Chapter 17 - Game over?

He turned his eyes around, trying to see if anyone else could see the blue window.

Albeit most knights, even his officers except Halden had helmets, their heads weren't necessarily turned towards my window and instead were overlooking the foggy battlefield.

A scream came from their right from the battlefield, then several others and before you'd snap your fingers ten almost bare barbarians jumped the knight rolling in the mud, who had previously cut his own wrist off.

"COMMANDER-" A knight yelled to Halden "We must help them!"

Another one muttered "help? Enter that? We don't know who is even fighting except 'Barbarians..' It's suicidal to enter the mud with our cavalry anyway..?

The knight on the ground rolled onto his back, swung his sword in a blind not hitting anyone.

As Granbell blinked, the knight's arm was cut off, thrown away rolling close to them.

His gut rolled, while his instinct was almost most certainly telling to,

Run away, turn back, fuck- Am I supposed to fight these? I already saw this happen in the game.. Why is it so- Blee-

He almost let out a gasp, almost kneeled over wanting to puke. Closing his eyes he slapped his own cheek, Halden noticed and stood silent while the knights murmured something among themselves- "Has he gone crazy from seeing the battlefield?"

'A tyrant would never be disgusted by this, or fear his death. Get it together..'

"YAAAAAH" A barbarian screamed,

another one jumped onto the knight, his hands clawing at the knight's neck.

Two knights on the battlefield approached their comrade, one barbarian noticed and pointed at them with a scream "SHIYAAAAA-" both were jumped by five barbarians each in the following five seconds.

From Granbell's right side he heard rustling, "THAT'S IT WE ARE GOING CAPTAIN- THESE FOOLS!!" Granbell turned his head to see Halden holding out his sword horizontally. "NONE will pass, until our lord demands so!"

His eyes slightly twitched looking at the scene, still he followed loyalty and discipline.

'That's right.. I'm not the only one disgusted by this, still they want to enter this fray on the blind? Brave.. Or rather, as expected of Hollowed dogs?'

He thought mockingly, being the knight's group which originally kills Granbell in the game they were almost always his hated enemy.

"THEN MY LORD, ALLOW US TO CHARGE!? WHAT IS THE WAIT FOR?"

'Even if I'd pass the tutorial and win, I'd execute every single one of them. Thus out of anger I nicknamed them, Hollowed dogs. So, wouldn't it be alright if I sent them to a certain death?'

he thought for a bit, his eyes searching for signs of some sort of hold on the battlefield.

'No.. This time.. I need your strength.'

Finally they stopped at one place, to the western part of the battlefield, slightly southern albeit through the thick fog barely visible; several blue flags were waving in the slight wind.

"Don't be a fool, knight."

his head jerked towards Granbell, Halden slightly raised his eyebrow "My lord!?" The knight yelled out.

He glanced at his system, more precisely the item box he gained earlier.

Nox. The item box, open it.

'Understood, nya!~'

A black box dropped in front of him,

'Touch the box, Nya~~'

he raised his arm and touched the box with his right hand, a system window appeared,

[ OPEN FRAGMENT OF OLD POWER - Y/N? ]

His hand raised slightly to touch yes, the box vigorously shook and opened from it three words hovered over, in front of the system.

[ CHOOSE ONE ]

Something useful, something useful, something useful..

Flame Arrow - dissipate enemies within long range.

Alright.. D rank spell if I remember correctly?

'that's right!'

Arghh.. Not only useless, but I was never a good of an archer to begin with!

Compassion of explosion - Throw large scale explosives.

Oh!? Alright, that's an A rank spell. It was one of my favorites!

Hidden rose - Be able to listen to conversations from large scale distant locations [ Passive skill. User gains 25% more perceptiveness. ]

Hidden rose?

His eyes hovered over the last skill, as a veteran player he had never heard of such spell.

"My lord?" Halden asked, staring at him as Granbell appeared to hover his fingers in the air. "Has he actually gone mad..?" An officer whispered.

Granbell hovered his finger over the ability he wanted to pick, he stared at the barbarians who seemed to have noticed them as well.

They pointed at them, yelling in a strange tongue and screaming away all while showcasing the severed heads of the knights they killed.

"THESE BARBARIC, THEY ARE MOCKIN- LORD- M'LORD!?"

A knight yelled out as Granbell gave away in a full sprint down the slope.

Almost slipping on the mud, he barely ran thanks to not wearing armor

Had I not left that rusty armor behind, this would've been bad.. Anyhow- I'm sorry, Mr. Barbarian. I'll take your head for the starters, to feel the power run through my blood.

 "COMMANDER!?

" they yelled out to Halden who was taken slightly aback, "C-CHARGE! WITH OUR LORD, KILL THOSE BARBARIANS!"

"AAAGHH!"

They all followed after Granbell

"SHIYAHHHHHH- TUREK TU!"

A barbarian screamed and ran towards Granbell, five others followed after him.

As they got closer and closer, Granbell opened his fist as the barbarian swung his dagger,

he barely ducked under it and embraced the barbarian's face with his palm,

flickers of explosion and warmth embraced the barbarian's face.

"MY LORD!!" A knight yelled out from behind, the one who was dying to charge already. "GET BEHIND US GRANBELL!" Halden yelled out,

Then through his arm he felt warmth move, slowly running beyond his neck down to the palm.

 "Compassion of explosion."

BAM

Granbell's face got splattered by blood, flickers of doubt made him flinch slightly,

taking a step back as he overlooked the fact how just disgusting it would be to get blood on his face, no - even further.

To murder someone.

"MY LORD!?!" A knight yelled, his hearing buzzed as realization set at him. This wasn't a game, he just murdered someone.

I wanted to, I wanted to feel out the mana, so why am I? Why am I trembling!?

He took a deep breath in as his vision blurred, redness fell from above his forehead, dripping into his eyecaps.

Fuck- Fuck- Fuck- This is disguting, I feel Uueegh fuck.

His legs trembled, his arms followed after. He had done this multiple, hundreds of times even in the game.

Then, "SHIYAAAAAH-" Another barbarian jumped from his left side at him, he didn't have time to react.

WHY AM I TREMBLING!? I NEED TO DODGE-

He expected his head to be cut off, just this time he knew he wouldn't see a simple - GAME OVER.

But pitch darkness.
