Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Ye Xiu was surprised; he knew that equipment from the Heavenly Domain couldn't be brought back to the normal server, but this was an old account. Couldn't he have some spare equipment?

Perhaps reading his thoughts, Ron picked up the mic, and his girlish voice responded.

"We're fighting in a fixed field. That means no matter what equipment I wear, its stats will be normalized. Whether I wear it or not makes no difference, but wearing nothing gives me a slight advantage," Ron explained.

"So I considered it a strategy. Besides, your character is unspecialized, and you're using a custom silver weapon, making you almost unbeatable in a fixed field," he reasoned.

"…"

Ye Xiu was speechless. Although what Ron said was true, using a naked character as a strategy didn't really affect him. After all, Ron's dagger and cloak were silver equipment—and he only had one of each. *What advantage? Doesn't he have the advantage?*

He didn't point it out, though. Ye Xiu had been with Glory for ten years; what hadn't he seen?

"Okay…" Ye Xiu agreed.

His Thousand-Chance Umbrella morphed into a gun. Aiming its muzzle at No Name, Lord Grim fired hundreds of bullets—a form of basic attack. However, he secretly mixed in a low-level Sharpshooter skill, Floating Bullet, followed by Launcher Anti-Tank Missile. This wasn't considered a waste of mana or skill, since both were direct attacks with a small AoE.

Ron showcased his skill by tapping a few keys and maneuvering his character to dodge the incoming attacks by moving sideways. It was a simple movement, but avoiding damage altogether required superb control. Even minimizing the damage taken demanded great micro-management—showing just how skilled he was.

When it came to speed and damage, Assassins were terrifyingly good competitors. Although their HP was incredibly low, that was part of the risk. The class was truly balanced—they could burst but could also be burst down just as easily. It wasn't considered unfair. Besides, even if an Assassin had high damage and speed, if the player couldn't utilize them properly, it was as good as having none. It took a lot of skill to play this class—and even more to master it.

Ron's movements were textbook. The fundamental strategy against long-range attackers was to close the distance. Launchers and other ranged classes like Mages would be instantly dead the moment an Assassin got close—but Lord Grim was different.

Lord Grim was an unspecialized character with a total of 120 skills from different classes. He could fight both at long range and close range and even provide support. The so-called "Gods" in the pro scene would struggle against such a crafty opponent—let alone one played by the number one player himself. It was like giving a veteran a cheat code—practically unbeatable. While it might be possible to defeat an Unspecialized in a normal arena due to stat differences, doing so in a fixed field was nearly impossible.

"Impressive APM," Ye Xiu muttered in praise. It wasn't an empty compliment—Ron was truly a skilled player.

Unspecialized characters had become legendary, and few had real experience fighting against them. Yet Ron, despite not being a pro, moved like one—perhaps even better than most. His decision-making, macro, and micro skills were enough to hold his ground, even without prior experience fighting unspecialized classes. And he was facing none other than Ye Xiu, the former Battle God of Glory.

From an outsider's perspective, there was nothing impressive about Ron's actions. All he did was dodge. But his judgment and analysis were razor-sharp—earning Ye Xiu's respect. Like they say, it takes an expert to recognize one.

Ron was slowly narrowing the distance while maintaining some space. He wasn't keeping a fixed distance—just looking for opportunities. To normal players, his movements might look idiotic, like a desperate attempt to get closer. But every step was deliberate.

Lord Grim's weapon, the Thousand-Chance Umbrella, could switch almost instantly. And with 120 skills from different classes—albeit low-level ones—the main threat lay in his crowd control and combos. Once caught in his combos, it would be difficult to escape.

That had already been proven earlier, judging by how he one-sidedly beat Tang Rou. Ron was certain Ye Xiu was no stranger to any class—perhaps even more proficient in Assassin techniques than he was himself.

That's why he kept his distance, focusing on dodging while looking for counter opportunities. Ron knew that if he got too close to Lord Grim, it would only give Ye Xiu the advantage. Staying too far away was also risky—but less so than entering close quarters, where Ye Xiu could unleash terrifying combos.

Even for Ron, this was his first time fighting an Unspecialized at this level. He dared not act carelessly and chose to fight cautiously—a battle of attrition and psychological warfare.

The two kept exchanging blows for several minutes, neither side taking lethal damage—relying purely on mechanics and skill to attack and evade.

"Too much work for 100 yuan."

Although Ye Xiu complained, he didn't look tired. In fact, he was enjoying himself. Compared to fighting Tang Rou earlier, this battle with Ron was on a whole different level. He felt nostalgic—as if reliving his pro days—and quietly savored the match.

Still, if things kept going like this, they'd end in a stalemate, even though Ye Xiu had the advantage. Since Ron refused to take the initiative, Ye Xiu decided to attack first. His weapon morphed into a Blade Master's sword as he charged forward, initiating the Blade Master skill Sword Draw!

Seeing his intention, Ron refused the invitation. Instead of blocking or countering, he used the Assassin skill Double Jump to create distance.

"This guy…" Ye Xiu sighed helplessly. *Are we going to fight or just keep running?*

While they continued their cat-and-mouse battle, Tang Rou returned with Chen Guo. Guo Guo had successfully convinced her to stop, knowing the huge gap in skill between her and Ye Xiu. There was no point in acting recklessly. Tang Rou understood that, though she still wanted to protest. Faced with her friend's concern, she reluctantly agreed. At least she could challenge Ye Xiu again once she truly understood the game.

"Don't be discouraged, Little Tang. Once you know how to play, we can challenge him again and win the money back," Guo Guo said, trying to cheer her up.

"Yes…" Tang Rou replied with a polite smile.

"Come on, let's see what that guy's doing! " Guo Guo suggested.

The two girls returned, only to find Ye Xiu still focused on his computer.

"This guy—is he still playing? " Guo Guo said in disbelief, hurrying toward him.

Tang Rou, meanwhile, noticed Ye Xiu had left the money on the desk. She gathered it neatly and followed after Guo Guo.

Although Chen Guo was a bit annoyed, she didn't disturb him and waited until the match was over. As a gamer herself, she knew the pain of being interrupted in a thrilling moment like this.

Speaking of the situation, "What is this? " Guo Guo muttered. She wasn't a pro, but after five years of playing, she had enough experience to recognize an intense match when she saw one.

In the short time they were gone, the two had exchanged skills and health, and the advantage was clearly in Ye Xiu's favor—he still had over 30% HP, while Ron had less than 10%. This showed just how strong the unspecialized class could be. The fight was about to reach its climax.

Faced with Lord Grim's relentless assault, Ron eventually exposed an opening—which Ye Xiu seized. Lord Grim's Thousand-Chance Umbrella morphed into a spear, stabbing at Ron's head. The skill Ye Xiu used was Dragon Tooth.

Chen Guo was certain the attack was unavoidable and that Lord Grim would win. But in this desperate moment, Ron made a few quick taps on his keyboard, tilting his character's head just enough to narrowly dodge the attack.

"What!?"

That display of micro-control stunned Guo Guo. She had been sure Dragon Tooth would end the match. To think Ron dodged it… this kind of precision could only be seen in pro matches.

"Who in the world is this guy fighting? " she murmured, staring at Ye Xiu in awe.

Ron stepped forward and used the Assassin skill Cut Throat as a counter. The distance was perfect, but Ye Xiu switched weapons—the Thousand-Chance Umbrella opened into a shield, blocking the attack and Ron's vision.

At the same time, Ye Xiu used Shadow Clone, a low-level Ninja skill, to create momentum, then finished with a Striker skill, Eagle Stamp. It all happened in an instant, and even Guo Guo could barely keep up—showing just how incredible Ye Xiu's hand speed was.

Ron tapped rapidly, trying to dodge, but his skills were on cooldown. Realizing he couldn't escape, he simply stood still and let himself be struck by Eagle Stamp.

"GLORY!"

The winning logo flashed across Ye Xiu's screen. Seeing the match end, he finally sighed in relief and said softly,

"That was a good match…"
