Clyde's POV

The wind whispered through the towering pines as I positioned myself at the cathedral window on the second floor, its glass stretching from stone floor to vaulted ceiling. My gaze tracked the lean figure darting through the Academy gardens before disappearing beyond the iron gates.

The steady rhythm of approaching footsteps echoed through the corridor behind me. I remained still.

Alpha Parker's distinctive scent reached me first - raw leather mixed with authority and cold steel.

A growl rumbled from his throat as something struck the polished floor near my feet.

The crumpled envelope skidded across the marble and settled against my boot.

My letter.

The one I had written.

"This is your final warning," his voice carried the edge of barely contained fury, though it remained surprisingly controlled. "Never threaten me in such a manner again."

I kept my attention fixed on the treeline where Evan had vanished, refusing to acknowledge his presence.
