But then – ping! – a red light suddenly starts flashing in the rocket.
The large screen at the front flickers briefly and a message appears.
Max leans forward and reads aloud.
'We need your help! There's a big problem on Maths Planet!'
Lily looks at him with wide eyes.
'Maths Planet?' she asks. 'Oh no, hopefully there aren't any number monsters...'
Then she bravely calls out to the rocket:
'Quick! Fly us to Maths Planet!'
'Understood!' replies the rocket cheerfully.
A gentle humming sound can be heard, stars race by – and Max, Lily and Bingo are already heading for Maths Planet.
The little colourful rocket comes flying out of space with a cheerful whoosh! Its colourful lights flash in all the colours of the rainbow – red, blue, yellow, green and even glittering silver!
Inside, the little astronauts giggle because the rocket makes a funny 'beep-beep-beep' sound with every movement.
Slowly, the Maths Planet appears below them – round, glittering and colourful! Numbers sparkle everywhere, and the rivers look like long, silver rulers winding through colourful hills. The clouds are made of candyfloss and shaped like plus signs.
'Hold on tight! We're about to land!' calls the rocket in its squeaky robot voice.
Very carefully, it folds out its little silver landing legs – clack, clack, clack! – and aligns itself with the glittering ground, which looks like a giant abacus.
Then there's a puff! – a soft, glittering smoke rises, and the rocket touches down gently. Little sparks dance around it.
The three of them are unbuckled and their helmets are removed.
But before the hatch opens, the rocket's cheerful computer voice spoke to Lily. "Lily, take this special little rainbow stone.
It will help you solve the problem on the maths planet."
Lily looks surprised at the stone in her hand, which begins to glow softly.
Max frowns.
'A stone is supposed to help us?' he asks sceptically.
But before they can think about it any further, a cheerful ting sound!
The hatch opens with a hiss, and a warm, sparkling breeze blows in. It smells of vanilla. This time no ladder extends, instead, a colourful slide glides out of the rocket, straight down to the planet's surface.
Outside, the paths sparkle and tiny rake stars fly. The little rocket rocks back and forth a little, as if to say: 'Here we are! Ready for a new maths adventure!'
The three astronauts slide cheerful down the slide and at the end of the slide the numbers on the ground begin to glow cheerfully: '3 – 2 – 1 – Welcome!'
'Come on!' Lily exclaims enthusiastically. 'This is even better!'
Bingo barks happily and slides down first, his ears flapping in the wind.
Max and Lily laugh and slide down after him – straight into their next adventure on the mysterious maths planet. As soon as Max, Lily and Bingo land at the bottom, they stare in amazement, their mouths agape.
They've never seen anything like this before!
The Maths Planet is huge – and there are numbers everywhere!
The trees have digits for leaves, which rustle in the wind like paper.
The clouds in the sky look like white plus signs, and on the ground flows a glittering stream, on whose wave's little balls with numbers dance.
Bingo sniffs curiously at a bush – and the bush giggles!
'Hihi, that tickles!' a voice out of the bush said.
'The bush can talk?!' Lily said in surprise.
'But of course!' replies a friendly voice behind them.
They turn around – and there stands a strange creature:
Round like a ball, with a body made of numbers and a hat shaped like a ruler. His eyes shine like little calculators.
'Welcome to Maths Planet!' he says in a deep but friendly voice.
'I am Professor Wondercount – and we have a huge problem!'
Max nods. 'Yes, we got your message. What happened?'
Professor Wondercount sighs deeply and adjusts his ruler hat.
'Well,' he begins, 'on Maths Planet, everyone used numbers every day—to count, to tell time, and to build things. But one morning, something very strange happened. When the sun came up, all the numbers were just… gone!' I tried to count my pencils, but there were no numbers to use. I looked at my watch, but the numbers had vanished from there too. It was as if a magic wind had blown through Maths Planet during the night and swept all the numbers away. No one saw where they went. Every single number—had disappeared without a trace. Now, everyone on Maths Planet is confused and worried, because nothing is working right without numbers.'
'The numbers have simply vanished!' cries Professor Wondercount in despair. 'Poof! Gone! As if they had disappeared into thin air! No one, no two, no three – not even zero remains!'
Professor Wondercount sighs again. 'Well... without numbers, everything is in chaos! The clocks no longer know what time it is, the calculators have stopped working, and even the children can't play their favourite games – because no one knows who won anymore!'
Lily can't help but giggle. 'Then it's impossible to even count sweets!'
'Exactly!' replies Professor Wondercount, nodding seriously. 'And that's really bad – especially just before the big number festival!'
Max looks at the rainbow stone in Lily's hand, which is slowly beginning to glow brighter.
'Maybe stone is giving us a clue?'
'I think so too,' says Professor Wondercount, hopeful.
The rainbow stone is not just a glowing guide—it's a magical, interactive helper. As Max, Lily, Bingo and Professor Wondercount walk through the Numbers Forest, the stone in Lily's hand begins to glow whenever they reach a special place. The glow gets brighter and warmer, and then, right in front of them, the stone projects shimmering words and numbers into the air—like a floating, colourful riddle written in light.
Sometimes, the riddle appears as sparkling letters above a gate, sometimes as glowing symbols on the ground, or even as a gentle voice that echoes through the trees. The stone might also create a path of light, leading them to the next puzzle spot. Each time they solve a riddle, the stone flashes joyfully and the missing number appears and jumps back to its place.
As they come to the forest gate, the rainbow stone starts glowing and the forest gate sparkles with light. The rainbow stone in Lily's hand start glowing even brighter and projects the first riddle in the air above the entrance.
Max reads the riddle out loud: 'I am small, but if you add me to myself, you will hear me twice. Who am I?'
Lily thinks and shouts out: 'One plus one is two, the answer is two!'
With the answer appears the number 2 from behind the forest gate. Number 2 jumps up and down for joy and jumps back to its place.
The four keep walking deeper into the forest, by the shimmering river, the stone in Lily's hand shines a stream of light onto the surface of the river. It looks like the light dances on the water, and the next puzzle appears.
I am even, round, and double of four. Count me right, and I'll be here!
Max says: 'Double of four is eight! The answer is Eight.'
With a big splash the number 8 jumps out of the water and shakes itself dry before it jumps back to his place.
Meanwhile Professor Wondercount seems more hopeful the the number festival can be saved in time.
Bingo sniff a new scent which he keeps following and Max, Lily and Professor Wondercount walk behind him.
Max giggles and says: 'Looks like Bingo found the third place.'
Lily dances in excitement, tabs Bingo gently over his head and says: great job Bingo. But what is this noise?'
In a sunny clearing, the numbers One and Ten are arguing. Bingo is confused and barks quietly. As if he would say: 'stop arguing!'
The stone in Lily's hand starts lightning again brighter and brighter and jumps out of Lily's hand, swirling around the two arguing numbers so fast that no one can see the numbers anymore. Out of the spinning circle comes a loud voice revealing the third puzzle.
'If you have me, you get five. Who am I?'
Lily thinks and shouts out loud: 'the number is ten!'
The number 10 appears, ending the argument between 1 and 10 and the rainbow stone jumps back into Lily's hand.
While walking along the path, Max finds a cave and jumps for joy. He loves to explore new places. Lily is a little taken back by the darkness in the cave but Max takes her hand and whispers in her ear: 'don't be afraid little sis, I will protect you, Professor Wondercount is behind us and Bingo guides us.' With the nice warm words from Max, Lily follows him into the cave.
Straight after the rainbow stone beginn to glow and shine the light like a torch in Lily's hand. The four come to a big stone gate and the rainbow stone in Lily's hand projects the last puzzle with floating, white words onto the stone gate.
Professor Wondercount reads out loud: 'I am nothing, but everything starts with me. Without me, there are no numbers. Who am I?'
Max and Lily solve the puzzle together and shout at the same time: 'Zero!' and the number 0 shines into view. With that the big stone gate opens and all the missing numbers come out.
After Max, Lily, and Bingo help Professor Wondercount bring all the numbers back to the Math Planet, the excitement is huge. Bingo runs in circles around the numbers, wagging his tail so fast it looks like a propeller. Max and Lily dance and sing with joy, their laughter echoing across the Numbers Forest. Professor Wondercount can hardly believe his eyes—all his numbers are back, just in time for the Number Festival. He beams with pride and says to Max, Lily, and Bingo:
"Thank you so much, you saved all the numbers! Without you, our Number Festival would have been cancelled."
Together, the three special guests—Max, Lily, and Bingo—walk with Professor Wondercount and all the numbers back to Number Town. The town square is decorated with colorful banners, balloons shaped like numbers, and sparkling lights. The Number Festival is the biggest celebration on the Math Planet. It happens once a year, when all the numbers gather to play games, solve puzzles, and show how important each one is.
At the festival, there are fun activities for everyone:
Number Parade: All the numbers march through the town, each showing off their special talents. The number Eight does cartwheels, the number Two jumps rope, and Zero spins in a circle. Puzzle Booths: Kids and numbers team up to solve riddles and win prizes. Dancing and Singing: Max, Lily, and Bingo join the numbers in a big dance, singing songs about counting and friendship. Number Cake: There's a giant cake with candles for every number, and everyone gets a slice.
The festival is full of laughter, music, and games. Max, Lily, and Bingo are honored as heroes, and Professor Wondercount gives them shiny medals shaped like stars. As the sun sets, fireworks light up the sky in the shapes of numbers, and everyone cheers for the three special guests who saved the day.
The Number Festival is a joyful celebration of teamwork, clever thinking, and the magic of numbers—thanks to Max, Lily, and Bingo.
'That was really great today!' exclaims Lily.
'And the most important thing we learned,' says Max, looking up at the stars, 'is that every number counts - no matter how big or small.'
At that moment, the familiar voice of the little colourful rocket spoke again. 'Max, Lily, Bingo - come inside! It is time to fly back home!'
The hatch of the rocket opened and a colourful climbing wall slides out and beside there is a dog lift for Bingo. Max and Lily wave their new friends on the Math Planet goodbye before they climb into their rocket. Bingo wags his tail and follows behind in his dog lift.
As soon as Max, Lily and Bingo are all inside the little colourful rocket, the hatch closes quietly. Soft, magical seat bels gently wrap around them, and their space helmets fit perfectly - almost like magic! The rocket begins to hum, and slowly, it lifts off into the starry sky, heading back home.
