Chapter 87 - Chapter 86: Target — Super Saiyan Second Stage

Summon the Dragon Again

Outside the base, within the desolate mountain ranges of Planet 79, four figures clashed at terrifying speed.

Upon closer inspection, all four were identical.

They were all Vegeta.

Multi-Form Technique.

This was a technique Vegeta had personally researched and refined, inspired by Tien Shinhan, Krillin, and Piccolo from the past.

However, Vegeta used it for an entirely different purpose—

To fight himself.

To temper himself.

To seek breakthroughs through absolute pressure.

With equivalent strength, one against three was already an extreme challenge.

After all, no one understood their own habits, instincts, and flaws better than themselves. Even one-on-one was difficult—let alone one against three.

And this type of battle had already occurred countless times.

Strength refinement.

Combat experience.

Tactical evolution.

Skill optimization.

In every aspect, Vegeta had made enormous progress over the past month.

"—BOOM!! BANG!!—"

Violent collisions erupted endlessly.

Shockwaves tore through the air, space itself rippling as if on the verge of collapse.

These were four Super Saiyans, each nearing one billion battle power.

The fact that Planet 79 still existed at all was proof of how restrained they were being.

Planet 79 was small—barely one-tenth the size of Earth.

Inside Base 79, even those already accustomed to Vegeta's power felt fresh fear every time they witnessed such battles.

Yes.

Fear.

Vegeta didn't need to terrorize anyone.

His existence alone was enough.

No one dared disrespect him—

And even less dared disrespect Bulma, their mistress.

"Damn it…!"

Vegeta's eyes burned with frustration as his dominant consciousness pushed itself to the absolute limit.

"Even under this pressure, it's still not enough?"

"Super Saiyan Second Stage… is it really this difficult to break through?!"

For the past month, this had been his sole objective.

Break through to Super Saiyan Second Stage.

Yet even knowing the future realms, even possessing knowledge beyond this era, he still hadn't grasped the key.

He could only explore blindly.

Step by step.

Trial and error.

Vegeta was not someone bound by convention.

During this month, he had even attempted transforming into a Golden Great Ape through the Great Ape route—twice.

The result?

Failure.

He couldn't even stabilize Golden Great Ape, let alone force a leap to Super Saiyan Fourth Stage.

Reality was cruel.

His strength was still insufficient.

His S-cells were far from the threshold required.

Those fanfiction fantasies—

Starting at Super Saiyan Fourth Stage and casually dominating the universe—

Were complete bullshit.

You haven't even broken through Super Saiyan Second Stage, and you're dreaming about Fourth?

Ridiculous.

Vegeta couldn't help but envy those transmigrators blessed with absurd systems.

Unfortunately—

He had none.

At least he was a Saiyan.

At least he was Vegeta.

Otherwise, the detours would have been endless.

"Letting your thoughts wander in battle is fatal."

"Focus."

"Power that isn't fully mastered is meaningless."

The three clones spoke in unison as their attacks intensified.

Vegeta snapped back to reality.

Yes.

If one brain wasn't enough—

Then three more would hammer the lesson in.

Shifting momentum, he forced one clone back, then released his aura explosively, blasting the other two away.

His experience against his own clones deepened.

Though the clones grew alongside him, the dominant consciousness adapted faster.

That was the advantage.

Of course, this didn't mean the clones were weak.

All four bodies were effectively the main body.

The only difference was which one housed the dominant consciousness.

If he wished, Vegeta could control all four simultaneously.

At his current mental level, that was already possible.

Just as the battle was about to escalate further—

A strange sensation surged from deep within him.

Vegeta halted instinctively and looked toward the star-filled sky.

This feeling—

It was familiar.

Very similar to the final message he had received from the Grand Elder before his death.

"…The timing lines up."

"The Dragon Balls have cooled down."

"This sensation… it's Porunga."

"After the last wish, some kind of connection was formed."

The four bodies spoke simultaneously.

Then, under Vegeta's control, they merged back into one.

Absorbing the battle feedback, Vegeta didn't hesitate.

He used Instant Transmission, returned to the base, and found Bulma.

The Dragon Balls had recovered.

And they had already been summoned.

Urged by Bulma, Vegeta took her with him and instantly crossed interstellar space back to Planet Namek.

Normally, after such training, Vegeta would enter healing fluid to recover and optimize gains.

But now—

There was no time.

Planet Namek

Porunga's massive, majestic body towered across the sky.

The Namekians had gathered beneath him.

Goku, Gohan, and Krillin stood at the forefront.

The moment the Dragon Balls cooled down, they summoned Porunga without hesitation.

Their goal was simple—

Revive everyone.

Prevent complications.

But when Porunga asked for the wish, hesitation crept in.

They didn't know how to phrase it.

Previously, Bulma always handled this.

Now she wasn't here.

Something felt… missing.

Their ideas were flawed.

Incomplete.

And at that very moment—

Vegeta arrived.

With Bulma.

Shock spread instantly.

Some were surprised.

Others—like Krillin and Gohan—felt tension spike.

They had planned to make the wish quickly, before Vegeta knew.

Now he had appeared—

Clearly intentional.

"He came for the wish…"

Their instincts screamed danger.

They turned to Goku.

In the past month, Goku had grown stronger again.

But could he really face Vegeta now?

"It seems we arrived just in time," Vegeta said calmly, arrogance etched into his smile.

Bulma ignored him, staring up at Porunga—then sharply at Goku, Krillin, and Gohan.

"You didn't want me involved, did you?"

She stepped forward, anger clear in her voice.

Awkward silence followed.

"That's not it, Aunt Bulma!" Gohan said quickly, glancing warily at Vegeta.

"We… didn't know how to contact you. The spaceship's systems are too complicated…"

Krillin added weakly.

It was a flimsy excuse.

Bulma snorted and turned to Goku.

Her gaze made him squirm.

"I told you from the start," Goku said honestly,

"we shouldn't hide things from Bulma. Vegeta isn't as bad as we imagined."

"And now that they're together… they're our companions too."

Krillin and Gohan flushed in shame.

Bulma's expression hardened.

"If you keep scheming like this, we won't be friends anymore."

Immediate apologies followed.

But Bulma didn't soften.

She wasn't the same person anymore.

Vegeta was now the most important person in her life.

And if anyone continued treating him as an enemy—

She would cut ties without hesitation.

For the first time in his two lives, Vegeta felt something profound.

Being defended.

Chosen.

Trusted completely.

It filled him with a deep, quiet satisfaction.

"Have you decided on the wish?" Porunga's booming voice interrupted.

"If not, I will depart."

The tension finally eased.

After a brief exchange of looks, Goku asked Bulma, "What do you think? We're debating who to revive first."

Bulma didn't hesitate.

"Why revive them one by one?"

"Can't you revive everyone who died on Earth at once?"

Porunga looked at her—then at Vegeta.

Recognizing him, Porunga nodded respectfully.

"With my current power, mass resurrection requires precise wording."

Vegeta understood instantly.

He stepped forward and spoke in Namekian.

Shock rippled through the group.

Krillin and Gohan froze.

They thought he had seized the wish.

Porunga nodded.

"Understood."

"Revive all living beings who died, directly or indirectly, because Vegeta and Saiyan Nappa arrived on Earth."

Stunned silence.

Krillin and Gohan felt shame burn in their chests.

They had misjudged him—again.

Vegeta wasn't the monster they imagined.

Looking back—

Everything that led them here was because of him.

They apologized sincerely.

Vegeta ignored it.

The wish was for Bulma.

And for gathering the main players.

Nothing more.

"The first wish has been granted," Porunga announced.

"You may state your second wish."

Moments later, King Kai's voice echoed—

Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, and Yamcha had been revived.

A new era moved forward.

And Super Saiyan—

Was still only the beginning.
