Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Researching the System

The moon was bright and the stars were sparse.

"..."

The young girl looked up at the crescent moon in the sky, a troubled expression on her pretty face. She used to live mostly in the hospital.

To be honest, she didn't have much opportunity for free activity.

Simply put, the young girl wasn't very good at directions.

Furthermore, she was now in another world, and it was deep into the night. Wanting not to get lost… was a bit difficult for the young girl.

Where she was currently, and how long it would take to encounter humans, were completely unknown to the young girl…

So, the young girl stood there in a daze for a while, and then she chose to open the system.

Host: "Baal"

Race: "Unique Youkai."

Ability: "Ability to control electricity."

Strength: "Low-level Youkai."

These were the young girl's current ability values, which could be described as abysmal; even with the demon god residue fusion, her strength couldn't soar to the heavens.

Moreover, the original owner of the demon god residue didn't seem to be very strong, and wasn't very proficient in combat techniques either.

However, the owner of the demon god residue had a younger sister whose strength was incredibly powerful. If she had that terrifying strength.

She could truly begin a dragon-among-men life.

Of course,

The young girl wasn't looking at her weak strength again; she just wanted to see if the system had a map function or something similar.

If it did, she wouldn't have to worry about getting lost.

About three minutes later.

"No problem."

The young girl let out a sigh of relief, then set off again with a clear objective. After fiddling around for a while, she discovered that…

The system actually had a map navigation function, and it even allowed her to mark certain areas and write notes, with some places even showing place names.

It could be said to be extremely user-friendly… a fool-proof operation.

Moreover, the young girl also unexpectedly discovered a function: the system could provide weather forecasts.

That's right, the system could broadcast the weather for nearly a week in advance, and it would also thoughtfully tell you relevant precautions.

For example, to be careful of… mudslides and such.

Sky.

A gap suddenly opened.

"...How did she suddenly know the way?"

Yakumo Yukari watched the young girl leave with determined steps, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. She could clearly see… that the young girl didn't know the way.

Not long ago, she even veered off the path to Maple Village.

If nothing unexpected happened, the young girl named Baal would probably circle back and return to her starting point.

However, the young girl Baal seemed to have received a revelation.

Suddenly… she knew the way.

Ten minutes later.

"..."

The young girl bit her rosy lips, looking at the map navigation with some discouragement. She had walked continuously… for so long.

However, she had only covered a very short distance. Although it looked like a small distance on the map.

But, in reality… it was much farther than she imagined.

At this pace, she wouldn't reach the human settlement even by dawn. And more importantly, she was currently on an empty stomach.

Since transmigrating to this world, the young girl hadn't had a proper meal. The only thing she had eaten was the Youkai fruit that had directly killed her.

It was enough to make one shed a tear of sympathy.

How strange.

Why did it seem like other transmigrators always had smooth sailing? Even if they had deep-seated grievances, they weren't as uncool as her.

When it comes to the weakest transmigrator… she probably deserved a spot on the list.

"One day… I will live like a dragon among men!"

The young girl said angrily, then realistically opened the system again, wanting to see if the system could produce some food.

Now she didn't dare to eat things indiscriminately.

Otherwise, if she died again, there would be no saving her.

Therefore, she could only hope that the system could find some food. If it couldn't…

Then the young girl would consider… eating grass.

That's right, the young girl had seen some people on the computer who survived by eating grass and lived to tell the tale, unharmed.

Then as a Youkai, she should be much stronger than a human.

Eating grass… shouldn't kill her again.

And, considering the easy availability of grass, she might not have to worry about food sources in the future.

It was simply killing two birds with one stone.

The young girl cheered for herself with some sadness, then continued to ponder the system. She didn't know which genius developed the system.

The system's operation was completely… anti-human.

Even for someone like the young girl, who frequently used phones and computers, operating the system wasn't smooth.

It was completely like an operating system developed by another species.

It could be said to be very… difficult to use.

(…Saved!)

The young girl's lips curved into a joyful arc. She walked to the moonlit stream and sat down, took off her geta and stockings, then dipped her fair feet into the cold stream, playfully stirring the water.

After fiddling for a while, the young girl discovered the system store and, after reading the instructions, generally understood its nature.

The system store wasn't… able to exchange for everything. Only items that had appeared in a gacha draw would appear in the system store.

If an item had not appeared in a gacha draw, the corresponding item would not exist in the system store.

So, don't even think about exchanging for things like Pangu's Axe, Pangu's bloodline, Eastern Emperor Bell, or Nuwa's bloodline.

The young girl flipped through the system's store, and her pretty face became a little strange when she saw there were only ten items listed.

solomon's notes

Bicycle

Red Dragon Heart

demon god residue

self-heating ramen

azathoth's album

Yukino Yukinoshita's Panties

Knowledge of the Two-Dimensional Foil

Touko Aozaki's Doll

Broken Dragon Tooth

After browsing for a while, the young girl's gaze subtly shifted to 'azathoth's album'—could that really be considered a reward?

If she listened to it… she would probably go insane immediately.

However, fortunately, even if she wanted it, she couldn't afford it; the string of zeros after its price made one give up on buying it instantly.

Currently, she could only buy two items.

Yukino Yukinoshita's Panties

self-heating ramen

And for the young girl, of course, she chose the self-heating ramen; as for the beautiful girl's panties, that item held little meaning for her.

If she wanted to see panties, she could just look at her own… couldn't she?

"self-heating ramen * 2"

The young girl pressed twice into the void, and two buckets of self-heating ramen appeared before her. Based on her experience, one bucket of noodles was never enough, but two buckets made her feel uncomfortably full—a strange design.

She didn't know which strange genius designed it.

However, the young girl now felt like she could eat an entire cow; two servings of noodles would be effortlessly devoured.

Five minutes later.

The noodles were ready.

"The system is truly… convenient. Thank you, God, if not for you, I might have died again by now."

The young girl clasped her hands together in gratitude, then eagerly began to eat the noodles. The rich aroma bloomed on her tongue, causing her to reveal a satisfied expression, her eyes slightly narrowed, looking incredibly adorable.

In a few bites, the young girl finished the noodles and was eager to eat the second bowl.

However, it was gone.

It was stolen!

The young girl silently stared at the vanished noodles, immediately realizing who the culprit was: it must have been that golden-haired female Youkai who stole them.

"Too much!"

She looked around and said coolly.

Then, a gap opened in the void, and a fair, jade-like hand returned the noodles.

However, the noodles inside… had already been eaten.

But, there was a gold bar in the bowl, glowing with an intoxicating luster under the moonlight.

This should… count as payment for the meal, right?

"..."

The young girl picked up the gold bar, washed it in the stream, and then continued on her journey with the gold bar.

After all, she had only eaten one bowl of noodles.

The young girl felt there was no need to fuss over it too much.
