Chapter 4 - Chapter 04: Business

Ye tian after leaving the cave, he went back to his room. He was sitting in his room with a thoughtful expression.

The room was well decorated, it was one of the rooms in North wing of the peak. The room was clean and neat likely done by wu liang as expect her no one comes to his room.

What should I do…

Ye tian had a troubled expression in his face.

It seems I can't improve my cultivation with the world law suppression, and if I forcefully tried to use my peak realm power the consequences would be severe.

He wasn't sure. I have to hide it from wu liang.

Ye tian was confident in his abilities as long as there's no unknown variables, he was certain he could fight evenly upto true origin realm. Currently his realm was suppressed to profound truth realm. But he still able to use his other peak realm technique though there power would be greatly reduced.

Hmm…let's leave it for later. I'm sure wu Liang will think of something. What should I do with about the urgent needs. Ah! We shouldn't have rushed out our escape. Wu Liang is right about me being hot-headed.

***

I did said that I would make money but what should I do.

Next day, While thinking about various problems in his mind ye tian arrived at a large pavilion for trading various cultivation related products. It The cloud veil cities largest trading company. The counters we're all blooming with customers. After looking around some time he choose the counter leading to the ore section.

It's for the list he was given by wu Liang.

She seemed troubled other day . Something must have happened for her to be anxious. Not that it matters to me.

After staying in the line for a whole hour he finally reached the counter. He handed out the jade where all the needed ores name were written. After examining the list the counter staff replied with a affirmative response. He hurriedly started telling the price of each ores according to the listed amount given to him.

Suddenly a old voice directed at him came. It was gentle and professional without any hint of hostility.

"Young man are you purchasing all this ores?"

Ye tian looked over to the old man and his eyebrows twitched slightly. The old man standing upright and his posture was full of authority.

Harmony Realm cultivator!

The old man continued with the same tone, "is it for… refining?"

Ye tian was already surprised, it was his first encounter with a Harmony realm master. Even if he was not afraid of him, he decided to stay conscious. He previously heard from Ling Yuahan that in this star highest cultivation is peak Harmony realm and already encountering one was what surprised him.

It's said that for thousands of years there's no one able to ascend above Harmony realm. Many tried to but ultimately failed and met there end in the process.

Seeing The old man the counter staff quickly went and bow to him. His face was flustered and surprised by the sudden visit of this person. He then started to introduce The old man to ye tian.

" Honoured customer, It's our trading pavilion's pavilion master, Ji tong ."

The old man ignored the staff and asked again,

"Young man you didn't answered my question!"

"Seeing you bought this much materials it must be the case."

Huh! Why's this old man so interested in this?

Ye tian was confused with the sudden surge of questions.

"Young man, we also purchase artifacts. If you have any artifact to sale we can sit down and discuss."

Hmm…it was impossible for him to know that I have artifacts. Did he guessed it only through seeing me purchase materials.

"Why do you think, I have artifacts for sale?"

Ye tian wasn't wary of him or anything! It was just his curiosity. He was already planned to sell the three artifacts he got from wu chen. So getting a buyer was actually a good thing for him.

But the old man's answer didn't meet his high hopes. The old man with crafty smile replied, " You are a guest in this oldman's store and this old man say's this to his every guest."

This old man's crafty but surpressed smile felt like he has done this type of thing before and was well-versed.

"Ahem! I happen to have some artifacts for sale" ye tian stop playing his physiological game with the oldman and changed the subject. Ye tian was clearly aware that this wasn't his thing and if he drag this he would only lose and don't gain anything.

"Oh! It seems this old man's vision hasn't gone bad yet" seeing his guess was spot on the old pavilion master gave a small smile.

"Hahah! Young man come this way… well discuss it while sitting " he enthusiastically waved his hand to show the way .

It was a private room with fairy luxurious decoration with sitting arrangement at the middle. Just like one would expect from a large trade pavilion.

The room was closed from all sides leaving the door. It's was parfect place for privacy related talks with no fear for leaks.

"It's a private room of our trade pavilion. It's especially made for secured privacy and private transactions. It's well secured with formations, so do not worry"

"The private room guarantee's privacy of the transaction by blocking all outside devine senses."

The old man explained everything related to the transaction and the private room.

Hmm…to some it up, it was a very secure room where even if he attacks me and kills me, no body would know. Well as long as he succeeds that is.

Ye tian come to a conclusion very quickly.

Seeing ye tian's change of expression ji tong quickly added,

"You don't have to think anything bad about it. We don't threaten our customers. Many customers don't like the prying eyes of others thats why this room was made."

The old pavilion master thought ye tian was worried about him seeing his expression change after hearing about the room's function. To lighten the mood he tried to change the subject and said,

" So young man what kind of artifact do you have? What do you want to sell? What grade is it"

Ye tian with a wave of his hand took out three artifacts from his ring.

The three artifacts were left on the table brimming with spirit qi. Seeing the artifacts laying in the table pavilion master grab one of them and started to examine with deep eyes. After seeing all of the artifacts multiple times he looked at ye tian and said,

"hmmm —

This old man isn't proficient in artifacts refining but I can tell, these artifacts are top quality amongst their grade and these are refined by the same person"

After thinking sometime while playing with his beard he looked at ye tian again,

"So, what price are you looking for?"

Seeing him asking about price ye tian didn't give him a quick answer. He wasn't not sure what price he should ask for as he still didn't had clear understanding of prices here. After thinking sometime he decided to come straight forward,

" I don't really understand the local price, how about you offer a suitable amount just like how you purchase items normally."

I did told him to offer a price, but I'm gonna refuse if the price is low. I can't take a loss here if wu Liang knows I'll get a nagging.

"Huh he dares ask me to offer a price? Is he not afraid of getting ripped off?…this man's…courage isn't small"

The old man stared at ye tian for some time not saying anything. Eyes were curled like reading other parties intention intently.

He then opened his mouth, " Two of the items here were spirit grade low tier and one is high tier with top quality. So how about six thousand for spirit grade low tier and eight thousand for spirit grade high tier?"

A total of twenty thousand high rank spirit stones! Should I say deal? Or not! I have no idea how much it cost in making…

Seeing ye tian didn't say anything The old man mouth fell. It's like the anxious of having something you desparately want this close to yourself but not knowing if it would be yours or not at the end.

He… not waiting for ye tian's response said," if you feel the price is too low we can discuss it further."

Huh! I can demand more?

After hearing the words ye tian make himself comfortable by leaning on the table and said pretensiously,

"Well, i feel a little dissatisfied… I understand that must want to make a profit but I can't make a lose for myself . How about this you add the things I bought previously in it … and it's a done deal."

Hearing ye tian's offer the old man said his follow suit "Young man you are quite asute, the total price of the things you bought are not cheap. There's at least three thousand high grade spirit stones."

"Alright! Inorder to make friends it's not a bad deal. Good… if you have other artifacts to sell choose our trading pavilion first."

The old said while confirming the deal. He reached his hands to ye tian for a hand shake as a symbol of trust and long-lasting friendship.

"Deal" ye tian also responded to the hand shake.

After finishing the deal ye tian and The old man left the private room. Ye tian took his purchased materials from the counter and left the pavilion.

Seeing ye tian leaving the pavilion master said with smile from distance " come again".

After ye tian left the staff from earlier came to the old man. The old man was smiling. Seeing the pavilion master smile he confusingly asked, " pavilion master… we suffer lose in this transaction!"

"Giving him more than three thousand high rank spirit stones worth of materials , it means we won't be able to make much money from the artifacts."

"Haha! You don't understand…this young man; he bought refining materials previously from a different shops. Today isn't the first time his buying and he also had tree top quality artifacts. Most the shops in cloud veil city are ours."

"It's not even that many days since last he bought those and he came again…what does that mean?"

Pavilion master Ji tong asked with a mysterious tone to the staff standing next to him.

" Wha does this mean?" The staff not understanding the intention of the words The old man said asked back to him.

"hahahah! Don't understand? Young man you are still inexperienced. Next time he shows up inform me immediately. And if you can't reach me take care of his thing with highest care, it doesn't matter if some loss occurs in the process as along as we setisfy him."

"I going out for a walk, look after the shop." After finishing his words pavilion master Ji tong also left leaving the staff standing in deze.

***

Ji Tong straight went into a quiet manor, his steps quick, almost urgent. His hand clutched the bundle of artifacts .

"Grandmaster Cheng Shan, look at these: tell me what you think." His voice carried a tight edge, the urgency of a man who had got his hands onto something rare antique.

Inside, Cheng Shan sat in the front hall. His beard flowed so long it brushed against his stomach, and his posture was one of unhurried gravity. He barely lifted his gaze at first, but at Ji Tong's tone, his brows twitched.

"Bring them here," he said, voice low, worn by age, carrying the weight of someone used to being obeyed.

Ji Tong placed the artifacts on the table with care then stepped back, waiting.

Cheng Shan took them one by one. His gnarled fingers traced runes and seams with practiced precision, his spiritual sense sinking deep into the cores. A flicker of astonishment crossed his weathered face, though he masked it quickly behind the calm of an old master.

When he finally spoke, his voice deepened, like stone grinding against stone.

"These three artifacts were refined by a Starlight-grade refiner."

He exhaled, slow and heavy, as if forcing out disbelief. His eyes sharpened, cutting into Ji Tong like a blade. "Ah… their technique is not worse than this old master's."

Ji Tong stiffened. That look, sharp, unwavering, almost accusing…left no room for doubt. He'd spent decades in the Pavilion, learned to read faces as easily as books. Cheng Shan's words weren't hollow praise. They were truth.

"On par with you, Grandmaster?" Ji Tong asked, voice dropping with genuine surprise. His heart thudded in his chest. He hadn't expected this.

Cheng Shan leaned back, beard swaying slightly, eyes narrowing with thought. His tone shifted to something probing, like a surgeon's scalpel.

"Who refined them? Someone in Cloud Veil City has such skills, yet we remain un knowledgeable about him?"

Ji Tong swallowed, shaking his head. His voice, softer now, carried the cautious honesty of a man. Though in rank his superior to Cheng shan but the later was a rifinener and Starlight grade at that, one has to know that across the whole star the number of Starlight grade refiners can be counted in one hand. There was an obvious gap between them.

"I don't know who. A young man brought them in today to sell; nothing more than that."

For the first time, Cheng Shan chuckled. A sound like dry leaves rubbing together. His gaze drifted back to the artifacts, but his voice carried the weight of command.

"Good! He will definitely come again. In this difficult times, prudence is the key. Such a master can only be win over by us before anyone and mustn't be offended"

***

In an unknown darkness beyond planets and stars, adrift in the boundless void, a small realm floated with its own rhythm. This was the very place Ye Tian had once shattered open, tearing his way out into the vast worlds.

A weary sigh broke the silence.

"Finally… the core is repaired. Luckily, the damage wasn't severe; only a few fractures."

The voice belonged to an elderly man stepping through the grand front doors. His steps were slow, deliberate, the weight of years and responsibilities clinging to him. His robes trailing against the polished stone floor. He made his way to the great hall, where a circle of seats curved around like an eternal council. Taking his place, he glanced at the others already waiting.

"Old man," an elderly woman's soft but sharp tone cut the air, "stop sighing and give the report."

He coughed lightly, feigning composure. "Ahem. As I said, not much harm done, only cracked a corner of the core. That brat was too ruthless. Honestly… if he had simply told us he wanted to leave, would we have stopped him?"

A scoff came from the other side of the circle, belonging to a man with strikingly handsome features. His gaze gleamed, edged with irony. "Says the one who opposed it at every turn. No wonder he left without a word."

Laughter rippled, light and mocking. A woman in a crane-patterned robe hid her smile behind a folding fan. Despite the silver in her hair, her elegance betrayed no sign of age.

The five head seats were filled, each occupied by figures who had long carried the mantle of guardianship. Their presence alone pressed against the chamber, like five pillars holding up the very heavens.

Then, the woman seated at the center spoke. Her voice was calm, warm, yet carried an authority that silenced the room. "Enough. There's no meaning in dwelling on this. We taught him everything we could. For more than four thousand years we guided that child… but a day like this was always destined to come. He has chosen his own path. It is not an ending ,only a departure. We will meet again."

Her words carried the faintest quiver, sadness tucked away beneath dignity. The hall quieted, her certainty calming the undercurrent of grief that hung over them.

But one voice still broke through, laced with worry. "And what of that thing within him? Even here, it would sometimes stir when his emotions ran high. Now, without our supervision…what if it erupts?"

The central figure's gaze softened, her tone resolute. "Do not fret. That child's destiny is vast. There is no need for speculation. If the burden within him is dangerous, it is also part of his destiny. Speculation will not change what is bound to happen. In time, all will unfold as it must."

A reluctant silence followed. At last, one of them muttered, "Very well. If you say so."

The woman at the center straightened, her expression turning firm once more. "Then it is decided. Announce the truth of the recent turmoil to the entire secret realm. There is no need to hide anything any longer."

The council chamber sank into stillness. Outside, the small realm drifted on in the dark, carrying with it memories of the boy who had broken free.
