The world dissolved into white.
Not the soft kind of white light that comes with healing magic.
Not the warm, glowing type that his family's aura produced.

This was ancient.
Sharp.
Overwhelming.
A light that pressed into his lungs like unseen hands. A light that scrubbed at the air, stripping away every trace of darkness until there was nothing left but raw, blinding purity.
Leo held Amaya tighter as the cavern vanished around them. His ears rang. His skin burned. His heartbeat rattled against his ribs like a trapped animal.
"Amaya—!"
His voice vanished in the roar of light.
Then—
Silence.
The light dimmed slowly—condensing, folding inward like a curtain being drawn back.
And when Leo opened his eyes again…
They were no longer in the cavern.
