"Then I'll stay by your side. If anyone tries to get in our way, I'll just deal with them," Jimmy said slowly.
His voice stayed calm, but I caught that dangerous madness flickering in his eyes.
I pressed my lips together. After all this time with him, I'd almost forgotten he was the head of the Hamilton family—the most dangerous force in Bonnie City.
"Let's go somewhere else," I said.
"Then let's just go back to the apartment. I've already got everything ready—just waiting on you," Jimmy replied.
"The apartment?" I shot him a look, frowning.
"What's the matter, changed your mind? You just said you'd spend the night with me," he teased.
"No, let's go," I said, walking out of the bar ahead of him.
He followed right behind me.
We got in the car and drove to our old place—the apartment we'd once shared.
When I walked in, I immediately saw the place had been decorated—exactly like I'd expected.
