"Have you met her current boyfriend?" Rey pressed.
Allen's eyebrow shot up. "Boyfriend? Never seen one. Though honestly, given her personality, wouldn't surprise me if she's got someone."
Rey's jaw tightened. Selina could be warm honey with friends, but ice-cold steel with anyone who crossed her wrong.
Sure, that sharp edge got her in hot water sometimes. But it also made people respect her.
"Uncle Rey, so even though Selina's got a boyfriend, you're still chasing after her?" Allen couldn't resist asking.
"What's wrong with that?" Rey's voice cut sharp.
Allen blinked, taken aback. "Look, she's just not the type to circle back to an ex."
Rey's stare could have frozen hell over. "That's enough. Out."
Allen shrugged and headed for the door.
But at the threshold, he couldn't help himself.
"Word is Selina's into younger guys now. If she really doesn't want you, Uncle Rey, maybe don't force it."
