Chapter 46 - Cat cuddles

Sanemi moved quietly around the kitchen, gathering ingredients for pancakes and coffee. The aroma of brewing coffee soon filled the air, but Giyuu remained blissfully asleep in the other room.

Sanemi hummed softly as he mixed the batter, occasionally glancing at the clock - it was already 10am. "Time to wake up my sleeping beauty." Sanemi walked back into the bedroom with a tray of breakfast and a determined smile. "Wake up, sleepyhead. I made your favorite pancakes." He sat on the edge of the bed, setting the tray down carefully before poking Giyuu's cheek.

"Come on, Giyuu. The food's getting cold and I'm not letting you sleep all day." Sanemi sighed dramatically, setting the tray aside and grabbing a pillow.

"Fine, if you won't wake up for pancakes..."

He playfully smacked Giyuu with the pillow, grinning mischievously. "Rise and shine, princess! I know you can smell the coffee." Giyuu finally stirred, batting the pillow away with a groan. "Five more minutes... let me sleep..." He rolled over and buried his face in the pillow, pulling the blanket tighter around himself. Sanemi rolled his eyes fondly and climbed back onto the bed, straddling Giyuu's hips.

"Nope. No more sleeping. You've been hogging the bed all morning." Sanemi began tickling Giyuu's sides mercilessly, knowing exactly where he was most sensitive. "Wake up, or I'll keep doing this until you beg for mercy!" His fingers danced across Giyuu's ribs and stomach, while he held him down with his legs. "And I brought syrup for the pancakes... they're getting cold." Giyuu finally let out a burst of laughter, trying to squirm away from Sanemi's tickling attack. "Okay, okay! I'm up! Stop torturing me!" He grabbed Sanemi's wrists, attempting to catch his breath between giggles.

"You're such a menace in the morning..."

Sanemi grinned triumphantly, leaning down to steal a quick kiss from Giyuu's lips. "That's more like it. Now sit up and eat before I decide to make you pancake art instead." He reached for the tray again, holding it steady while keeping Giyuu pinned beneath him. "I even drew a little heart with syrup." Giyuu sat up reluctantly, rubbing the sleep from his eyes while looking at the tray. "You're lucky I love you, you know that?" He accepted the plate of pancakes, noticing the slightly wonky heart design.

"And you call me a messy cook."

Despite his teasing, he couldn't help but smile at Sanemi's effort. Sanemi stuck his tongue out playfully, grabbing his own plate. "At least mine looks better than your usual burnt attempts." He took a bite of his pancake, then leaned against Giyuu's shoulder. "So, what should we do today? We have the whole weekend." Giyuu considered this while sipping his coffee, his expression thoughtful. "We could go to that new cafe downtown. The one with the cat lounge?" He cut into his pancakes, glancing at Sanemi with a hopeful look. "Or maybe catch that new action movie you've been wanting to see?" Sanemi's eyes lit up at the mention of the cat cafe.

"The cat cafe sounds perfect! I need more pictures of you with cats on my phone." He pulled out his phone and pretended to take a photo of Giyuu, making exaggerated clicking sounds. "And then we can get those fancy coffee drinks they advertise." Giyuu rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his smile at Sanemi's enthusiasm. "You just want to see me embarrass myself trying to pet them." He finished his breakfast and set the plate aside, stretching his arms above his head.

"But fine, let's go. Just don't post any embarrassing videos online this time." Sanemi stood up, gathering their plates with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"No promises. Your cat whisperer skills are too precious to keep secret." He carried the dishes to the kitchen, calling back over his shoulder. "Get dressed! I want to be there before the afternoon rush." Giyuu reluctantly got out of bed and started searching for his clothes, grumbling under his breath. "You're impossible, you know that? Always plotting against me with your phone." He pulled on a comfortable sweater and jeans, running a hand through his messy hair.

"Are you going to wear that stupid cat sweater again?" Sanemi emerged from the kitchen, wearing his infamous cat-themed sweater with pride. "Of course! It's my good luck charm for getting cute pictures of you." He twirled around, showing off the sweater's silly cat faces. "Besides, it matches your cat-loving personality perfectly." Giyuu shook his head, unable to hide his amusement at Sanemi's antics.

"You're ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous."

He grabbed his wallet and keys, heading toward the door.

"Let's just go before I change my mind about this whole cat cafe thing." Sanemi followed, wrapping an arm around Giyuu's waist as they walked out. "Too late! You're stuck with me and cats now." He pressed a quick kiss to Giyuu's temple. "And maybe later we can grab some ramen too. I'm thinking that new place with the spicy broth." Giyuu leaned into Sanemi's side, his earlier grumpiness melting away. "Fine, but you're paying for both. And if you make me spill my coffee on the cats, I'm making you sleep on the couch." He locked their apartment door behind them.

"Now let's go before you start telling everyone about my 'cat whisperer' skills in the elevator." Sanemi mimed zipping his lips shut, but his eyes danced with mischief. "My lips are sealed... for now." He pressed the elevator button and pulled Giyuu closer. "But I make no promises about my phone camera being silent." Giyuu groaned dramatically as they stepped into the elevator. "I swear, if I see you taking pictures while I'm covered in cat fur, I'm stealing your phone."

The elevator doors closed, and he gave Sanemi a warning look.

"And I'm not just talking about regular pictures. I mean all your embarrassing ones too." Sanemi just smirk and lick Giyuu's ear subtle. Giyuu jumped slightly at the unexpected sensation, his cheeks flushing red.

"S-Sanemi! Not in public!" He pushed Sanemi away playfully, though he couldn't hide his smile. "You're impossible today. Can't you wait until we're at least outside?" Sanemi grinned wickedly, clearly enjoying Giyuu's flustered reaction. "What? I just wanted a taste of my favorite snack before we go." He stepped closer again as the elevator descended.

"Besides, no one's here to see us right now."

Giyuu quickly checked the elevator panel, seeing they still had a few floors to go. "You're lucky this thing moves slowly. But we're definitely talking about your public indecency later." He tried to maintain a stern expression but couldn't help the small smile tugging at his lips.
