Lashana's face went white as a sheet, terror flooding her features as she tried screaming for her bodyguards to rescue her.
Most of her muscle was already sprawled unconscious across the floor, and the few still upright weren't in any condition to be useful.
"D-Don't do anything insane! If you actually pull that trigger, the Thomas family won't just let this slide. You'll never make it out of Valdoria breathing!" Lashana's voice shook as she tried to sound threatening.
I kept the gun trained on her, my stare arctic and lethal. "The Thomas family doesn't get to decide whether I leave Valdoria breathing.
But you? I'm not leaving here with you still drawing air. Let you stick around, and you'll just keep causing problems."
That fire almost killed Evelin. Anyone who even considered putting her in danger was going to face the consequences.
All I wanted was for Evelin to be safe—and nobody was ever going to lay a finger on her.
