CHAPTER 132 – The First Root Chooses a New Vessel

Here is another chapters for my lovelies.....

Xiao Xi hurled herself toward Gu, chaos threads whipping around her in a panic-fueled attempt to stabilize the rift around him.

"DON'T COME ANY CLOSER—! YOU'LL BREAK THE PRISON—AND THEN WE'LL BOTH BE DELETED—"

"—HE WON'T DIE.

IF HE COMES CLOSER, HE WON'T DIE."

The First Root's thunderous voice, cold and triumphant, stopped her cold.

Xiao Xi spun around, confusion battling dread.

"What do you mean?! He's collapsing!"

The First Root's shadowy form strained violently against the violet chains, radiating a profound, greedy desire.

"HIS SOUL IS COMPATIBLE.

MORE THAN YOURS EVER WAS.

HE IS THE PERFECT VESSEL."

Gu froze mid-step, his gold light dimming slightly.

"Compatible with what?"

"WITH ME.

I WAS MEANT TO INHABIT HIS SOUL."

Xiao Xi's blood ran cold, the truth of the Root Protagonist's initial warnings rushing back to her.

"No… He's lying, Yanzhou!"

The First Root continued, voice deepening in raw, ancient hunger.

"YOU SEALED ME AROUND YOURSELF, BUT YOU ARE INCOMPLETE.

YOUR CHAOS IS FLAWED BECAUSE OF YOUR HUMANITY.

YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO EXIST."

"BUT HIM—"

It leaned forward, chains rattling violently, the sheer scale of the shadow overwhelming the void.

"—HE WAS.

HE WAS MY DESIGNED ANCHOR TO YOUR ORIGINAL WORLD, BEFORE YOU INTERVENED."

Gu's jaw tightened, his control wavering.

"You're lying. I was just a character."

"AM I?" A low, mocking chuckle.

"YOU WALKED BETWEEN WORLDS LONG BEFORE SHE DID.

YOU BROKE THE BARRIER FOR HER.

YOUR SOUL IS OF THE CORE, NOT OF FLESH."

Xiao Xi shook her head desperately, waving her hands in frantic denial.

"No—Yanzhou—don't listen! He's trying to break your will!"

But the First Root was relentless, driving the fatal truth home.

"GIVE ME HIM.

LET ME MERGE WITH WHAT WAS ALWAYS MINE.

HIS SOUL WILL STABILIZE MY FORM.

HE IS THE TRUE ROOT."

Xiao Xi screamed, a sound of absolute anguish.

"HE'S NOT YOURS! HE IS MINE!"

Gu stepped in front of her, shielding her with his faltering body, his gold light flickering.

His voice was quiet, small in the massive void.

"Xiao Xi… Is this why you cut the bond? Is this why you didn't tell me?"

She trembled, the silent confession agonizing.

"…Yes.

Because I knew this was the risk.

I had to save you from him."

Gu inhaled sharply.

Not with anger—but with crushing, silent heartbreak.

CHAPTER 133 – Xiao Xi Confesses

The void pulsed with the deadly, unstable tension of two destinies colliding.

Gu slowly raised his hand, brushing his translucent fingers across Xiao Xi's cheek, ignoring the raw energy that flared between them.

"Why… why didn't you tell me? Why keep this fatal choice a secret?"

Tears spilled from her eyes, dissolving instantly into the void.

"Because… because you're not supposed to be here! Because if he merges with you, you'll disappear! Your soul will be erased and I would have lost you forever!"

Gu whispered, his voice laced with the pain of the revelation.

"And you thought I'd run away from a little erasure?"

"I thought you'd live," she sobbed.

"I thought you'd be free of this mess I created!"

Gu pulled her into his arms, despite the crushing pain fracturing his form with every second he spent in the void.

His voice was hoarse, a broken vow.

"I don't want to live without you.

And I don't want freedom without you. Never again."

Xiao Xi broke completely, clinging to him despite the risk.

"Yanzhou… You can't die for me again! You already did it once!"

He kissed her forehead, the gold light of his soul mingling with the violet of hers.

"I would die a thousand times for you, Xi. Now stop fighting me."

The void blazed open as the First Root roared in outrage, unable to bear their emotional connection.

"ENOUGH SENTIMENTALITY!

GIVE ME THE ONE WHO BELONGS TO ME!

THE TRUE VESSEL!"

Gu turned, eyes filled with cold fire, pulling Xiao Xi behind him.

"I don't belong to you.

I belong to her."

"YOU WERE BORN FROM MY STOLEN POWER!

YOU ARE MY CREATION!"

Gu froze.

Xiao Xi froze.

"What…?" they whispered together, the final piece of the puzzle falling into place.

The First Root smiled savagely, delivering the final, crushing truth.

"YOUR EXISTENCE IN BOTH WORLDS WAS WRITTEN BY ME, THE ORIGINAL ROOT, AS A CONDUIT FOR MY POWER.

UNTIL SHE INTERFERED AND STOLE YOU."

He pointed at Xiao Xi.

"SHE BROKE YOU.

SHE FLAWED MY PERFECT VESSEL."

Gu stood tall, the truth stabilizing his soul rather than shattering it.

"And yet… I still choose her.

Every time.

No matter what you wrote."

The void convulsed in absolute fury, the First Root recognizing the strength of the love that defied its creation.

That's it for today, see you next time ...

Bye

Love you ❤️
