Chapter 31 - 31

"Angela, how are we going to explain this to Blaise?" Harry asked once he, Jet and Angela were alone in a classroom.

"What do you mean?" She asked as she began setting all the tables and chairs to the sides of the room.

"Well...it's going to be more than a little bit awkward explaining to my roommate that his sister is going to be mine to do with as I wish." Harry said in a dry voice.

"I don't know, sounds pretty simple to me." Jet replied. "Just go 'hey Blaise, your sister is mine now, deal with it.', that's what I would do."

"I have already anticipated that, don't worry." Angela replied. "I will deal with Blaise, I promise." She said before she drew a large white circle in the middle of the floor using her wand, once she was done she placed a bowl in the middle of the circle before sitting down in front of the bowl. Harry sat on the other side of the bowl. "Now Jet will have to leave the circle, sorry Jet, but we don't want to risk disrupting the ritual." She said apologetically.

"I understand, I'm so powerful that I would affect your ritual, it can't be helped." Jet said as he shook his head before climbing down from Harry and escaping the circle.

"Alright, are you ready Harry?" Angela asked as she pulled out a knife. "Do you remember how this works?"

"Yeah, you and me cut our palms, let some blood drop into the bowl and then we hold our cut hands together. We both chant for a bit before you swear to be my vassal, I accept and then hopefully we can get back to the great hall in time for lunch." Harry answered.

"That's about it," Angela nodded. "let's get started." She said.

It turns out that they were able to get to the great hall in time for lunch, Harry sat down in-between Daphne and Tracey while Angela sat opposite him, in-between Blaise and Theo.

"Blaise," Angela whispered to Blaise. "can I talk to you after we've finished eating?"

"In private?" He asked.

"Yep." Angela nodded.

"Um...okay." Blaise nodded.

"Good." Angela smiled, the rest of lunch continued with the Slytherin's enjoying some small talk before Angela and Blaise left together.

"I wonder what she wants to talk to him about." Tracey said.

"I have a feeling that somebody knows." Daphne said as she looked at Harry.

"Somebody might." Harry nodded without looking away from his food.

"Is there any chance that 'somebody' might be willing to tell the rest of us?" Draco asked.

"Well, 'somebody' might, but he'd like to wait until Angela and Blaise are done with their talk."

"This 'somebody' sounds like a git." Theo commented, earning chuckled from the others and a mild glare from Harry.

"The 'somebody' would like to remind you that he hasn't had a duel in ages and is looking for willing participants." Harry said with a small smirk.

"Draco, thanks for volunteering." Theo said quickly before returning to his food.

"What?" Draco blinked.

"Hmm...he'll do." Harry shrugged before going back to his food.

"What?!"

Harry was in his room, Jet was resting in Harry's bed while Harry was stood up and working on his shield charm, he had his wand in one hand and a book in the other.

"Harry," Blaise said when he entered the room. "I had a talk with my sister." He said in a quiet voice.

"Of course you did," Harry sighed as he set the book aside. "is that going to be a problem?" Harry asked. "Because I'd rather not spend the rest of our school years fighting."

"I...was mad at first, I admit." Blaise sighed. "I was tempted to pull my wand out and hex you but Angela explained how this was her choice and that I shouldn't be mad because it was either you or a fifty year old bloke who probably has a small noodle and bad breath, along with the fact that you would probably kick my ass if I did pull my wand on you. So...if it's between you and the fifty year old.." Blaise trailed off and shrugged.

"How nice of you to say that." Harry said in a dry voice as he rolled his eyes.

"You know what I mean," Blaise replied. "this isn't easy for me, you know. All I am saying is I don't have any problems with...this thing between you and my sister...just promise me you'll treat her good."

"I will do my best to treat her as she deserves, Blaise, I promise you that." Harry said in solemn voice.

"Thank you," Blaise said in an appreciative voice. "what are you doing anyway?" He asked.

"I'm working on my shield charm, do you think you could fire a spell at me?" Harry asked in a hopeful voice as he raised his wand.

"Well...I'm not a hundred percent over the fact that my sister is your slave...so it would be my genuine pleasure." Blaise grinned as he pulled out his wand.

"What's going on here?" Harry said as he came down into the common room along with Blaise, he found two first years dueling each other and recognized one of them as the Lestrange kid. Most of the Slytherin's were cheering for the other first year with only the youngest Weasley cheering for Lestrange.

"That first year was messing with the youngest Weasley," Daphne explained as Harry and Blaise stopped next to her. "Lestrange challenged him to a duel."

"Hmm, kids got balls at least." Blaise commented as they watched the duel, it wasn't the most exciting duel as they both were limited to first year spells but it wasn't bad as far as first year duels go. Harry noticed that Roman was pretty decent, the other kid was alright even if he had a habit of stepping forward with his right foot every time he cast an offensive spell.

"Lestrange is on the defensive." Daphne noted just as Lestrange jumped over a spell, he dodged another spell and tripped on his foot, he stumbled and his back crashed into Harry who caught him, Roman glanced back and his eyes widened.

"I...I'm sorry!" Roman quickly said when he realized just who it was that had caught him. Roman was about to move away when Harry pulled him in closer.

"Watch his right foot." Harry whispered into Roman's ear before he shoved him away. Roman blinked at Harry in surprise before he quickly turned his attention back to the duel in time to avoid a stinging hex to the face.

"Are you getting a new pet?" Jet asked from his position on Harry's shoulders.

"No, just offering advice." Harry replied. Thirty seconds later the duel finally came to an end when Roman managed to get a stinging hex on his opponents foot before he followed it up with a knockback jinx, Roman's opponent fell to the floor and his wand fell out of his hand.

"I win." Roman grinned.

"You cheated! I know you did!" Roman's opponent shouted.

"You're only saying that because I'm the one that still standing." Roman replied, not at all bothered by the words coming from his opponent. "Now, you remember the deal, I won so you have to apologize to Miss Weasley." He said as he gestured to Ginny. The boy growled but knew better than to try and get out of it in front of everyone, he stood up and looked at Ginny who was stood with her arms crossed and an expectant look on her face.

"I am...sorry for my comments." The boy said, looking as if the very words coming out of his mouth pained him.

"Hmm, I guess I accept," Ginny said after a moment. "since I'm sure you've learnt your lesson." She added with a small grin which did not help the first year boy who looked looked like he was going to pop a vein.

"That was nice of you to help him." Daphne whispered to Harry.

"Don't call me nice." Harry said in a mock offended voice, not noticing the pair of first year twin girls that were looking in his direction.

"Harry," Harry looked up and saw Tracey and Daphne standing in front of him, he was sat in the library, looking through a book on shields in the hopes to improve his own. "you have been in the library for ages." Tracey said with a small sigh. "Come on, it's time for you to eat." She said.

"Just five more minutes, please." Harry asked hopefully, giving her his best puppy eyes.

"Potter, put those adorable green emerald orbs away." Daphne said in a tired voice. "Come on, food now."

"Listen to my pet and eat already." Jet added.

"Fine," Harry sighed as he got up and put his stuff away. "alright, I'm ready to go." Harry said before Jet slithered into Harry's robes and wrapped himself around Harry's left arm, Harry followed Daphne and Tracey out of the library.

"What were you reading about anyway?" Tracey asked as the trio walked to the hall.

"Oh, I was reading about shield spells." Harry answered. "I wanted to learn how to make my own better and see what other spells I could use to shield."

"Find anything interesting?" Daphne asked.

"Yes, actually," Harry grinned. "I..." Harry paused and trailed off as he suddenly stopped upon turning the next corner. Daphne and Tracey saw what he was looking at and quickly stopped alongside him, they all started with wide eyes at the sight before them.

Mrs Norris, the cat of caretaker Filch, was frozen stiff and hanging upside down by her tail from a torch. Next to her was a message written on the wall, a message written in blood.

The Chamber Of Secrets Has Been Opened!

Enemies Of The Heir Beware!

"Enemies of the heir?" Tracey read with disbelief.

"We need to get out of here quickly." Harry said but before they could move a large amount of students came forward and stopped to see the message, then more students came and more after that. "Well...their timing is brilliant." Harry said in a dry voice just as the students all began whispering to each other and glancing at Harry.

"What is going on here?" A voice said just as Argus Filch made his way through the students. "Make way, make way." He said before he stopped in front of Harry and Daphne. "Potter, what are you..." Filch trailed off as he finally noticed Mrs Norris.

"We found her like this." Tracey said as she gestured to Mrs Norris.

"You...you murdered my cat." Filch said in a shaky voice.

"He did not." Angela said as she arrived behind Harry.

"Angela, it's fine." Harry said to her before turning to Filch. "I didn't do it, me and my friends just found her like that."

"You murdered my cat." Filch said once again as he walked towards Harry, his whole body shaking in anger.

"Look, I understand the connection between animals and humans better than most and I understand your anger but I didn't harm your cat."

"I'll kill ya," Filch growled as he grabbed Harry tightly by the collar, he didn't hear the intake of breath from the other Slytherin's, just like how he didn't notice them take a step back or how he ignored the way that Harry's eyes narrowed. "I'll kill ya!" He yelled as his hands moved to Harry's neck.

A few moments later Dumbledore arrived along with Professor McGonagall, Sprout, Flitwick, Snape and Lockhart. The second they stopped walking they saw Argus Filch flying towards them, he landed on Professor Lockhart, both of them falling onto the floor with Filch landing on top of Lockhart. Both groaning in pain, if anyone payed attention to the teachers then they would have seen the small smirk that briefly appeared on Professor Snape's mouth when he saw Lockhart on the floor.

"Touch me like that again and we are going to have more problems than just your cat." Harry snarled as he aimed his wand at Filch.

"Mr Potter, that shall be enough." Dumbledore said in a stern voice. Harry grunted and lowered his wand. "Now, perhaps you can explain to me why you have blasted my caretaker across the hallway?" He asked.

"Your caretaker put his hands on him," Angela growled. "if Harry hadn't blasted him then I would have."

"Headmaster." Snape said before anyone could reply, he gestured to the frozen Mrs Norris and the message on the wall.

"We found her like this, Professor." Daphne said quickly.

"He murdered my cat!" Filch shouted as he got up off of Lockhart. "And he attacked me!"

"You put your hands on me and are you deaf? Because if you're not then you would have heard me repeatedly say we found her like this." Harry said as he glared at the caretaker while Lockhart was getting up on his feet. "And I blasted because you grabbed me, while we are on that note, if you dare to touch me again then I will do worse than blast you."

"Mr Potter, please do not threaten my staff." Dumbledore said as he examined Mrs Norris. "Hmm, she is not dead, merely petrified. Everyone except Mr Potter, Miss Greengrass and Miss Davis, leave." He ordered, the other students reluctantly left, all apart from one.

"Miss Zabini, the headmaster had ordered you to go." Professor McGonagall said when she noticed Angela was still here.

"Professor, I have every right to be present for any events concerning Mr Potter, unless of course Mr Potter wishes for me to not be present." Angela calmly replied.

"Why would you say that?" Professor Sprout asked.

"Because I am his vassal." Angela proudly replied, showing no shame or embarrassment at all.

"His vassal?" Professor McGonagall gasped, she looked at Harry with wide eyes, so did Professor Sprout and Flitwick. Professor Snape looked between the two with narrowed eyes while Professor Dumbledore's eyebrows nearly went up into his hair while Lockhart looked at the two with disbelief and with a hint of what Harry thought was jealousy.

"Angela's your vassal?!" Daphne and Tracey blurted out in shock at the same time.

"It was a recent development," Harry shrugged. "and before any of you say anything, she was the one who convinced me to accept, not the other way around." Harry said before turning to the Professors. "I don't mind if she stays."

"Very well," Dumbledore said before anyone else could reply. "all of you will come with me."

"Headmaster, feel free to use my office, it's the closest." Lockhart said.

"Thank you, Gilderoy." Dumbledore said before he turned and walked with everyone following after him. A minute or two of awkward silences later and they were all standing in the defence against the dark arts classroom. "Now," Dumbledore said, calm as usual. "perhaps somebody can tell me what happened."

"They attacked my cat! I want justice!" Filch shouted as he held a petrified Mrs Norris in his arms.

"Alright, you're either deaf or suffering from selective hearing." Harry said as he glared at Filch with such intensity that the man actually took a step back. "This is going to be the last time I say it, so you will listen carefully, I...did...not...harm your cat."

"Professor Dumbledore," Daphne said before anyone could respond. "I can tell you what happened."

"In that case, the floor is yours." Dumbledore said before gesturing her to start talking.

"Tracey and I were about to head off to dinner when we realized that we didn't know where Harry was," Daphne began. "we found him in the library."

"I was reading a book on shield spells." Harry added.

"Shield spells?" Professor Flitwick asked in an interested voice.

"I've been practicing." Harry said as he pulled his wand out. "Protego." He said, speaking the incantation, a second later a light blue shield briefly appeared. "I'm still trying to work on getting it invisible like it's supposed to be and maintaining it." Harry added.

"Even then, that is still impressive for your age. Five points to Slytherin, Mr Potter." Professor Flitwick replied. "Now, Miss Greengrass and Miss Davis found you in the library, what happened then?"

"We told Harry that it was time for him to leave the library and go and eat." Tracey answered.

"If this is the case then I am sure that none of you will hold any objections against we ask our school librarian if you all were there?" Professor Snape asked.

"Ask away." Harry nodded. "Madam Pince will tell you that I was there. Anyway, once we left the library we came across Mrs Norris, and then he tried to attack me." Harry said as he gestured to Filch. "And I expect there to be consequences, he put his hands on me and tried to wrap his hands around my throat." Harry said, his voice lower than before.

"Mr Potter, please calm down." Dumbledore said.

"I let the Dursley's put their hands on me before and I am not letting anyone do that again!" Harry growled.

"Harry!" Angela said as she grabbed his arm, he frowned and looked at her, she gestured down to his wand. He looked down and saw it shinning brightly as what looked like a light blue ball made of lightning hanged on the tip. Harry took a breath and a few moments later the ball dispersed, Harry looked at the teachers and saw all but Dumbledore had taken a step back.

"Sorry." Harry apologized.

"It is fine, Mr Potter." Dumbledore replied. "I understand your anger, and I assure you that I will be having strict words with Mr Filch."

"Headmaster?" Filch blinked.

"I am willing to be slightly more forgiving than usual as you have clearly been made emotional by what has happened to Mrs Norris." Dumbledore said, his eyes locked onto Filch and lacking their usual twinkle. "But with that being said, the next time you place a hand on a student will be the last." He said before turning to Harry. "I will deal with Mr Filch, you and your friends may go." He said.

"Headmaster." Harry nodded before he and the other girls walked out.

"Well...that was dramatic." Jet commented.

A.N: Hi guys, hope you liked the chapter. I know that soon everyone will be suspecting Harry of attacking Mrs Norris and muggleborns, but I have something special planned for Harry's response and I hope you all will like it. Thanks for reading and feel free to leave a review.
