Chapter 5 - The operation

★ *«CHAPTER FIVE* »★

"Damon and Zayne." Caiden's voice cut through the room, cold and commanding.

"You two will handle that fool who calls himself class president."

Zayne stretched lazily as he rose from his seat, cracking his neck.

"Why must I be the one to handle that fool? I'm already feeling sorry for the guy," he muttered with a grin.

Damon smirked beside him.

"Leave it to us. We'll deal with him."

Caiden nodded once before turning to the other pair.

"Tristan. Adrian. You'll take care of the drug-smuggling situation." His tone sharpened.

"Be careful. The police must not catch you this time. Getting arrested again would make it the third time this week, and I'm tired of spending money and going through the stress of bailing you out."

His eyes locked specifically on Tristan.

"Especially you. No screw-ups this time."

Tristan lifted both hands in defense.

"Relax, man. We've got this under control."

"Good." Caiden clapped his hands once and stood, tying the lace of his shoe with practiced ease.

"Since everything is settled, we end it here. You all know I've got a date with my girl tonight, and I don't want any emergency calls ruining my evening."

Caiden stood, dusting off his black jacket

"Let's get outta here"

The boys began to disperse. The warehouse light flickered overhead, casting long shadow across the concrete floor.

"Caiden, you sure you don't need backup?" Damon teased

"It's a date, not a war. I'll be fine." Caiden smirked.

He pushed open the rusty metal door, stepping out into the cool evening breeze. He mounted his sleek black bike, put on his helmet and zoomed off. Behind him, the gang members watched as he vanished into the thin air.

Zayne shoved his hand into his pocket

"Alright! Let's go make the class president shed tears" he said, throwing an arm over Damon's shoulder.

"I would prefer him not shedding tears though" Damon smirked.

"I want him shedding blood"

The two laughed hard as they disappeared into the dark alley leading back to campus.

---

Tristan leaned against Adrian's car, tapping his foot furiously.

"Why the hell is this motherfucker not here" he said angrily.

" He's been taking too much of our time. We ain't gonna spend eternity here for God's sake"

Adrian locked the trunk filled with sealed packages.

"I really think you should calm down Tristan, it's not like we are in hurry and you know this particular customer is one of our VIPs"

"exactly why he thinks he can behave anyhow, let's just deal with him and put him in his damn place" Tristan thundered.

" Nah, I don't think it's up to that, let's just be patient." " And remember what caiden said about you causing trouble, don't disappoint him this time" Adrian said patting Tristan shoulders

A man in a suit appeared from afar, carrying with him a suit case.

"Oh, I think he is here" Adrian muttered as he brought out a well wrapped package from the car.

---

Caiden bike lamp displayed a white light that Pierced through the thick darkness of the night.

He stopped in front of a quiet cafe that beamed with colourful golden lights. He came down from his bike as he removed his helmet.

His eyes swept across like that of a hunter that lost the track of a deer.

He shoved his hand into his pocket and brought out his phone. He started dialing a number.

Yo babe, where are you?" he said immediately his call was answered.

"Oh! You're here already"

"Oh I see, you are the one in red right"

" I'll catch up soon"

He dipped his phone into his pocket, brought out a well packaged gift, he then started head toward a restaurant.

"Late?" He asked, tilting his head, a teasing glint in his eyes.

"I don't call this late, I call it a dramatic entrance."

She rolled her eyes savagely, unable to hide the smile tugging at her lips.

Caiden chuckled low, his gaze never leaving hers.

"Don't worry... tonight, you're experiencing the greatest drama ever" they bothe laughed.

He reached across the table, sliding the gift toward her.

"Here. I got this for you."

She raised her eyebrows, curious and excited at the same time. She carefully opened the wrapping. Inside the beautifully wrapped box was a gold necklace, it's pendant catching the soft light of the cafe.

She stood and embrace him excitedly.

"Caiden.... this is.... beautiful."

He leaned back with a wide smile around his lips, his eyes scanning her excitement like a predator that saw its prey.

She sat back own as her finger brush the necklace gently in excitement. Caiden rested his elbow on the table with his eyes fixed on her.

"So," she raised her eyebrows, " what's this 'greatest drama ever' you are talking about?"

"You don't have to rush, it's a surprise" he said pouring himself Some drinks.

"I'm just curious, I really want to know" she stared at him.

" So, " he said, leaning forward, " tell me how your day went"

Suddenly, caiden felt something strange, a power beyond his knowledge.

"Diane" he called within whispers "stay alert, something dangerous is coming"

" What do you mean?" She asked curiously.

" WOW" a very heavy voice, filled with power cut in abruptly.

"So fascinating for you to feel my presence within seconds, you must be pretty strong"

" Wait" Diane said pointing at the mysterious being " I know you.... you must be ETHAN"

" WHAT? " caiden snapped.

"what do you mean you know him, how and where do you know him?" He asked in total confusion.

"I don't directly know him, my friends do" she explained.

"They show me his pictures, talking about how handsome he looks. "

" And definitely with what I'm seeing right now, I'm not disappointed" she winked.

" Wait!" Caiden shouted." What the hell are you doing Diane, this guy here is obviously here to kill us and you are busy flirting?"

"Oh no, I think you get it all wrong" Ethan said

"I'm not here to kill her, I'm here to rescue her from you demon"

" What?" "Demon?" "who is the demon?........ "
