THREE DAYS LATER
The location Raziel had chosen was surprising. It was his throne room. Nyx was standing in the center, using her cane for support. Her leg was healing but still painful. The chamber was packed with all five kings, representatives from every territory, the forsaken leaders, palace guards, and hundreds of citizens.
Raziel stood up from his throne and descended to stand in front of her.
"This final trial is different from all the previous ones. You will not fight, will not solve puzzles. You will just make a choice."
"What choice?"
"The choice of what to do with power." He gestured, and servants brought forward a table with official documents. "These are legal papers including grants of authority, proposals for how hybrid integration will proceed now that legal recognition has passed."
He picked up the first document.
