Chapter 66 - THE INTERRUPTED DINNER

Nyx saw Raziel pacing in his chambers. He stopped mid stride when she entered, his eyes scanned her face with concern.

"How bad was it?"

"An eight on a scale of ten." Nyx closed the door behind her. "I was late, unprepared, and got called your bedwarmer to my face."

Raziel's expression darkened.

"Who…"

"Already handled." She walked towards him and placed her hands on his chest. "Though I may need your help with the actual problems we discussed."

"Anything."

For the next hour, she told him everything about the attacks, discrimination, and extremist group. Raziel listened without interrupting, his expression became more and more serious with each revelation.

"Seventeen attacks in three days, and nobody reported it to me?" He was furious. "Why wasn't I informed?"

"Maybe because your guards assumed they were minor incidents or they didn't think hybrid problems were important enough to bother you with. This is what systemic prejudice looks like."
