Asha's POV
I peel my eyes open when the sun's ray enters my room, I sit up on my bed. I checked the time on my alarm clock, and entered the bathroom to take a shower.
After washing up,I dressed into a black tailored trouser, a black turtle neck top with a long black coat. Not bothering to eat breakfast, I took my CV and left the apartment.
I had an interview with Herlocks Enterprise, one of the most successful enterprise in Brooklyn. I quit my old job in LA and flew in to New York to start afresh but right now, my rent is due and because of financial difficulties I haven't paid for my therapy sessions with my psychologist Dr Henry Miller. After a quick stop at burger king for breakfast, I entered the next train.

I arrived 6 minutes late, I made my way inside and walked up to the receptionist.
"Good morning" I greeted with the most honest smile I could come up with. But it seems impossible as i was already irritated by her ignorance and nonchalance
"What can I do for you?" She asked with a heavy sigh "I was scheduled for an interview with Mrs Maxwell"
She eyed me "What is your name?" I stared at her a little too longer "Asha Henry"
She typed furiously on her computer "You may go in, it's on the 9th floor. When you have arrived, kindly wait your turn"
I thanked her and entered the elevator to the 9th floor. I heard my phone ding. It was a message from my best friend Gaia
'Good luck with your interview and if you're free tonight. Would you join us to party?'
I texted her back
'Yeah sure. I will text you when I am done with the interview.'
The elevator doors open and a guy walks in. He wore a black blazer, his hair was nicely done, a stray strand falling on his left eye. His blue eyes glistened because of the reflection of the light, he had an intimidating body build, this guy towered over, if I calculated correctly, he should be 198cm tall.
He stares at me, his gaze lingering. He had a blank expression but his eyes screamed with emotions. I kept my gaze at the elevator door eagerly waiting for it to open
My phone rung startling me, he let out a soft chuckle as I steadied my breathing. I picked up the call
"Hello?" I said "Asha my goodness you left so early"
"How did you know I left so early?" I asked, she giggles "Because you didn't make breakfast. You normally make full blown cuisine"
"Gaia, please don't tell me you're at my apartment" I glanced at the guy
"As a matter of fact I am. I called to ask where the TV remote is?"
I groaned "Did you check on top the cabinet?"
"Oops....sorry. Have a great day. I love you!"
She screamed, I giggled and cut the call.
The doors finally opened and I stepped out and made my way to the line of the people waiting on the interview. I found myself staring at a girl with a tight red dress, it revealed too many parts of her cleavage. But what the heck do I know, that's literally none of my business. I sat down with the rest memorizing what I had to say and for exactly 20 minutes it seemed like the whole day had gone
"Miss Asha Henry" they called "Well that's my que"
I walked into the office and to my surprise, there were three administrators sitting across from me.
Come on Asha, you have waited for this moment for 6 months. You can do this.
"Please have a seat" the woman amongst them said calmly but authoritatively, she looked in her early forties "We may comense"
"Can you please tell us your name and area of business"
I squeezed my palms together tightly, forming a fist "My name is Asha Henry, and I am a seasoned business administrator"
"So enlighten us on what you have to offer for Herlocks Enterprise"
My heart skipped a bit, my palms were already sweaty "I offer a wide range of services available for both full-time and freelance support" they nodded their heads while writing something in their notepad, I'm taking that as an confidence booster so I continued "I specialize in roles such as brand administrator, executive assistant, personal assistant, help desk officer, virtual assistant and more. With the aim to drive organizational growth while promoting excellence in service delivery."
The lady casts me glance and I continue "With a solid foundation in communication, written and verbal, organizational skills, customer service and management to the table, I am committed to providing comprehensive support" By the time I had finished, I was dripping with sweat even with the air conditioners on. They spoke in whispers for like two minutes and turned back to me "May we see your CV?"
I nodded holding out my CV to them. They looked through it for a while and gave it back to me "you say you specialize in help desk officer, personal assistant and more" the lady asked, this time her voice softer. But hold up, I really hope they don't give me th job of a help desk officer.
"Yes ma'am" she smiled softly "Then congratulations Miss Henry. You got the job of a personal assistant. You resume on Monday next week, please be here by 8am sharon tomorrow so I can show you around and tell you what is expected from you"
Excitedly I smile "Thank you so much ma'am. I'll see you then" I stood up excited and walked out of the office. I ran to the elevator and waited for it to open, when it finally did I jumped inside. I took out my phone and called Gaia, she picked on the fourth ring.
"Yellow!"she said "Gaia I got the job!" I shouted
"Wait what?!" I laughed "I got the job! Of a personal assistant"
"Asha that's amazing! Come over let's celebrate"
"I am not going to a club Gaia, i need to here by 8am sharo tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow night, when I am completely confident that i got the job"
"Hurry on home! Jorah is going to lose her head when she hears this"
"Okay see you then. Bye" I sid ending the call. Oh my gosh, I got the job.
