Chapter 2 - Slime Night Raid

From the plume-winged dragons that often flew overhead, Liang Chuan judged that he was somewhere within the forests of the Mistsplitter Lord's territory.

But the real Teyvat was nowhere near as "small" as the game version.

Without Teleport Waypoints, you couldn't sprint across nations in a few minutes.

After arriving here, Liang Chuan had been lost in the Mistsplitter Forest from the very beginning.

Fortunately, he had attended wilderness survival training camps before.

Life out here was uncomfortable, but at least he wouldn't die outright.

Three days later, he encountered a Hilichurl.

Though Hilichurls were essentially cursed humans twisted into monsters,

they were still monsters.

They never showed mercy to humans—

so Liang Chuan didn't show any to it either.

He killed the Hilichurl with a stone axe he had made himself.

And then something strange happened.

The moment the Hilichurl died, its body vanished.

At the same time, two lines of text appeared in his mind:

[Fourth Calamity System activated]

[Hilichurl conversion successful. Direct-kill conversion rate: 1%. Bio-energy +1]

At that moment, Liang Chuan's eyes lit up.

A transmigrator without a system? Impossible!

After studying the system, he realized he wasn't destined to die here.

Even if the Abyss invaded, he didn't have to fear it.

The Fourth Calamity System let him use bio-energy to construct "player bodies,"

summoning consciousness from other worlds to control them.

And the number of players he could summon… had no limit.

As long as he had bio-energy, the quantity of players he could summon could reach astronomical levels.

Not just filling Teyvat—

filling entire galaxies was possible.

Late at night, deep in the forest of the suspended wooden platforms,

a crackling noise jolted Liang Chuan awake.

"Bzzzt—bzzzt—!"

He grabbed his stone axe and carefully peeked through the window.

In the firelight, three Large Electro Slimes were inching toward his wooden shack.

"Large Electro Slimes… With only these small Hilichurls, this'll be rough," he muttered.

He might be able to kill them.

But the price would be disastrous.

Neither he nor the Hilichurls could use elemental power—

one touch of lightning and they'd be cooked.

Even counting the ones locked in cages and not yet collared,

he only had twelve Hilichurls total.

Even in a group fight, it was uncertain they could take down three Large Electro Slimes.

Running wasn't an option either.

From their movement pattern, these Slimes were clearly targeting him.

Liang Chuan glanced at the Electro Slime Condensate stored at his Workbench.

Had he hunted too many Electro Slimes lately to make beginner collars?

Were these ones here for revenge?

Either way,

this fight was unavoidable.

He slipped quietly out through the opposite window,

went to the cage holding idle Hilichurls,

grabbed two uncollared ones,

and threw them toward the direction of the Slimes.

Instantly, the Slimes focused on the two Hilichurls.

Lightning flickered—

CRACK!

A few bolts shot forward,

knocking both Hilichurls to the ground.

One of them didn't even twitch—completely dead.

Liang Chuan was stunned.

He hadn't expected the Slimes he casually killed in the game to be so lethal in reality.

"Move!"

With no time to lose, he lashed his whip,

driving ten armed Hilichurls toward the Slimes.

The moment they saw the glowing monsters, the creatures shivered and tried to turn back—

but Liang Chuan had expected this.

Hilichurls bullied the weak and feared the strong; he knew them too well.

The Supervisor Collars activated instantly.

The first Hilichurl that tried to flee convulsed and collapsed, paralyzed by electricity.

It could only watch the Slimes slowly approach before receiving an even stronger lightning strike.

Seeing this, the other Hilichurls understood.

Running meant being shocked and dying on the spot.

Fighting at least offered a tiny chance of survival.

Nine Hilichurls gathered their courage and charged.

Their stone axes and chisels struck the Electro Slimes,

making the lightning on the Slimes crackle even more intensely.

But stone tools were crude,

and Hilichurl strength was pitiful.

Though their attacks caused damage, it wasn't enough to kill.

Meanwhile, Liang Chuan hid at the side of the cabin,

holding a homemade crossbow—

the result of a month of scavenging in the forest.

He waited for an opening—

a chance to land a lethal shot.

The Slimes and Hilichurls continued to clash.

Perhaps provoked to desperation,

the Electro Slimes stopped moving and gathered an immense charge.

Liang Chuan's eyes sharpened.

A casting wind-up—

that was the moment he needed.

He pulled the trigger.

WHIZZ—!

The bolt shot forward and pierced the Slime's body.

BOOM!!

The Slime collapsed instantly.

A pleasant chime sounded in his mind.

"Huh? I leveled up?"

He opened his personal status window:
