slowly, the bell tolls could be heard even from here. The town comes in the path taken by one of the team and they should be reaching it soon.
It has been fifteen minutes since the response team went down and the situation in the town does not seem to be going any better. After some time the bell tolls have also stopped, but now the whole town could be seen burning. It can be seen that things were not going well.
'Why hasn't the team reached the town yet. It seems something have gone wrong, but their have been no news from other teams as well.' The sect leader thought.
'But what went wrong, that they couldn't even report anything.' Just as he thought this their was a loud rumbling and the whole mountain shook. He rushed out in a hurry.
"What's happening?" he shouted.
"The sect protection array is being attacked from multiple sides." one off the elders replied hurriedly.
"Who is attacking?" just as this was asked, a loud sound came from above, shaking the mountain again. Everybody looked up to see a huge fifty meters hulking beastmen with a wolf head attacking the array.
"Beastmen. It's a beastmen." someone shouted.
"Not good." an Elder said.
"It's the Shadow Fang clan." the sect leader spoke grimly.

Fifteen minutes ago.
One of the team was moving east towards the town, lead by a core formation elder. Disciples formed groups and were discussing the recent happenings while moving forward.
"What do you think is going on with this beast tides?" a disciple asked.
"How would we know? Since the elder didn't say anything" another replied.
"Its said that beast tides are happening everywhere on the continent" another said.
"Yes, even the Morby town is being attacked. Julius has reported the attack and there is that bell sound coming from the town." someone said.
"It's a good thing, after this beast tides are resolved we can make plenty of things from the beast carcass, even the beast bloods could be used for body tempering." other said.
"Haha! and we will earn huge amount of merit from these beast tides." one of the disciple said.
They were nearing the town.
"Stop." came the elder's voice, after that he began looking here and there.
Everyone became tense and began looking around with the elder.
Soon they began to notice the creeping darkness that was enclosing on them.
"Everybody, spread out and be alert. Something is amiss." the elder said.
Very soon the darkness came near.
"What's happening." a disciple muttered quietly.
Soon muffled growling sound could be heard from the darkness.
"Be ready, raise the dao field." the elder commanded.
Everyone complied, rousing their earth dao creating an earthly brilliance around them. If someone looked from the sky it would look like a torch was casting a light brown coloured light, enveloping them and pushing the creeping darkness.
As soon as they roused their dao field beasts came running and roaring toward them from all sides.
"Attack together." The elder shouted.
Everyone attacked together with earth spikes from the ground impaling the beasts, but before they could relax another round of beasts came running from the darkness.
Soon the area was echoing with the sound of fighting.
Within a few moment the area was covered with the beast carcasses, but there was no sign of beast stopping.
The Elder was standing on a mount of earth that he made and watching over the situation.
And the situation was not looking good to him as their were still no signs of the one spreading the darkness and this couldn't be the work of beasts as they can't control their daos like Humans.
"It's beastmen's." he muttered under his breath.
"It can't go on like this otherwise our qi would deplete even before we fight the beastmen who is behind the darkness."
"I should inform the sect about this but, I don't think it will reach the sect by how organized things are." after much thought he decided to move towards the sect for a chance of living as moving away would reduce the dao enhancement and after our qi is depleted we would be forfeiting life as the beast men would not let anyone alive after so much was done.
" Everyone form an arrow formation we make way towards the sect." After shouting he jumped ahead to lead the group.
He brought out his sword and swung it forcefully forward using his qi with dao force of everyone almost using half of his qi.
A long earthly sword shadow was formed almost 500m long which he thrust forcefully into the darkness almost causing the darkness to tear apart completely and killing the beasts in its path and cleared a path for them. But it still couldn't fully tear a path in the darkness, and before long the darkness was filling in fast.
Without needing to tell them, everybody ran forward fast their speed were increased due to dao enhancement.
"We can make it." Someone shouted causing joy among the disciples. As they were getting happy they were getting happy they saw a huge 20m beast coming out of nowhere from the darkness ahead and soon more figures came out causing them to stop. There were seven figures ahead and seven more figures surrounding them giving out menacing beastly auras causing shivers in the spine of the disciples, as this was their first time seeing a beastmen for most of the disciples as there were no beastmen on their continent.
The Beastmen blocking their path were of varying sizes with different cultivation realm except for the leading figure with a stick and of core formation realm, everyone else was from 10m to 15m of size each with Foundation establishment cultivation realm. They were huge creatures with bulky bodies and wolf head covered in fur with yellow beastly eyes.
"They are big." Someone couldn't help but say.
"Shadow Fang clan" the elder spoke gravely recognizing them.
