Chapter 2 - the mundane morning

John woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring in his ear. He groggily got out of bed, rubbed the sleep from his eyes, and began his daily routine. He lived a simple life in a quiet neighborhood, working a 9-to-5 job and spending his free time watching TV or playing video games. It was a predictable, comfortable existence.

He showered, dressed, and headed downstairs to grab a bowl of cereal. His kitchen was small but cozy, with a sunny window overlooking the backyard. John ate his breakfast while scrolling through his phone, catching up on the latest news and social media.

After finishing his breakfast, John grabbed his bag and headed out the door. He locked it behind him, feeling a slight sense of routine and normalcy. The sun was shining, and the air was crisp and clean. It was going to be a good day.

John walked to his car, a reliable old sedan, and drove to work. He listened to music and hummed along to the beat, feeling relatively carefree. He pulled into the office parking lot, grabbed his bag, and headed inside.

At the office, John settled into his cubicle and began his workday. He was an accountant, and his days were filled with numbers and spreadsheets. It wasn't the most exciting job, but it paid the bills and allowed him to live a comfortable life.

As the morning wore on, John's coworkers began to trickle in, chatting and laughing with each other. John exchanged pleasantries and smiled, feeling like a part of the group.
