Chapter 1 - First Look

On a worn down stage in a warehouse, hundreds of people came in to see a show, mostly because it was advertised that The Horsemen were going to show up. Many people came to the show, most were ordinary people just wanting to see them again, some just because they didn't believe in the horsemen. All of a sudden, the lights went out and all there was flashing light on stage and drum sound. All of a sudden, a tall man in mostly casual clothes and a leather jacket with headphones on appeared on stage. "Welcome, welcome. Now, I know you are all here to see the Horsemen but sadly, that was a little lie" he said as the crowd booed and started complaining. The man simply snapped his fingers and the whole place went so quiet you could hear a pin drop, if possible. The audience visibly tried talking but couldn't and couldn't even hear the outside until the guy on stage clapped his hands. "Well, I know you're disappointed but hear me out. Like you have a choice. Anyway, yes, the Horsemen aren't here. But I will do something they do all the time. Expose the corrupt and try to right their wrongs. Now, everyone here came at random right? Well, mostly. There is one person who is here I personally picked out" He said as the lights landed on a guy in the crowd. He was wearing a nicer suit than most and an expensive looking watch. "That right there ladies and gentlemen, is Fredrick Baton. The owner of the Oceania Vacation website that went down, ohhh five minutes ago? For months, his website targeted vulnerable families with brand new bank accounts using the new system update in the local banks. The website simply offered a free vacation and only needed you to buy tickets from their website. The only thing it actually did. Fredrick here used the card information to steal thousands and leave them stranded. But I have come to help out" He said as a fancy phone seemingly appeared in his hand as Fredrick patted himself down and realized it was his phone. "Fredrick, come on. For a hacker like yourself, or whoever you hired. You have poor personal security" The guy on stage said as several files of information tied Frederick to the scam. Frederick started to run but the man on stage threw the phone in the air and clapped, shattering it, the screens, and causing Frederick to wobble and fall to the ground as if he just got really drunk, the people next to him got dizzy as well. "We can't have you leave just yet, we have something much more-" he started to say as the police sirens were heard and Frederick got back on his feet. "Well, sorry everyone. But you should run. Sorry I can't do more but this is private property that I don't own" he said as everyone started running. A sound that included a lot of vase started and quickly got louder as the warehouse started shaking in creaking. The man vanished and just before the police got in, the whole place crumbled under the vibrations. Nothing more than dust and rubble was left.

"Haha, that was perfect Max!" A woman said as she hugged the man after he entered an abandoned factory across the city. The woman was gorgeous and extremely fit, with long black hair and red and green eyes. She was wearing clothes that are normally worn by construction workers. "Thank you Alice. It just took forever to set up those speakers. Such a waste though" he said as he took off his jacket and a huge wolf came to them and rubbed its head against Alice. "Good to see you too Luna. Do you both mind if I take off the headphones? It's getting uncomfortable and my ears need a break" Max asked as Alice both nodded and flicked a few switches, turning the lights and power off. Max started to take off his headphones but hesitated as he lifted them off. Almost as if he is focusing. He put them back on and flipped the switches. After the lights went back on, Atlas was standing on the other end. Luna started to growl as Alice calmed her down. "Impressive you knew I was here. I'm guessing you have extremely good hearing. Kinda strange for someone who uses sound" Atlas said. "Wow, I never expected Daniel Atlas to be right in front of me" Alice said as she squealed a bit as Max winced. "Impressive trick. Taking down not only Frederick but also destroying a warehouse that was about to be filled with drugs. Not bad at all. Needed a little more flair though" Atlas said as he pulled a card from his hand. It was a tarot card of the Tower. "You are in our group, only after one magic act" Atlas said that got them interested. "OK, but only if we bring Luna along" Max said.

[Author's Note: This is one of my side projects but I have been thinking for a long time. I will work a lot on this and you will be intrigued. I hope you enjoy it.]
