Chapter 89 - 89

"That was horrible!" Umbridge growled out, sitting in the comfort of her own office, she took a sip of some calming tea which unfortunately did very little to calm her down. Her hands were shaking and it took a considerable amount of effort to stop herself from accidently destroying her cup.

What happened in the great hall was not just the most embarrassing and horrifying moment of her career, but also her whole life, she was positive that Dumbledore was the person behind this. She was positively sure that the old man had done this to ruin her image along with the Minister's. She had to contact Cornelius straight away, he had to be informed as soon as possible. Hopefully she could use the incident to help convince him to take action.

She knew what she had to do, she had to get rid of Potter and Dumbledore, that will be the only way to properly have the order she needed. She would fix this school by getting rid of both of them.

"Alright, everyone who is interested in quidditch, listen up." Harry said out loud in the common room.

It had been a couple of days since the 'howler event' of the great hall, Fudge and his people were currently trying to deal with the public reaction which was probably why Umbridge hadn't attended a single class in the last two days, not that any of the students were complaining. During that time Harry had held quidditch try-outs for pretty much every position on the team with the exception of his own, much to the annoyance of the current quidditch team members. Draco had repeatedly complained about having to try-out but Harry had been unmovable in his decision.

The members of the quidditch team wanted badly to complain to their head of house but knew it would only make things worse. It was well known that Professor Snape had no love for Harry but it was only his skills in quidditch that caused Snape to make him quidditch captain, over the years Snape's dislike for Harry had not decreased but he was willing to admit that the wizard was talented in many areas, quidditch being one of them. And the sour potions teacher did not want to lose to Gryffindor or any of the other houses so it was very unlikely for him to actually do anything about Harry. Plus if they did complain then that could result in an upset Harry no matter what the results and nobody wanted an upset Harry aimed at them. The rest of the house wouldn't protest much against it either due to their own desire to win the quidditch school cup, so if Harry said that he only wanted players that earned their way onto the team then they weren't going to say anything.

"Now, if you're interested in knowing who the members of the Slytherin quidditch team are, then keep listening." Harry said once the attention of the whole common room was on him. "The first member, to nobody's surprise, is me." Harry said with a grin, earning a few amused snorts. "Firstly, our seeker was and still is Draco Malfoy."

"Yes!" Malfoy cheered loudly, Crabbe and Goyle clapping for him along with Pansy and a few other Slytherin's.

"Secondly, the beaters for the team are Frank Wick and John Castle." Harry said, gesturing to two six year students. Frank looked like a rough boy that you should avoid fighting with while John had a more 'quiet kid in the library that you shouldn't mess with' look. The two of them nodded appreciatively at Harry as a few people cheered for them. "Our keeper is Steve Barnes," Harry added, pointing to a seventh year student. Steve both smiled and blushed as a few people cheered for him. "And now onto the two chasers that will be joining me," Harry continued. "firstly, much to my surprise, we have young Ginny Weasley." Harry said.

"Well, don't look so surprised." Ginny huffed when several people stared at her with disbelief.

"Yeah, the little spitfire earned her spot." Harry grinned. "And the next chaser joining us is none other than the beautiful and lovely, Miss Davis." Harry said, aiming his grin at Tracey.

"Really?" Tracey gasped, eyes wide and a smile forcing its way onto her face.

"Yep." Harry nodded as a great many people cheered for her. "As for the former members of the team, I have a consolation present for you. You all, if you're willing to, will be able to stay on the quidditch team as our reserve team since you are all actually decent players. I'll put up a sheet for you to sign on the notice board if you want. Two days later I'll take that down and post up a sheet to tell everyone who our reserve members are. Now, I imagine you'll all want to cheer, there's no way we're going to lose the quidditch cup now." Harry grinned.

Professor Umbridge, having returned to the castle, walked around the hallways, trying to see if anything had noticeably changed. As she was walking she paused when she noticed a bunch of students were all rushing somewhere. At first she thought that they were perhaps rushing to a lesson or to the great hall but today was a Saturday and it was definitely not time for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

"Excuse me," She spoke, stopping a pair of male fourth year Slytherins. "but where are you all rushing off to?" She asked in an overly sweet voice.

"Potter's teaching a class, everyone with a brain is going there." One of them said before they both rushed off. It took Umbridge a few moments to process what she had just heard, once she was finally able to start moving again she ran after the boys, running as fast as her legs would carry her, a task that was made more difficult by the fact that she was wearing heels.

She followed them to a court yard where she found a whole bunch of students in a circle around Harry Potter. She could see students from every year and every house surrounding the famous wizard and was even able to spot Professor McGonagall and Professor Sprout watching over the group.

"Now," Harry spoke, looking around at the students around him. "the 'fire whip' is what one would classify as 'offensive' magic. Anyone want to tell me why?"

"Because it can be used offensively." Tracey said simply, Thor sitting on her shoulders while Jet was perched on Daphne's

"Correct," Harry nodded. "but it also falls into two other categories, the first being 'defensive'. Let me demonstrate." Harry said before he flicked his wand and a fire whip shot out from his wand, the whip was about two meters long. "Now, the whip is guided by your magic and intent," Harry said as the whip began moving without a single gesture from him. "but with that being said it works easier if you move your arm as that helps your mind which will help your magic." Harry said before he flicked his wrist up, the whip copied his actions. "This can be used defensively because - quite simply - I can use it to defend myself if someone attacks me." Harry said before he got rid of the whip. "Honestly, most spells are classified as defensive and offensive. It's not the best system in the world but it's simple enough to understand. For example, a colour changing spell wouldn't be classified as offensive or defensive unless in some very unique situations, with me so far?" Harry asked, after receiving several verbal confirmations he decided to continue. "The spell surprisingly does not fall into the 'dark magic' category."

"Why not?" One second year Gryffindor asked. "Isn't it dangerous?"

"Yes," Harry nodded. "but that's not what makes a spell become classified as dark. Nearly any spell can do damage if you're creative enough with it. I know how to cause serious and maybe even lethal damage with just two first year spells. Now, magic is about intent, the fire whip doesn't fall into true dark magic as it doesn't require deadly intent, as I demonstrated. I performed one without wanting to harm any of you, I can do a fire whip without wanting to harm you all, what I cannot do without sufficient intent is properly perform an unforgivable curse. To perform those spells you have to want to cause harm or kill, if you don't then it won't work. There are many different classifications of magic, such as offensive and defensive, but there is also light, neutral and dark magic. Light magic being magic that requires positive emotions."

"Like the patronus charm?" A female sixth year Ravenclaw asked.

"Exactly," Harry said, smiling as he did so, something which caused the girl to blush. "that requires positive emotions to work. Dark magic requires negative emotions such as anger and hate. Neutral magic is - in simple terms - magic that doesn't really need either. For example, the wand lighting spell, sure it might make you happy to perform it the first few times but for an experienced witch or wizard it is simply a way to get a light. If you have positive or negative emotions when using the spell then it will surely affect it but you don't need to feel positive or negative emotions when performing the spell once you've mastered it."

"What is going on here?!" Umbridge quietly hissed to Professor McGonagall and Professor Sprout as she rushed over to the women, the students hadn't heard her at all since they were all focused on Harry.

"Dolores, control yourself." Professor McGonagall said in a disapproving voice. "Now, whatever is the matter?"

"Are you seriously asking me that?" Umbridge looked at Professor McGonagall with disbelief. "Potter is teaching these students dark magic and..."

"Ha," Professor Sprout snorted. "clearly you have not been paying attention to Mr Potter's lecture. We, on the other hand, have been and he has not been teaching them dark magic. If you had listened then you would have heard him explaining what the differences are between dark, light and neutral magic."

"Something which I would dare say would make your job easier." Professor McGonagall commented.

"Potter is not a teacher," Umbridge protested, red-faced. "he has no right to start teaching a class full of all of Hogwarts."

"I would say all of Hogwarts is an exaggeration." Professor Sprout frowned, looking at the students. "A great many, yes, but not all of Hogwarts."

"That's not the point!"

"Dolores," Professor McGonagall sighed. "Mr Potter had simply been helping a few younger students."

"Yes," Professor Sprout nodded. "word then got out and the other students started piling in when they heard about it, all of them seemingly want to learn from Mr Potter." She added.

"I can't say that I blame them." Professor McGonagall said, interrupting Umbridge who had opened her mouth to speak. "I mean the boy is a Tri-Wizard tournament winner and has accomplished so much for one so young, even being an animagus!"

"That's not to mention the minotaur, manticore and dragon." Professor Sprout chuckled. "If I was still a student then I would also be doing my best to attend a lecture from Mr Potter."

"Same here," Professor McGonagall agreed. "I dare say that Mr Potter makes quite a good teacher, perhaps he would be willing to become a Hogwarts Professor in the future."

"Oh, the students would be flooding in!" Professor Sprout laughed.

"There is no way on Earth that a menace like Mr Potter will be allowed to work in this school." Umbridge spoke quickly, cutting off any further response. "Now, why haven't either of you stopped this?"

"Why should we?" Professor Sprout blinked.

"Yes, why?" Professor McGonagall asked. "No rules are being broken, nor has Mr Potter been teaching them anything that is inappropriate by the standards of Hogwarts or the Ministry. Not to mention that Professor Sprout and I have both been here to make sure that nothing untoward happens." Umbridge stared at the two of them for several long moments before she forced a smile onto her face.

"Well...if you'll excuse me, I have some things I need to take care of." She said in a sweet voice before she turned and walked off.

The next day the students that all passed the great hall could not help but notice a sign that was placed on the wall.

"Harry," Angela said as they stopped by the sign. "this is not good."

"Definitely not." Harry agreed as he looked at the sign.

EDUCATIONAL DECREE NO 23:

DOLORES JANE UMBRIDGE HAS BEEN APPOINTED TO THE POST OF HOGWARTS HIGH INQUISITOR.

"What the hell is a 'Hogwarts High Inquisitor'?" Blaise asked.

"Whatever it is, it's probably not good for us." Harry replied.

"Could always just kill the bitch." Jet helpfully suggested.

A.N: Hi guys, hope you liked the chapter. Just want to say a few things:

1) I don't own Harry Potter, naturally.

2) If anyone is willing to become a patron then you'll get early access to my Widow's Vengeance and Emerald Dragon stories. Plus in the future there may be other awards such as voting on my next story. If you want to support me on pat-reon then just go on the webstie and search up JB21Q.

3) I'm thinking about opening a discord for my patrons but I don't know how much work that would be and I am very busy, when I'm not writing I work 48 hours a week at a factory on a normal week and have a bunch of other stuff I need to do such as housework, shopping, family time, etc. Anyone willing to tell me more about it? Plz.

4) Also I know a lot of people leave reviews but I've turned off notifications on my phone because I kept getting too many emails so I'll only check reviews before writing up a chapter for a story, I'm not trying to ignore anyone. Same for those who message me, I either become busy or forget to respond, that's why I take so much time to get back to you guys.

5) Also I know that I'm pretty shit at coming up with names, for those who haven't worked it out, the names from the Slytherin team were pretty much just combinations of Frank castle, John Wick, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. Sorry but bad at names.

Thanks for reading, feel free to leave a review.
