Curtis's heart dropped into his stomach.
Lara's words settled around him, and his stomach churned with panic.
His jaw dropped open, and Curtis had to blink several times as if he couldn't believe his eyes.
Hell, he couldn't believe his ears. "You're leaving?" he repeated Lara's words.
Lara held his gaze resolutely, and it was obvious that her mind made up.
"Yes. Yes I am. I can't stay here anymore, not when you've been lying and keeping secrets from me for months. You can hire a nanny to look after the kids, and as for the surrogacy fee, you don't need to pay it anymore. I don't want your money, Curtis. Have a nice life," she deadpanned and started to walk up the stairs to pack her clothes.
