Mei immediately stopped skipping. She stood inside the subway train, waiting quietly by the door. In the subway window, her reflection showed a girl with a subtle smile. Even though she wasn't hopping anymore, she still rose onto her tiptoes now and then, her short hair swaying lightly with the movement.
She checked her phone and followed the map's directions. Passing through an automatic door, riding three stations, and walking five minutes, she finally reached a DIY cake shop. It wasn't a big store just a single storefront with two floors. The first floor had a few clean tables. As soon as Mei walked in, a staff member in an apron greeted her.
"Hello, would you like to make a cake?"
Mei replied, "I want to make one myself."
