Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 reward has been credited!

Inside the salamander armored vehicle,

Li Feng, wearing Astra Militarum armor and a helmet with the double-headed eagle emblem, sat in the salamander's cockpit, holding his backpack and feeling the bumps.

Commissar Cain, meanwhile, held Li Feng's Glock pistol, examining it intently. In the Schola Progenium, he had never seen such a weapon in any textbook; he was certain this gun was absolutely not on the Imperial forces' service list.

However, the craftsmanship of the gun was exceptionally exquisite, with "Glock-1 Made in Austria" engraved in High Gothic on the slide. Did the Imperium have ammunition of this caliber? And which Forge World was Austria? Cain thought for a moment and roughly guessed that this gun was probably just a "toy" custom-made by the young master from Terra.

Although many thoughts ran through his mind, Commissar Cain's expression was not good, because the smell emanating from Yugen made Cain feel as if he were sitting in a dry latrine, and even a dry latrine would be much better.

Li Feng felt nothing; he didn't smell anything. The gunner beside him was just an ordinary Soldier. In fact, Li Feng was currently looking at the interface on his retina, where he saw three achievements pop up on his "Cheat Engine & Wemod & Nexus Mods."

"Welcome New User, awarding a Newbie Gift Pack."

"Congratulations on killing an Ork Boy, rewarding the unlocking of Cheat Engine item value search and modification."

"Congratulations on killing an Ork Small Boss. Due to melee killing under difficult circumstances, the reward is enhanced, unlocking infinite stamina."

Li Feng instantly felt all the fatigue and muscle soreness in his body vanish. After Li Feng selected the Newbie Gift Pack, several entries and a slot machine panel appeared.

"Newbie Gift Pack, Reward: One lottery draw. Reward: Excellent Physique, increasing strength, speed, reaction... to 1.5 times that of an ordinary person's physique."

Then the slot machine panel appeared, with three spinning grids, each labeled "Ability," "Mod," and "Item"... The slot machine automatically started, and as it finished spinning...

"Ability: 'Walking STC.' As long as you understand the working principle of an item, you can generate an stc template at any time for manufacturing."

"Mod: Obtained item - Call of Duty: Sheffield's silver Colt Python .44 Magnum revolver. PS: This gun can kill North American grizzly bears."

"Item: Otherworld Survival Pack... Already placed in your backpack... Your backpack is too small, it has now been expanded."

While Commissar Cain was examining the pistol, he noticed that Li Feng's backpack had suddenly grown larger. Was that bag really that size just now? Cain thought this as he returned the now empty pistol to Li Feng's hand.

When Li Feng took his pistol back from Cain, the panel displayed:

"Glock-19, 9mm, Magazine count = 0, Spare ammo = 0, Weapon condition 99%."

Li Feng immediately adjusted the magazine count to 5 and the spare ammo to 300 FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) rounds. Then he looked inside his backpack.

His backpack was now stuffed with many things. Li Feng could clearly see a 56-type assault rifle (AKS) with a folding stock and several Glock magazines and boxes of ammunition on top of the other items.

Li Feng looked at the Glock in his hand and the AK in his bag, a mix of emotions swirling within him... tasteless but regrettable to discard... He didn't know if these two guns could even kill a mutated dog in this world... But Li Feng had bought them himself, so throwing them away would be too wasteful.

(Incidentally, the Imperial Guard's assault rifles officially use 8.25mm rounds, which are roughly similar to our full-power rifle rounds, though the propellant and warhead are certainly more advanced. If you want to get a feel for it, you can look at the FAL, M14, or SCAR-H, which use 7.62 × 51, it should be similar.)

...Gradually, the silhouette of the artillery camp appeared through the heat haze. The camp was built on a sandy area in the lee of a cliff, like an island in an ocean on land.

Soon, the salamander armored vehicle returned to the army's position. Li Feng followed Cain out of the salamander, and then saw various calibers of cannons within the position.

Subsequently, a huge roar came over, and on the artillery position, several massive earthshaker cannons began to deliver deathly greetings to the enemies on the front line.

Li Feng pulled out his Earmor M32 tactical pickup noise-canceling headphones from his bag and put them on. Cain was a little puzzled at this point... "Your bag is like a bag of holding; how do you have everything in it?"

Cain saw Li Feng wearing earmuffs, so he teased him quietly. He didn't expect Li Feng to hear him, as the sound of the cannons combined with his own soft voice would be hard to discern. But Li Feng replied:

"I have quite a lot of things in this bag."

Cain was dumbfounded: "You can hear me? You're wearing earmuffs?"

"Yes, I can hear you. These are sound-pickup noise-canceling headphones. Here, try them."

Li Feng said, taking off his headphones and handing them to Cain. When Cain put them on, the sound of the big cannons outside was indeed much quieter, but the voices of people around him were heard clearly.

"Young man, where did you get these from?"

Li Feng smiled: "Sacred technology from ancient Terra."

Cain chuckled, then took off the headphones and returned them to Li Feng. He now suspected that Li Feng had stolen this item from some museum on Terra.

Soon, Li Feng and Cain arrived at a tent. Cain pulled open the tent flap and motioned for Li Feng to enter. Li Feng followed Cain into the tent, where a man in an officer's uniform stood by a desk.

"Colonel Lao Mo, this young man is someone I picked up on patrol. He's from Holy Terra. He hopes we can contact Holy Terra to have his family pick him up."

Colonel Lao Mo raised his eyes and glanced at Li Feng... smooth skin, tender flesh, wearing high-quality clothes, hands clearly unused to labor... indeed like a young master.

"Alright, Commissar. Go arrange for a few Soldiers to help him set up a tent nearby. We will send someone to contact the fleet about this matter."

With that, Cain led Li Feng out of the tent. On the way, Sergeant Yugen, the gunner, was already following behind, carrying a field tent. As Li Feng walked, he suddenly asked Cain:

"Commissar Cain, are we currently on the planet Dislathia?"

Cain, walking ahead, said: "Yes, we are fighting Orks on Dislathia V. Don't sneak out at night; Orks like to catch human children at night and boil them for hot pot!"

Cain said this, actually just wanting to scare the young man, lest he cause trouble again. As long as he behaved until the transport ship arrived, and then before leaving, he could put in a good word for him in front of his family, and later ask a merchant caravan to send him some snacks and fine wine, that would be enough.

But Li Feng's next words sent a chill down Cain's spine:

"Commissar, but what if... I mean, what if! What if the Tyranids come?"

Cain's steps faltered slightly. He now wanted to turn around and give the jinx a rap on the head, but... First! The other party's identity didn't allow it! Second, he had single-handedly killed a Small Boss, so Cain might not be able to defeat him.

"Well, it's better to talk less about such things on the battlefield. Sergeant Yugen! Hurry up and set up the tent!"

Hearing the name, Li Feng immediately turned to look at the Soldier carrying the tent. Yugen! Commissar Cain's most loyal adjutant, and also the legendary "Untouchable"! Also known as a "Silent Sister."

Li Feng watched Yugen hurry past him, carrying the tent to set it up for him. Li Feng felt strange; why did he not feel any discomfort around him, or even smell any odor? In his eyes, Sergeant Yugen was just an ordinary, big Soldier.

"Untouchables," also known as "Anti-Psykers," are human individuals with a special gene. They are born with an extremely rare genetic mutation called "Psyker Void." This mutation causes them to completely lack a soul or connection to the Warp, resulting in a blank area around them that Psykers and Warp powers cannot touch.

The most prominent characteristic of an Untouchable is complete immunity to Psyker powers. Any Psyker (such as Psykers, Chaos Forces, Daemons, etc.) cannot use their Psyker abilities near them. The presence of an Untouchable is extremely painful for Psykers and can even weaken their abilities or cause extreme psychological discomfort.

Not only Psykers, but ordinary people also feel discomfort, fear, or physical aversion near Untouchables. This phenomenon is called "psychic repulsion," because ordinary human's potential perception of Psyker abilities is interrupted by the presence of an Untouchable, leading to psychological confusion and fear.

But Li Feng felt no discomfort at all at this moment... Could he also be an Untouchable? No, judging by how Commissar Cain and the other Soldiers treated him, he didn't seem like an Untouchable.
