Chapter 20 - Chapter 19: First Public Appearance

"I hope we won't join this in casual clothes and a motorcycle," Leila commented as she saw Britannian literally deploy their entire Garizon.

"Don't be ridiculous, do you think I will allow anything to happen to you?" He shook his head as he motioned to the sky.

She followed his gaze and narrowed her eyes.

"...is that…"

The girl mumbled as she saw familiar forms in the sky.

"Our Mobile suits?"

"Yep, and Milly is taking her position for sniping at the moment." He placed his helmet back on his head.

"...I see." The girl sighed in relief. For some reason, she thought he would be reckless, but it would seem he is careful enough when she is around.

The girl put on her helmet and jumped on the bike, and the pair rushed out of the car park and towards where the truck was rushing.

The bike jumped off the highway, into a construction site, and into the tunnels…

"Be careful… There could be soldiers here." Leila whispered into his ear.

"I know. I follow deployments." His HUD follows the live feed of this mission.

"...Good."

The pair eventually arrived at the place where the truck crashed into a huge boulder.

Marcus jumped off the back and rushed into the truck.

"Marcus, what is in this truck that makes you this reckless?" Leila followed him as she got into the truck as well.

"My brother's secrets. This little pet project of my dearest brother is so secret that he is even trying to hide from my old man." He declared with glee.

"..." Leila slowly nodded. If this is true, they can use this to deal with Clovis.

But if they do that, then Britannia could send someone competent who could lead to the reveal of Anaheim's true nature.

As they saw the capsule, Marcus walked over and found the button that would open it.

"Wait, isn't it a bit—"

When the capsule opened, Leila's eyes widened, grew wide with shock, as she got flashbacks…

Drowning, a woman with green hair rescues her from a frozen lake, then she touches her, and something happens.

Something happened to her related to some special power; the next thing she knew, she was with the Malcal family.

"...I-I know her…" The blonde replied, confused and uncertain.

"Hold it right there."

A soldier interrupted them.

The pair looked at this man.

"Get away from that pod. It's dangerous!" The man said as he got serious.

But then the soldier saw a green-haired girl in Leila's hands.

"...A girl? But the command said it was poison gas…"

As Marcus moved, the soldier got trigger-happy and tried to jump on the Exiled Prince.

But it wasn't that easy, as Marcus spent years training. If he is not inventing or cuddling with Leila, he is training.

The soldier stumbled as he nearly face planted as the Inventor Prince side-stepped and put his foot in the soldier's way.

However, the soldier reacted swiftly as the pair began to spar…

A couple of exchanges in the soldier gawked as he realised something!

"L-Lelouch!?"

But the next second, the Prince's expression morphs into worry as he grabs Leila and the green-haired girl, and the next moment, the truck explodes.

Thankfully, all of them left it before any explosion could happen.

"...Lelouch! What are you doing here?" The soldier removed his helmet and revealed himself to be Suzaku Kururugi.

"Finding out my brother's dirty little secret," Marcus replied as he looked at kneeling Leila, who had the green-haired girl in her hands.

"...All I knew in the breefing is that it was poison gas… I never considered a girl…" Suzaku was confused.

Before the conversation could continue, they were interrupted by men dressed in red uniforms.

"What is this? Soldier, why are you not following orders?"

Suzaku swiftly rushed over to the leading soldier.

"Sir, the reports were wrong, it's not poison gas!" The brown haired teen said to his superior officer.

"Is that so?" The man, who looked more like a criminal than an officer, pulled out a gun and gave an order to Suzaku that made him freeze in that spot.

"These two witnessed a government secret; kill them for me." He ordered with a bloodthirsty grin.

Suzaku looked shocked. He looked at the gun and Lelouch, standing at the back.

"...Sorry, sir, but I can't do that."

"...Disobeying a direct order from your superior? As expected from an eleven, you are not needed here then." With a lazy tone, the leader of the Royal Guard swirled his gun before pointing at Suzaku's chest.

"Die."

*BANG*

Suzaku's eyes widened as he never expected that in a hundred years! With a thud, he dropped to the ground. The leader then looked at Marcus and the two girls.

"I will be taking that girl from your hands now." With a bloodthirsty grin, the criminal-looking royal guard and his minions walked towards Lelouch and Leila.

"How about no? Milly, if you would."

"Huh?"

The royal guards looked confused, but a blue beam slammed into the red-dressed men horizontally. Erasing their upper halves…

There was no explosion, simply a deadly light show that ended the whole group.

With a thud, the entire group of royal guards dropped to the ground; they were all dead.

"..."

Leila's eyes trembled. This was the first time she observed how deadly the beam rifle was from so close!

"And so… they are gone," Marcus commented as he turned around and looked at his girl.

"Aren't you going to check your friend?" She asked him.

"...Friend is a strong word, but you are right." The Inventor Prince sighed; he needed to see if Suzaku was alive.

He walked over and checked Suzaku's pulse.

"It would seem he is okay; he had something in his chest that blocked the shot." He replied to the blonde after inspecting him.

"I see, then what now?" Leila looked at the green-haired girl in her hands.

"I am sending over our mobile suits. Knowing Clovis, he will want to hide everything under a rug." Marcus replied to her question, and he showed her a strained smile.

"...Hide under a rug… You mean… he will destroy the whole area!?" She stumbled, trying to stand up, but the girl in her hands was unconscious.

The Inventor Prince walked over and easily picked the green-haired girl up in his hands.

"Indeed. But we will need to see that in person. If he does that, then we shall intervene. I think it's time for us to reveal ourselves.

Once we deal with Clovis and Jeremiah takes over as temporary Viceroy, we will have a couple of days to prepare for the next Viceroy." He explained to her their next course of action.

"... And then?" She asked, understanding that it could work. It was a hastily created plan, but it was still a plan.

"Depends on who it is." He looked at her, his gaze was a pondering one.

"...I am certain you have an idea who it is." Leila stood up, dusting herself off before looking at him for an answer to her question.

"Of course. It would be my dearest sister, but that depends on how Clovis dies." Marcus replied as he moved his hand and pressed on his earpiece.

"Send us our machines." He requests their rides.

"...You have a lot of sisters, who are you hinting at?" Leila rolled her eyes when he said Dearest sister… it could be one out of a hundred!

"Cornelia, who else is a decent fighter in my extended family?" He rolled his eyes.

"...Her? The Witch of Britannia." Leila grimaced. She had heard of her. Thankfully, she was never on the frontline when it comes to Witch of Britannia…

As far as she is aware, Cornelia is a great Military Commander who has never lost a battle so far.

"Indeed. But Cornelia is a military commander, not a politician or economist. I doubt she could see through my company's true purpose." He reasoned. At the same time, watching how their machines were descending.

"Even so, Anaheim is too big. She could potentially come to see you. Would you think she will figure out your identity?"

"...Maybe, but there is another alternative."

"...And that is?" Leila asked as she saw her Andraste land before her.

"Euphemia, my other Dearest Sister." He replied with a smirk.

"...Right… I will withhold my ideas, because you have too many family members and a bunch of variables." She sighed as she walked over, and her mech picked her up.

"Indeed, that is why overwhelming power is the best." He winked at her before entering his Taranis mobile suit and getting comfortable in his seat with a green-haired girl in his hands.

He perked her up, making sure she was comfortable.

As he did that, his machine powered up, and he began to fly towards where the battlefield would happen soon.

Marcus noticed on the map that command base G-1 is moving towards Shinjuku Ghetto.

A large chunk of Sutherlands is joining the fray.

Most of them are part of his group. He could see that via his map. These units are dark purple while Clovis' troops are blue.

His surprise attack would destroy Clovis' troops if he were to make a move.

"Jeremiah, I shall begin my attack."

"Understood. Should we assist?" His knight's face appeared on the screen; he looked at his prince, not the girl he was holding in his hands. The man was professional enough to ignore such things.

"No. Let's keep your allegiance a secret for now. I shall, however, fry your Sutherlands, so be ready."

"Orders understood, we shall 'retreat'." With that said, Marcus and Leila descended on the battlefield.

"Milly, prepare to join if you want."

"I will cover your back. This position is far too good to lose." A blonde girl's face appeared on the screen.

"Is this the one Clovis experimented on?" Milly was smart enough to understand what happened; she read the Code R project. The girl had some strange abilities, and Clovis tried to acquire similar powers for himself.

"Yes. Continue to observe the battlefield."

"Okay."

"Then let's begin." Marcus grinned as he opened fire at the closest enemy Knightmare.

~~~
"W-What is that thing!? Agh—"
"H5 has been ejected!" Red-dressed officer with a worried look as he just saw the IFF of Knightmare disappear from the battlefield map.
"I-It can fly!!!"
"J9 had been ejected as well!" Another Sutherland was taken out!
Communications from Knightmares spread through G-1 Command Base, as officers looked nervous.
"Do we have visual on the enemy machine?" A fat man asked the officers.
"It doesn't have an IFF signature, and no radio signals are coming from this thing.
"We can't see it on our radars!"
"And a Visual!?" The Fat man was getting impatient.
"I-I think we do."
One of the operators showed a zoom view of this thing.
What they saw was a Dark Purple Machine with secondary Black colour shooting beams at Knightmares.
One shot, one disabled machine.
"T-There are two of them."
Another display in G-1 showed a blue and yellow machine floating with large wings; these wings had detachable parts that turned into weapons, effortlessly shredding any opposition!
"What are these things!?" Clovis was getting nervous.
'Did father learned that I had this green-haired girl and now send his special machines to deal with me!?'
The Viceroy of Area 11 was getting cold feet all of a sudden.
"M-M-My Lord! Half of our forces just ejected! They reported that their machines just fried!"
"W-What!? Half of them!?" Clovis turned pale as he shrank in his throne.
This situation just turned from bad to ugly!
"Did I get you at a bad time, Viceroy?" A nerd face appeared on the screen.
"What do you want!? Don't you see that we have something going on here!?" The fat man exclaimed with anger as his face was full of worry.
"That's why I offer my help."
"Can't it do it? Can your thing do it?" Clovis asked with a hopeful look.
"Please, Your Highness, call him Lancelot." The nerd smiled while saying that.
