Kai appeared above Mount Paozu in a flash of blue light, the familiar scent of the forest hitting him first. It had been six months for his family… six months since he suddenly vanished into his own universe to train. To them, that was a long time without even a visit.
He descended slowly, taking a deep breath as the mansion came into view — towering, polished, modern, and sitting proudly where the old capsule house used to be. The place didn't surprise him anymore; they had finished upgrading it months ago. Still… seeing it again filled him with a warm, strange feeling.
"Home sweet home," he murmured.
The moment his feet touched the ground, the front door burst open.
"KAI!!"
Chichi practically flew at him — faster than he remembered — wrapping him in a crushing hug.
"I thought you forgot about us!" she yelled, even though she was smiling through it.
Kai laughed awkwardly. "Forgot? Mom, I was training in my pocket dimension. Time management isn't exactly easy there."
Gohan walked out next, carrying a stack of papers as usual, but the second he saw Kai he dropped everything and pulled him into a tight hug.
"Welcome back, little bro. Seriously… you had us worried."
Kai looked between them, feeling that mix of guilt and warmth. "Yeah… sorry. Training got intense."
Chichi wiped her eyes quickly. "Well, you're here now, and that's what matters. Come inside! We've been waiting to show you the new house properly — not the rushed tour from last time."
Kai followed them in, and the interior made him pause.
The place felt lived in — warm lights, family photos, Gohan's books stacked everywhere, Chi-Chi's decorations, even Goku's dumb grinning face in a framed photo on the wall. It wasn't just a mansion… it felt like home.
Gohan nudged him. "We kept everything ready for whenever you came back. Mom even cleaned your old room every week."
"I didn't know when you'd return," Chichi muttered, embarrassed. "So I wanted everything perfect."
Kai smiled. "Thanks… really."
He let out a long breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.
Then — two energies rushed toward him. One small. One VERY loud.
The door behind him slammed open.
"KAI!!! BIG BRO!!"
Goten launched himself like a missile, tackling Kai around the waist.
Before Kai could respond, another familiar energy landed outside — bright, carefree, unmistakably Goku.
"There you are! Haha! Six months, huh? You gotta take me to that pocket dimension of yours! If you stayed there that long, it must be amazing!"
Chichi smacked Goku on the head. "Don't encourage him! I've already lost you enough times!"
But Goku wasn't listening. He was staring at Kai intensely.
"Your ki feels… different. Way heavier. Way calmer."
Kai smirked. "I trained for a while. Growing stronger is natural. And sure — I'll take you there. Just don't freak out when you see it."
"Me too! Me too!!" Goten said, hugging his leg.
"Okay, okay, I'll take you too." Kai ruffled his hair.
Father and son practically sparkled from excitement.
"And you too, bro. You're not escaping," Kai said to Gohan, catching his curious look.
Before any of them could speak, a new presence cut through the air — sharp, irritated, unmistakable.
Vegeta.
He landed hard enough to crack the tiles.
"Tch. I knew it. That ridiculous pressure only YOU would return without warning." He crossed his arms. "Gone for six months and this is how you announce yourself? Flaring your ki like a beacon?"
Kai shrugged. "Maybe I did it to lure you in. Besides… I just teleported."
At the same time, he sent a mental command to a clone inside his pocket dimension to increase his Ki and God Ki control training even more. Then he suppressed his own power down to Goten's level.
Vegeta clicked his tongue. "Hmph. At least your leaking power stopped."
"Not anymore,"Kai said with a smile.
Behind him, Trunks arrived, panting. "Kai! Long time no see!"
And right behind him, Bulma stepped out of her capsule car with sunglasses and attitude.
"Oh great, he's back!" Bulma smirked. "Maybe now Vegeta can stop pacing around the gravity chamber complaining about 'that boy's ki changing again.'"
"WOMAN—!" Vegeta growled.
Bulma ignored him. "You look taller. And stronger. And like someone who owes us an explanation."
"What explanation? I was training in my pocket dimension. You guys gotta stop interrogating me every time I come home." Kai said.
"You can't blame us!" Bulma shot back. "Last time, you went in for ten years while only ten seconds passed outside. And you came out leagues beyond Goku and Vegeta! Now you spent six months in there? Of course we're curious! You might be an adult now, but to me you're still the same kid except… something about you feels older. The air around you is different."
Kai nodded calmly. "I can control the time dilation however I want. Not much passed outside — but for me, it was twenty years . As for why I look like this… I used my own dragon balls to gain the ability to control my age. I won't age a day unless I decide to."
Everyone's eyes widened.
"And strength?" Goku asked immediately.
Kai smirked. "Naturally, I improved. Learned a few things too."
With a wave of his hand, he conjured a massive carpet and a full feast.
The entire group stared at the feast in stunned silence.
Goku's eyes sparkled like two suns. "HE CAN SUMMON FOOD NOW?!"
Chichi screamed, "DON'T ENCOURAGE HIM!!" but it was too late — Goku had already started drooling.
Even Vegeta stepped closer, eyes narrowing. "Tch. Summoning objects out of thin air… What kind of technique is that?"
Kai grinned. "A little something I learned during the twenty years it's no different then pikolo ability to create objects from thin air mine is slightly better I can create anything Food is just a luxury ."
Gohan adjusted his glasses. "Kai… this kind of materialization is on a divine level. It's not just ki manipulation…"
"Oh please those are just techniques anyone can learn and with some practise they can even reach what you call divine level ,it's just magic and those kaioshins are just naturally gifted at it ". Kai said to gohan unfazed as he ate.
Bulma folded her arms, smirking but slightly shaken. "You've officially crossed into 'terrifyingly impressive' territory."
"Maybe". Kai said smirking back at her.
"So magic huh call me impressed what else can you do". Bulma asked
Even Vegeta stepped closer, eyes narrowing. "Tch. Summoning objects out of thin air… What kind of technique is that?"
Kai grinned. "Just something I picked up during those twenty years. It's no different from Piccolo creating clothes or objects — mine is just a bit more refined. I can make anything. Food's just the fun option."
Gohan adjusted his glasses. "Kai… this kind of materialization is close to divine magic. It's more than simple ki manipulation."
"Oh, please," Kai said, unfazed as he took another bite. "They're just techniques. With enough practice, anyone could reach what you call 'divine level.' Magic isn't exclusive to Kaioshins — they're just naturally good at it."
Bulma folded her arms, smirking though clearly impressed. "You've officially crossed into 'terrifyingly impressive' territory."
"Maybe," Kai replied with a small smirk.
"So… magic, huh? Well, I'm impressed," Bulma said. "What else can you do?"
Kai wiped his mouth calmly. "A few things. Most of it's practical stuff — nothing crazy."
Vegeta raised an eyebrow. "Tch. Practical? If this is your idea of practical, I'm not sure I want to see the rest."
Gohan leaned in. "Like what? Show us something else."
Kai thought for a moment, then lifted a finger. A faint golden circle formed in the air — a small, clean portal no larger than a notebook. Through it, they could see a different room: Kai's personal training hall.
Goten gasped. "WOAH! A window!"
"It's a doorway," Kai corrected. "Just a small one. Lets me reach for things or check on the place."
Goku's eyes sparkled. "You can peek into your whole dimension from here?! That's awesome!"
Kai snapped his fingers and the portal closed like a soap bubble popping.
"Relax. It's limited. I can only open small ones on this side. Can't bring people through unless I open a full gate."
Bulma pushed up her sunglasses. "Okay, now that's… very convenient. You better not use that to steal snacks from my kitchen."
Kai shrugged. "No promises."
That earned a laugh from Gohan and Goten. Even Goku grinned wider.
But Vegeta's expression didn't soften.
His eyes narrowed again, studying Kai quietly, like a scientist examining a specimen.
"…Your ki control is different," Vegeta finally muttered. "Not just stronger. Cleaner. More contained."
Kai nodded. "I've been focusing on that. It helps keep things stable."
Vegeta clicked his tongue. "Good. Then you can spar with me after this meal."
Goku immediately jumped in. "HEY! I called first! He said he'd take me to that dimension!"
"No one said anything about FIRST, Kakarot!"
Bulma sighed, rubbing her forehead. "Here we go…"
Kai raised both hands. "Hey, hey — I just got home. At least let me finish eating before you two start fighting over me."
Chichi suddenly stepped in with her stern glare activated. "AND nobody is dragging him anywhere until he rests! He just came back!"
Goku froze. Vegeta silently stepped one centimeter back. Trunks and Goten went completely still.
Kai chuckled. "See? Mom already won."
Chichi huffed proudly and crossed her arms.
Then her expression softened a bit.
Chichi leaned forward, curious. "Besides… I want to hear about those twenty years you spent training. You don't have to tell us everything, but…" She smiled warmly. "A little would be nice."
Kai's expression softened. "Yeah. I can do that."
"Alright," he began as they finished eating and moved on to tea. "First, I focused on martial arts—refining every technique I had to its absolute limit. But eventually, I realized I was… lacking in more mundane areas."
"Mundane?" Trunks raised an eyebrow.
"It means normal stuff," Vegeta answered before Kai could. "Professions, skills… cooking, blacksmithing, all that. Most strong fighters never bother. They just rely on others."
"Exactly," Kai said with a nod. "So I spent a few years learning what I could."
Gohan looked intrigued. "So you didn't just train your power, but your daily-life skills too?"
"Pretty much," Kai replied. "Turns out being strong doesn't help when you don't know how to fix your own equipment, or cook properly, or manage basic things."
Chi-Chi nodded proudly. "Good! More fighters should learn that discipline isn't only about battles."
Goku scratched his cheek, looking almost nervous. "Uh… does that mean I should learn how to cook too?"
Chi-Chi shot him a look. "Yes."
"Mom he will burn the whole house down if you let him do that beside he is already good with bbq so let him cook outside the house, " Kai said to chichi
Everyone laughed expet chichi who quickly removed that idea from her head beside she enjoyed cooking fro her husband and dad didn't care about it at all after all he never get enough of moms food
"So," Bulma said, tapping her fingers on the table. "What did you learn exactly? I'm guessing it wasn't just cooking and blacksmithing."
Kai took a sip of his tea before answering. "No. I tried a lot of things. Engineering… crafting… medicine… even farming for a while."
Goku lit up immediately. "Farming? Really?! Did you like it?"
Kai gave a small, smile. "Let's just say… evey skill have it merits dad and you are quit the great at it your advices helped me greatly when I was farming in my pocket dimension."
Goku puffed out his chest proudly, while Chi-Chi covered her face, already bracing for his bragging.
Trunks leaned forward. "So what was the point of learning all that? Just to pass time?"
Kai shook his head. "No. It was to become… complete. Strong in more than just one way. And because in the future, I want to build things—my own world, my own systems—without relying on anything or anyone else."
Vegeta crossed his arms, studying him more carefully than before. "Hmph. That… isn't a bad philosophy."
Kai smiled faintly. "Thanks, Vegeta."
There was a short silence as everyone absorbed his words.
Then Bulma broke it with a grin.
"Well, if you're that skilled," she said, "I might have a few projects for you."
Kai raised an eyebrow. "Projects?"
"Oh, you'll see," Bulma said with a wink. "And don't worry… nothing too crazy. Not yet."
Goku leaned forward, excited again. "Kai, after tea… wanna spar?"
Everyone groaned.
Kai chuckled. "Sure. But don't blame me when Mom drags you back inside."
Chi-Chi's eyes sharpened instantly. "Goku—!"
Goku froze.
Kai laughed softly, enjoying the warmth of being home again.
Then he snapped his fingers, and two identical figures stepped out of thin air — calm, silent, perfectly composed.
Everyone stiffened.
"Kai…?" Gohan said, adjusting his glasses. "Clones?"
"Mm-hm." Kai nodded casually. " they are quit helpful and and a useful skill ."
Vegeta narrowed his eyes. "Tch. Show-off."
Kai pointed at the two clones. "You two, go spar with Vegeta and Dad. And go easy on them."
Both clones bowed slightly.
Goku's eyes lit up. "Wait, we're sparring clones of you?! This is gonna be awesome!"
Vegeta scoffed, even though he was clearly interested. "Easy? Don't insult me."
Trunks chuckled under his breath, and even Bulma smirked.
As they all watched the group walk out to the training yard, Bulma nudged Kai. "So… clones. When did you pick that up?"
"Somewhere around year fifteen?" Kai said with a shrug. "It helps when I need to multitask."
Gohan whistled softly. "That's… impressive. You really did learn a lot out there."
Kai's smile faded into something softer, almost nostalgic. "Yeah. I guess I did."
A distant thunderclap echoed outside — Goku had already thrown the first punch. Another shockwave followed, Vegeta's aura flaring up in response.
Chi-Chi sighed. "They're going to ruin the grass again."
"Now they won't". Kai said making a magic shield around their yard.
Across the yard, the clones were holding their ground with calm precision, not overpowering the two Saiyans, but matching them perfectly — giving them exactly the fight they wanted.
Bulma crossed her arms, studying Kai with interest. "You really came back different, you know."
"Is that a good thing?" Kai asked.
She smirked. "For now? Yes. But it depends on what you're planning next."
Kai looked out toward the sparring match, the wind brushing his hair, his expression unreadable for a moment.
"For the next couple of years? Nothing much, actually." Kai said with a relaxed shrug. "I'm planning to lay low, rest a bit… and maybe train these guys from time to time."
Bulma raised an eyebrow. "You? Resting? I'll believe that when I see it."
Before Kai could reply, the air shifted.
Two clones walked back toward the group — each carrying someone on their back.
On one clone's shoulders, Goku dangled upside down, eyes spinning.
On the other, Vegeta lay stiff as a board, arms crossed even while unconscious, as if refusing to look defeated.
Bulma pinched the bridge of her nose. "Oh for— Already?!"
Gohan blinked repeatedly. "Dad… Vegeta… how long were you even fighting?"
Goten and Trunks ran up, shocked.
"Wow! That was fast!" Goten said.
"Not even 5 minutes". I say with a smirk.
Trunks poked Vegeta's cheek. "He's definitely out cold."
The clone gently set Vegeta down, while the other lowered Goku with surprising care.
Goku groaned. "Ughh… okay… those clones hit harder than they looked…"
Vegeta, eyes still closed, muttered, "Shut up, Kakarot…"
Kai crossed his arms and gave them a knowing look. "I told the clones to go easy."
Goku shot his hand up without even lifting his head. "They did! Doesn't mean they weren't scary!"
Chi-Chi marched outside, hands on her hips. "Goku, how do you knock yourself out on your first day home?!"
Goku smiled weakly. "Training…?"
Vegeta finally cracked one eye open. "Woman… help me stand…"
Bulma sighed dramatically but walked over to assist him. "Honestly, you two are going to be the death of us."
She glanced back at Kai. "And you're planning to 'rest'? With these maniacs around?"
Kai chuckled. "Resting doesn't mean doing nothing. I'll just stay close. Help when needed. Spend time here."
Gohan smiled. "That's… actually really nice to hear."
Kai gave a small nod. "Yeah. It's been a while since I felt like staying in one place."
Goku sat up suddenly, cheerful again. "Then you're teaching us more tomorrow, right?!"
"NO." Chi-Chi shouted instantly.
Vegeta grunted. "Yes."
Bulma shook her head. "Here we go…"
Kai laughed softly.
Being home was chaotic, loud, and absolutely unpredictable…
"Alright, Trunks, Goten — you two." Kai pointed at them. "Each of you take a barrel. One of you brings it to the training room inside the house, and the other loads the second one into Aunt Bulma's car. Got it?"
He summoned two large barrels with a flick of his wrist, then gently placed two senzu beans on the ground beside Goku and Vegeta.
Goten snapped into a salute. "Yes, sir!"
Trunks grabbed the other barrel. "On it!"
The two kids raced off, nearly tripping over each other in their rush to prove who was faster.
Bulma crossed her arms with a half-smile. "You're making them work already? You've been back for five minutes."
Kai shrugged. "Those two are competitive by nature. And what's inside those barrels will definitely be useful for everyone in the future — especially during training. They're filled with senzu beans."
Bulma's eyes widened. "Senzu beans? Kai, where did you get that many? Even Korin struggles to grow more than four a year."
"Well, of course I grew them myself," Kai replied casually. "I told you I learned farming along with other professions, didn't I? And I don't just farm normal fruits and vegetables. I farm senzu beans too. I've got… let's say, a small forest of them in my dimension."
Bulma stared at him. "A forest… of senzu beans."
Even Gohan froze mid-step.
Goku's jaw dropped. "A forest?! Like… trees? Bushes? Rows?!"
Kai chuckled. "Rows. Very long rows."
Vegeta narrowed his eyes. "Twenty years of training… and you spent some of that growing beans."
Kai nodded. "They're useful. And it beats running out every time one of you gets blown up."
Goku coughed awkwardly. "Heh… yeah… that happens."
Chi-Chi sighed. "More than it should."
Goten peeked over the barrel he'd been pushing. "Big bro, does that mean we'll never run out of senzu beans again?"
"Not unless dad and uncle vegeta starts snacking on them like yanirobi did years ago ," Kai replied.
Goku immediately straightened. "I won't! I swear! I learned my lesson!"
Chi-Chi glared. "You'd better."
Bulma walked up and tapped the barrel, the scientific curiosity in her eyes fully activated. "So these are stable? Same potency as Korin's?"
Kai nodded. "Even stronger, actually. I improved the soil quality and tweaked the growing conditions. Took trial and error, but the results are good."
Bulma stared at him like he had just handed her the key to unlimited research.
"Oh, I am absolutely taking samples."
Kai smirked. "That's why one barrel's yours."
Vegeta raised a brow. "And the other?"
"For the family," Kai said simply. "Figured it would help now that everyone trains more seriously."
Gohan smiled warmly. "Thanks, Kai. This will help a lot. Especially Dad and Vegeta."
"Hey!" Goku protested.
Vegeta scoffed. "Hmph."
Kai dusted his hands off. "Alright. Barrels are handled. So—what's next?"
Before anyone could answer, Goten tugged on Kai's shirt.
"Big bro! Since you're back… can you train us? Even a little?"
Trunks immediately jumped beside him. "Yeah! You promised something fun earlier!"
Kai blinked, then smiled. "I did, didn't I?"
Goku instantly lit up like a child. "Oh! Oh! Can I join too?!"
Chi-Chi glared. "Goku—"
Kai raised a hand.
"It's just a warm-up. Nothing serious."
Vegeta cracked his neck.
"Hmph. If you're training the brats, I'm watching."
Bulma sighed.
"Here we go…"
Kai stepped into the yard, stretching his arms.
The air around him shimmered.
In just a few seconds, a massive tower began rising from the ground—far larger and taller than Korin's Tower, its structure stretching into the clouds like a colossal monument.
And just as quickly as it appeared… it vanished, dissolving into thin air like a mirage.
Bulma stepped forward, stunned.
"Kai—where did that tower disappear to? And why did you build something that huge in the first place?"
Kai remained silent for a moment, his eyes scanning the empty space where the tower had stood.
Then he finally spoke.
"I call it the Tower of Dreams and Challenges. It's the ultimate training ground—and the greatest entertainment system ever created."
Everyone stared, waiting for him to continue.
"The tower has countless modes," Kai explained. "You can train, grow stronger, gain knowledge… anything you want. Every idea, every experience—it's all possible inside the tower."
He gestured upward, although nothing visible remained.
"You can fight any opponent you want—real, fictional, from any universe, timeline, or story. You can spar with them, talk to them, team up with them… whatever you want. And none of it leaves the tower without my permission. I'm the creator, so I control the boundaries."
Goten's eyes sparkled. "Wait—so I could fight, like… Dad while he is Super Saiyan 3 !?"
Kai smirked. "If you ask the tower for it, yep."
Trunks jumped up. "Can we play games too?"
"Play them… or live inside them," Kai corrected. "Same goes for manga, movies, stories, novels—you can enter them, experience them, rewrite them, whatever you want. The tower will recreate the world perfectly."
Bulma raised a brow. "And how does it do that?"
"Just provide the tower with enough data," Kai replied. "It handles the rest automatically."
Vegeta narrowed his eyes.
"And the time difference?"
Kai pointed at the sky.
"Inside the tower, one minute out here is a year inside. Perfect for training."
Vegeta's eyes glimmered with interest despite himself.
Bulma exhaled. "Kai… you basically created a god-level training universe."
Kai smiled faintly.
"Not virtual. Real enough to matter. But safe."
He snapped his fingers.
A small, glowing doorway flickered into existence—only visible to them.
"Who wants to try the first floor?"
And so everyone turned toward the entrance, curiosity drawing them closer. Even Piccolo leaned in, arms crossed, studying the energy.
Goku grinned. "A whole year of training in one minute? I'm going first!"
Kai chuckled. "Relax. The early floors aren't battles. More like… games."
"Games?" Krillin raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah. The first ten levels are meant to build instincts without pressure—movement challenges, strength puzzles, reaction games. Think of it like a warm-up disguised as fun."
Vegeta scoffed, though his tail flicked in interest. "Hmph. A Saiyan prince doesn't play games."
Kai smirked. "Tell that to the gravity-ball chase on floor two. You'll enjoy it."
Vegeta's pride wavered for half a second. "…Gravity-ball?"
Goten and Trunks sparkled with excitement. "THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!"
Kai tapped the doorway.
"But it changes after level ten. From there, things get serious. Floor by floor, the tower starts simulating near-death situations… realistic ones. Pain, fear, pressure—the full experience. But you can't actually die. At worst, it kicks you out for a week to recover and adapt."
Piccolo who showed up from god know where narrowed his eyes and said . "A consistent punishment with a built-in cooldown…"
"Exactly," Kai said. "It forces discipline."
Gohan stepped closer. "How many floors total?"
Kai shrugged lightly. "Still building the upper layers. But the active ones go up to 500 for now."
Goku's grin sharpened. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
Kai pressed his palm to the door. The entrance expanded into a shimmering portal, swirling with white-blue mist.
"First floor: Sky Tag. Don't get hit by the chasing light sphere. It adapts to your speed."
Goten gasped. "LIKE LASER TAG BUT IN THE SKY!?"
"Pretty much," Kai said.
Vegeta groaned but followed anyway. "If Kakarot goes, I'm not staying behind."
One by one, they stepped through—Goku first, Vegeta right behind him, then Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, the kids, even Android 18 with a sigh of resignation.
Bulma tapped Kai on the shoulder. "You sure they'll be fine in there?"
Kai looked into the glowing threshold as echoes of surprised yells and laughter drifted out.
He stepped through after them, letting the portal close behind." More then fine they will be better".
End Chapter 05
