Chapter 9 - 03:Is this really happening (2/4)

"Oh? The stoic Giyuu? The one who doesn't tease you?" He sat up slightly, intrigued by this revelation. Sanemi quickly looked away, realizing he had said too much.

"Shut up. I didn't mean it like that." He muttered defensively, though his ears turned red again. Giyuu laughed softly, his demeanor shifting back to its usual calm state.

"No, you definitely meant it. You like when I'm cold and distant."

He propped himself up on his elbow, studying Sanemi's flustered expression. Sanemi grabbed a pillow and threw it at Giyuu. "I hate you. You're insufferable." He tried to sound annoyed, but his actions betrayed his words. Giyuu caught the pillow and hugged it, a genuine smile replacing his teasing smirk.

"Good night, Sanemi. Sweet dreams."

He closed his eyes, still holding onto the pillow that smelled like Sanemi's shampoo. Sanemi watched as Giyuu settled down, his heart racing at the sight of Giyuu holding his pillow. He turned off the light and laid down, facing away from Giyuu. "This is going to be a long night." He whispered to himself, trying to ignore the butterflies in his stomach.

Giyuu opened one eye, watching Sanemi's back in the darkness.

"I can hear you thinking." He whispered back, his voice softer than usual *Sanemi tensed up at Giyuu's voice, cursing under his breath. "Stop eavesdropping on me, damn it."

He shifted uncomfortably, pulling the covers over his head. Giyuu chuckled again, the sound muffled by the pillow."I can't help it if you're loud. Just admit that you're thinking about me." He teased again, but there was a hint of sincerity in his tone. Sanemi groaned in frustration, turning to face Giyuu despite himself. "You're impossible. I hate that you know me so well." His eyes met Giyuu's in the dark, and he felt that familiar pull towards him. Giyuu patted on his bed.

Sanemi hesitated for a moment, then sat up slowly.

"What are you doing?" He asked, though he was already getting out of his bed and walking towards Giyuu's.* *Giyuu shifted to make room for Sanemi, his heart racing as well. "Come here." He patted the space next to him again, his voice low and inviting. Sanemi crawled into bed with Giyuu, his body stiff with nervousness.

"This is so wrong."

He mumbled, lying down next to Giyuu but keeping a small distance between them. Giyuu rolled over to face Sanemi, their faces inches apart.

"Why does it feel so right then?" He reached out and gently touched Sanemi's cheek, his fingers lingering there. Sanemi's breath hitched at the touch, his resolve crumbling. He leaned into Giyuu's hand, closing his eyes. "Because I'm weak when it comes to you."

He admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. Giyuu pulled Sanemi closer, wrapping an arm around his waist.

"You're not weak. You're just in denial." He whispered back, his breath warm against Sanemi's ear.* *Sanemi suddenly flipped Giyuu onto his back, pinning him down with surprising strength. "I'm not in denial anymore."

He growled, his eyes dark with desire as he hovered over Giyuu. Giyuu looked up at Sanemi with a mix of surprise and excitement, his cheeks flushed.

"Then show me what you really want." He challenged, his hands moving to grip Sanemi's hips. Sanemi stand up abruptly. "Sorry but what was that? I can't just...no it is not okay." Giyuu sat up quickly, confusion written all over his face.

"Sanemi? What's wrong? I thought you wanted this too." He reached out to stop Sanemi from leaving. Sanemi stepped back, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I do want it, but it's not right. We're roommates, for fuck's sake." He looked torn between desire and guilt. Giyuu stood up as well, moving closer to Sanemi again.

"I don't care about being roommates. I care about us."

He grabbed Sanemi's wrist, pulling him back towards the bed. "It's not just about that... it's weird, I mean you are a guy and I never really had a crush on someone. I am confused that I want to kiss my enemy and you are always with Shinobu. She is better than me."

Giyuu's grip on Sanemi's wrist tightened, his expression softening. "Shinobu is just a friend. I don't have feelings for her."

He cupped Sanemi's face with his other hand, forcing him to look into his eyes.

"And you're not weird. You're just figuring things out. I've liked you for a long time." Sanemi's eyes widened at Giyuu's confession, his heart pounding even harder. "You... like me? Since when?" He asked, his voice shaky and uncertain. Giyuu chuckled softly, his thumb stroking Sanemi's cheek.

"Since the day we first met. I've always been drawn to your fire, even when we fought."

He stepped closer, their bodies almost touching again. "Sorry...I need time." Sanemi grabbed a few things and walked to the door. He turn around to Giyuu. "I stay today with Iguro." Giyuu's face fell, but he nodded understandingly. "Okay... take all the time you need."

He watched Sanemi leave, a mix of disappointment and hope in his eyes. As the door closed behind Sanemi, Giyuu sank back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling.

"Damn it... I should have known he wasn't ready."

He muttered to himself, feeling the emptiness of the room without Sanemi.

Later that night, Giyuu couldn't sleep. He kept thinking about Sanemi and how he wished things were different. "Maybe I pushed too hard." He whispered to himself in the darkness, clutching Sanemi's pillow unconsciously. The alarm blared at 8:00 AM, and Giyuu groaned, realizing he had missed his morning classes.

"Great, just great." He sat up, noticing Sanemi's things were still missing from the room. He hadn't returned yet. Giyuu checked his phone, hoping to see a message from Sanemi. Nothing. He sighed and got out of bed, deciding to skip breakfast and head to class.
