Jimmy's POV
I had Dalton bring Margot to the manor. Ever since she'd planted seeds of doubt about my interest in another woman, I hadn't bothered crossing paths with her.
I knew she had been counting on her revelation causing a rift between Evelin and me, but that plan had backfired spectacularly.
Moments ago, Grace had dropped a bombshell on Margot—Evelin was behind her imprisonment, and I had actually supported her.
"Margot, Jimmy's become Evelin's attack dog now. You're on your own in the Elysia household from here on out." I could imagine Grace's cutting words still ringing in Margot's ears.
If even Grace could read the writing on the wall about her standing in the family, Margot would know the brutal truth better than anyone.
"Mr. Godrick, any idea why Jimmy wants to see me?" I could hear the tremor of wariness in Margot's voice through Dalton's earpiece.
"Mr. Hamilton will explain everything once you meet," Dalton responded with practiced neutrality.
