Chapter 61 - Chapter 62 - The Calm Before the Storm

The night after the event was one of pure peace in the Castro mansion. The house was immersed in sweet silence, interrupted only by the muffled laughter of Elisa and Eduardo in the master suite.

She was sitting in the newly arrived nursing chair, holding one of the baby shoes in her hands, while he lay on the bed, reading the book "First-Time Father" with his glasses perched on the tip of his nose.

Eduardo... listen to this, she said between laughs. "The baby might not smile for real in the first few weeks. Don't take it personally."

He looked up, laughing. So he'll take after his mother. You took months to smile at me.

Elisa threw the baby shoe at him, which he caught mid-air with sharp reflexes.

If I didn't have this huge belly, I'd come over there and pinch you.

Even with that huge belly, you're still dangerous... he murmured, getting up. He walked over to her and knelt at her feet.

He gently ran his hand over her rounded belly, feeling a slight movement.
