Chapter 1 - Kurayami Private Academy

"We have arrived at the final stop!"

A bus driver informed the only remaining passenger.

"This is the last stop. From here, you will need to walk ten kilometres along the road ahead to reach your destination."

"Thank you," said a young passenger wearing a school uniform.

The public bus stopped right at a small bus stop marked "Kurayami Private Academy".

After the male passenger got off the bus, it immediately started moving again before turning around and heading back in the direction it had come from.

After turning his head to the right and left, he sighed. "So I have to walk on my own from here, huh..."

A boy wearing a traditional school uniform—a gakuran uniform—looked in the opposite direction from the bus.

With unwavering conviction, the young man named Kazehaya Kazuya began to follow the advice given to him.

Although he had to walk ten kilometres, for Kazehaya Kazuya this was not a big deal, especially with tall, dense pine trees lining both sides of the road accompanying him.

After a long journey that took approximately two hours, there were no signs of fatigue or even a single drop of sweat on his body. All this is thanks to the tall, dense pine trees which make the trip always cool.

Kazehaya Kazuya stood in front of a gate with high walls—about ten metres high—that surrounded it, making it look like a prison or perhaps a place of exile?

A signboard reading "Kurayami Private Academy" was clearly visible on the side of the wall.

Regardless of its appearance, Kazehaya Kazuya finally arrived at the place that would become his new life.

Kurayami Private Academy is the private school that will be his new home.

Although he did not fully understand the reason for his transfer, he still felt very excited about his new prospects.

Kazehaya Kazuya. A nineteen-year-old young man is about to make his debut as a transfer student at this school.

"You're finally here," said a woman's voice from behind the gate. "I was wondering what was taking you so long. I got bored waiting, you know~?"

A beautiful young woman with auburn hair tied back appeared and opened the gate.

Kazuya recognised the woman. Her name was Amasawa Reiri. She was an old acquaintance of his.

"If you're bored, why don't you come and pick me up? Didn't you say you would wait for me in front of the bus stop?"

Reiri put both her hands together in front of her chest and bowed. Her long sleeve beige could not hide the curve of her prominent breasts, revealing their large, full shape.

"Hehehe. Sorry, I forgot!"

She was still the same as before. Kazuya watched Reiri apologise without feeling the slightest bit guilty.

"Well then, let's go! We can't keep the Principal waiting."

Reiri walked cheerfully, leading the way to the Principal's Office.

***

After a few moments, Kazuya and Reiri arrived at the the Principal's Office door.

*Knock knock knock*

It didn't take long after Reiri knocked on the door for a reply to be heard from behind it.

"Come in."

After receiving permission from the owner of the room, Kazuya followed Reiri, who had opened the door, into the room.

The first thing that caught Kazuya's eye when he entered the room was a sturdy black wooden table with matching sofas on either side.

Although it looked a little luxurious, the furniture was intended only for entertaining guests.

When Kazuya shifted his gaze to the other side, there were two bookshelves in both corners of the room, filled with many neatly arranged books and documents.

After taking in the entire room in a single glance, Kazuya's gaze finally fell upon the owner of the room, who was sitting behind a desk at the far end of the room—a stunningly beautiful young woman with long black hair.

"It's been long time, Kazuya. How have you been lately?"

"...I've learned many new things over the past year. Things like painting, cooking, and even playing video games." There was a brief pause before Kazuya replied.

This is only part of what he did, but Kazuya truly spends his time freely, doing whatever he wanted.

Kazuya bowed his head. "None of this would have happened without your help, Miss Mizuho."

Kazuya was truly grateful for what she had done for him. He could be as strict as possible, especially when it came to debts and repaying favours.

Principal Kurayami saw Kazuya bow his head behind her glasses—even though her eyes were actually normal.

"I've told you many times that you don't need to overdo it. But if that suits you, then I won't say anything else." Principal Kurayami Mizuho acknowledged Kazuya's insistence and smiled slightly. "At least it's not a bad thing."

"I agree with that too~" said Reiri with a smile, one of her fangs protruding.

"Let's get back to the main point. First of all, as the Principal, I have to explain a few things to you about this school."

Principal Kurayami spoke in a firm tone and stared at Kazuya with sharp eyes.

"First. It is forbidden to leave the school grounds without permission.

Second. You are free to do anything as long as it is not a crime.

Third. Every student must follow all the rules that apply in this school.

Fourth. In case of an emergency, all of the above rules are completely disregarded."

These four points were not a problem for Kazuya; on the contrary, he was quite surprised that the rules were actually much more lenient and liberal than at most schools in general.

"Is there anything you don't understand or want to ask?"
