Chapter 1 - The war for Independe.

War, war never changes. That was what Ulysses told him back when they first met, as a 22-year-old courier. After their clash at The Divide, Six sometimes agreed with Ulysses and found common ground with the seasoned courier. The Divide was the location where the two messengers, both couriers, fought beneath an ancient flag at the edge of the world.

Six has ventured into locations that many would doubt, such as the ancient facility in Big MT, also known to the Mojave natives as the Big Empty, or endured the horrors of the Sierra Madre casino, where he helped out Christine Royce, dog/god, and Dean Domino. In return, the couriers assist Six in cornering and luring Elijah into the vault, where he is trapped forever; however, Six manages to steal all 37 gold bars from the vault before Father Elijah arrives. Once inside the vault, the casino does not let go.

Or when he confronted face-to-face the infamous burned man, Joshua Graham. Six helped Joshua Graham defend Zion Valley from the White Legs and later convinced Joshua Graham to spare the lives of those who surrendered, especially those of the White Legs' leader, Salt-Upon-Wounds.

Seven years… Seven long years have passed since he was pulled out of his early grave. It has been six years since he contributed to the transformation of the Mojave. Six years have passed since he broke free from the haunted remnants of the Sierra Madre, rescued the land of Zion, uncovered the mysteries of the Big MT, and made his way back to the crumbling wasteland of the Divide. Five years after he kicked out the majority of the NRC, only a handful chose to remain. Those from the NCR who chose to stay were cautious due to the constant battles they had to participate in. Legion was gone from the Mojave after getting rid of both Caesar and Legate Lanius. It has been over six years since the mysterious passing of Mr. House.

All of this started when Benny, that jackass son of a bitch, shot him in the head over a damn platinum poker chip from the Lucky 38 and left him for dead in the Goodsprings cemetery.

Six gazed out at the vast expanse of the Big Empty from the balcony of the Sink, clad in his formidable Riot Gear. Upon his initial arrival, he found himself imprisoned and held captive. Now he was the overseer in a way, managing the deranged science of the Think Tank and releasing only what he considered harmless into the wasteland. The Big Empty turned into a sanctuary where he could unwind and showcase his actual skills.

Six began to think about his friends. The first was that of a certain wanderer of the Mojave, Rose of Sharon Cassidy, often referred to as Cass. In the aftermath of the war against the NCR and Legion, both Six and Cass, thoroughly inebriated, found themselves entwined in a night of unexpected intimacy. At first, they blamed the dozen empty alcohol bottles, but as the memories of that wild and indulgent night resurfaced, they proceeded with unrestrained determination. For the next several days, both Six and Cass experienced endless nights of sex. After weeks of crazy sex days and nights, Cass made the choice to travel once again and join the Happy Trails Caravan and has been journeying alongside them for years. Rumors have reached Six's ears that she has been spotted alongside a young boy, his tan, light brown skin and striking purple eyes reminiscent of his, yet adorned with Cass's vibrant red hair.

Boone, Arcade, and even Raul chose to remain in Vegas, sharing their knowledge with the locals in their unique fields. Boone established a group with The Misfits to create a paramilitary unit that would collaborate with the Securitrons' enforcers. Arcade thought in the sciences and occasionally held classes on self-governance. Raul guided a fresh wave of mechanics and repair experts while also teaming up with Boone and his squads from time to time.

Just before the battle at Hoover Dam, Veronica joined The Followers, but she disappeared without any trace a year later. While The Follower and The Brotherhood remain completely unaware of her whereabouts, reports of astonishingly repaired technology have surfaced. Only the Courier knew of her travels.

Rex had started a family of cyberdogs with Roxie, and they lent their paws to defend settlements across the Mojave, especially that of Goodsprings. One day, Rex and Roxie brought Six a non-cyberdog German Shepherd puppy. Six remembers stories from the East Coast of a dog helping people out in the Capitol Wasteland and in Boston, so he named him Dogmeat after the dog from the stories.

Lily continued getting treatment for her mental health while ED-E remained by her side. It had been almost a year since he had gotten any new reports from his friends in Sierra Madre. Daniel, Joshua, Waking Cloud, and Follows-Chalk were still in Zion. To everyone's surprise, both Waking Cloud and Follows-Chalk marry and now have a son and a daughter together.

Ulysses, well, Ulysses was still Ulysses. He could be found at the entrances toward The Divide. Once in a while, Six would meet with Ulysses to hear one of his philosophical speeches.

Six had grown accustomed to the bizarre occurrences that seemed to follow him everywhere. In the brief period following his acceptance of the courier position, he took a bullet to the skull. Engaged in battles against colossal ants, fiery geckos, and fearsome deathclaws. He battled alongside various factions, including the New California Republic, the Boomers, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Great Khans, the remnants of the Enclave, raiders, slavers, and the forces of Caesar's Legion. Immediately following the defeat of the Legion, Six switched strategies and unleashed upon the NCR, aided by Yes Man and the newly upgraded Securitron forces.

The Courier, with the aid of Yes Man, drove both the Legion and the NCR from Hoover Dam, securing New Vegas' independence from both factions. With Mr. House out of the picture, they diverted part of the Securitron army to the Strip to maintain order. They swiftly put an end to any chaos on the streets. Chaos became uncertainty, then acceptance, with minimal loss of life. New Vegas assumed its position as an independent power in the Mojave.

So what happened after the war, you might ask?

Supporting the ideals of independence, the Courier was recognized as the man responsible for a truly free New Vegas. He broke Mr. House's tyranny, ensuring that neither Caesar's Legion nor the NCR would ever regain control over New Vegas. Following the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, Freeside came to be known as one of the more stable areas in the region. Ironically, NCR refugees found Freeside safer than most of the rest of New Vegas. After the Courier ensured New Vegas remained free, the Followers at first found that Independent New Vegas was even more unstable and violent than before. But thanks to the Kings, Boone squad, and Securitron, the violence quickly dies down, becoming more stable.

With New Vegas' independence formally declared, Goodsprings thrived. More travelers stopped by Goodsprings on their way to and from the Strip, and the locals grew prosperous from the traffic. Cass lived to see the Courier bring down three armies, and by her count, that was three more than she'd expected. She'd kept quiet about that, though.

During the Battle of Hoover Dam, the Great Khans quickly evacuated Red Rock Canyon and headed north and east into the plains of Wyoming. There, they reconnected with the Followers of the Apocalypse and rebuilt their strength. Bolstered by ancient knowledge of governance, economics, and transportation, they carved a mighty empire out of the ruins of the Northwest.

Thanks to the Courier and Lily, a cure for the nightkin's schizophrenia was found shortly after Doctor Henry's experiment concluded. Nightkin and other super mutants in the wasteland flocked to Jacobstown, and the town became known as a haven where a mutant could find peace. Lyli returnd to Jacobstwon and encouraged by the Courier to take her medication regularly, Lily's mind eventually attained a semblance of clarity. Her memories dulled by the pills, she cast aside the recording of her grandchildren, no longer remembering its significance.

Though Novac was a low-priority target for the Legion, many of Novac's citizens died in its defense. In the weeks that followed, several Bright Followers returned to Novac to help restore its defenses, allowing it to remain independent of the NCR.

After Hoover Dam, the leaderless Powder Gangers at the Correctional Facility vanished into the wastes, leaving the prison empty. The correctional facility became another abandoned ruin in the wasteland, its carcass occasionally picked over by enterprising prospectors. With Cooke dead, the Powder Gangers at Vault 19 fell apart. Those who weren't destroyed by the Courier fled into the hills or attempted to work their way back through the Mojave Wasteland. Few survived.

With their leaders destroyed by the Courier, the Fiends scattered throughout the wasteland. Without the organization of Motor-Runner, Cook-Cook, Violet, and Driver Nephi, they were easy prey.

After Hoover Dam, Sheriff Meyers runs Primm with his own style of frontier justice. He deals with most folks fairly, but now and then someone winds up dead with little to no evidence against them.

Despite distinguishing themselves during the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, the rangers' victory was short-lived due to the Courier's interference. Chief Hanlon personally directed the evacuation of the rangers to Mojave Outpost as they fell back into NCR territory. Bitter over the waste of life in the Mojave, Hanlon stepped down from his post. After a campaign in which he denounced Oliver and Kimball's hawkish, imperialist ways, Hanlon was elected as the senator of Redding. Before leaving, Chief Hanlon left behind a special gift for the courier: his own personal Ranger Sequoia.

After their bold arrival at Hoover Dam, the Remnants disappeared as quickly as they came. Legends of their power spread throughout the southwest, a reminder of why people once feared the sight of vertibirds in the sky.

And so the Courier's road came to an end... for now. As his adventures in the Mojave Wasteland have come to an end, a new world will come calling for him as the fighting continued, blood was spilled, and many lived and died—just as they had in the Old World. Because war... war never changes.
