Chapter 21 - Explosive Encounters

They spent hours in each other's arms, locked in the drifts of passion. Someone left food and water at the room's door every two hours. At first, the food went cold because they couldn't stop touching and feeling each other.

But as her attacks started to slow down, other basic human necessities started to show up. He fed her, and she tried to sleep a few times, but she always ended up being woken shortly after by a new heat wave.

It was almost morning when he entered her room the day before, and now it was dark outside. We have been at it for almost a whole day, she thought, surprised by the power of the drug, Locious's resistance, and her own body strength.

She was feeling better now, and her body was giving her around an hour of calmness. The smell in the room was starting to suffocate her, making her want to keep doing it with him. It wasn't because of a physical necessity now, but because she wanted to feel him again.

"Can we leave the room for a while?" she asked, sitting up in bed.

He was covered in sweat and had one arm covering his eyes. The lower part of his body was hidden by a thin white sheet, which gave him an angelic appearance like the cherubs from the movies.

"Let me see." He got up and put on his trousers. Once again, even though he was a monument when he was naked, with his messy hair speaking volumes of what they had been doing—his broad shoulders and marked abs exposed, the trousers hanging low from his hip bones with the zipper still open—he was breathtaking. Her mouth watered, and she squeezed her legs.

When he left, she fell hard back on the bed. Now that her body was not on fire, her mind was running at a hundred miles per hour.

What have I done? What have we done? What was he thinking, giving away his virginity?! I know he said I could die, but what were the chances of that, really? He said it was just an excuse, but was it? He seemed eager and I wouldn't say I held back, but... have we done the right thing? What happens now between us? she pondered, feeling the anxiety of tomorrow creeping into her heart.

"It's clear. Put on some clothes and let's eat something in the kitchen," he said and she looked at him. He was standing on the door frame as if there were not a million things they had to talk about. On the outside, he was the same old Locious, but maybe it was her anxiety, or maybe her senses were heightened after what they shared. There was something different about him. It was bad, but at the same time it was good. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something beyond the sexual situation had changed between them.

She had no idea where her underwear was, so she picked his up and put them on. Then she found his t-shirt and left for the kitchen. If anyone saw them at that moment they would say they were a normal married couple but they were not. They were a pair of friends, boss and employee, Angel and Emissary. They were all those things, but they also weren't.

What are we now? What happens with us from now on? she wanted to ask , but she had not got the courage to hear the answer. And Locious didn't seem to be dying to talk about it. He just asked her to sit on the kitchen island, turned on the stove, and started cooking something that smelled delicious.

A few minutes later, he placed a hot plate in front of her. It contained her favorite vegetables and a piece of meat cooked exactly how she liked. He didn't prepare food for himself but took out some kind of thin bread and ate it. She was about to ask what it was when the doctor entered the kitchen.

"How are you feeling?" he asked, picking up her arm and taking a new sample of blood.

He did the same procedure as before, but this time the liquid didn't change color. At least, not like before; only a small portion of it turned blue.

"Well, problem number one is solved. There is still a little bit of the component in your blood, so you will have to continue like this for a few more hours. However, your case is simply FASCINATING. My wife is dying to meet you. I could tell her that tom—"

"Crale, chill. You are making her uncomfortable." Locious never stopped eating and didn't look at them but he knew exactly what she was feeling. Crale looked at him and a faint smile appeared on his face. He didn't say anything about it but went on explaining things she couldn't really understand. Suddenly a loud shout made everyone jump.

"So you did it! You are a fucking idiot! Did any of what happened to me teach you anything, dumbass? How could you risk your whole future for a human? You don't even know if she will stay. She could just leave you tomorrow! I should really kill you right now!" Hariiel shouted, pushing Locious against the kitchen island and grabbing him by the neck.

She was about to stand up and break them apart when Crale stopped her, "Don't worry, they need to blow off some steam. You, on the other hand, are an amusing creature." She looked at him, perplexed. He wasn't paying any attention to the other two, who were entangled in a fistfight. Each punch seemed to carry enough force to make the kitchen supplies tremble, but at the same time they weren't strong enough to really hurt each other. Crale kept looking at her, mesmerized.

"I... Are you sure they are going to be okay?" she asked, her face full of worry as Locious landed a hard punch and tore a hole in the wall. Hariiel saved his face by a hair.

"Why are you so angry, hmm? Regretting it already? I can't believe I spent years training you for you to become such a dickhead! How many times have you had to rescue me from the pit I was thrown into?" he gritted through his teeth and kicked Locious in the stomach.

Locious grunted and retorted, "Are you even listening to yourself? Why are you so angry? Are you really scared of me ending up like you, or is it that you are scared you will have to leave your rabbit hole to aid me?" Hariiel froze at his words, looking at him with a perplexed face.

"Yeah, they needed to face the... Uh?" Crale, who turned to see them for a moment, fixed his gaze on her again. His brows knitted, and she suddenly realized she had been so worried about Locious and Hariiel that she hadn't noticed the waves of heat starting to flood her body. She grabbed the cold surface of the island, her knuckles reddened from the strength with which she was holding herself.

"Locious! Locious! She is having an attack!"

Locious turned at the sound and ran to her side. Hariiel was about to say something, but she didn't give him the time. She needed to feel Locious's skin. She jumped him and, like a koala hugging a tree, crossed all her limbs around him. Then she leaned in and kissed him desperately. She had a taste of him, and now she couldn't get enough.

He grabbed her tight and caressed her back, but as if it wasn't enough, he sat her on the counter and put his hand under her t-shirt. She went for his neck, and when he tried to give her access, he seemed to notice the other two who had been completely forgotten.

Four eyes were looking at them as if they had become a mythical beast. Locious glared at them as if he was also possessed, and in a low, almost beastly voice, he said, "Leave."

They remained pinned in place, so Locious, gaining a little focus, said again, "I'm serious. I can't control myself right now. Leave." A murderous aura surrounded him.

"No, wait… Is this normal? We can't..." Hariiel started, but Crale, noticing that Locious was about to snap, put a hand on Hariiel's mouth and grabbed him by the collar.

"Let's go to the Demon Association. Locious! Call me when everything is finished," Crale said, and taking a still-thrashing Hariiel with him, he disappeared.

"You fucking moron, there is something affecting the..." Crale's voice vanished in the distance, and the house was suddenly filled with moans and shouts. From the kitchen to the bedroom, from the bedroom to the bathroom. The silence of the empty house broken by the sounds of their lovemaking, and the traces of what they had done remained on their bodies until the next day.
