Chapter 2 - Another Life

Opening the door to his own room before heading straight to the large, comfortable bed clad in a pure white mattress, the young man closes his eyes as he pauses for a second, trying to recall from the back of his mind the identity that he once forgot.

Leon Argus von Draconia.

The sole successor to the Kyrios Empire's Ever-Burning Sword Dragon, his father, Arthur von Draconia, a first-generation earl whose title was earned solely from his overwhelming strength, rooted in his massive achievements on the battlefield, raising reputation and fame for him as he continues his ventures under the support of the Kyrios Royal Family.

Try as the young man might to live up to his father's reputation, though, he inherits only the heart, the will from the successful conqueror, as his own body is not that different from his deceased mother's sickly body, save for the same shade of great ashen for hair that he inherited from his father.

Recalling just how worse he had it in this body of his, Argus, instead of frowning in trouble, smiles, excitedly at that, as even when he knew how hard it is to live in a body like this, he is also well aware that in this world, there's always a solution to anything, and for his problem, the solution might just very well be at his hand right now.

'Those freaking bastards… who could've guessed that I would return here?' he thought to himself as his eyes revealed a sharp, suffocating intent tainting the air of the room heavily, before it disappears after a mere moment as he reins in the intensity of the emotions he is feeling for himself.

Closing his eyes once again, voices and visions of a final moment far from his current situation flood his entire mind, a moment that, while far too different from his current life, is a moment he experienced all the same.

Standing amidst towering mountains piercing beyond the very heaven itself, a young man wearing an eastern robe starts tall and straight amidst the large amount of people flying around him, all of them basked in divine or demonic light that seems to go beyond nature itself, a massive gathering of powerful people that one won't even see during an entire lifetime, and at the sight of this grand gathering of supreme, a raging intent filling the young man's vision and an extreme power surging across his every muscles, his every vein.

"Give it up! Xing Yuandao, there's a path to the heavens that you refuse to take, there's no path to hell but you hardheadedly try to barge in, look at where it got you!!"

"Stop talking to this monster!! This is divine punishment for all his sins!!"

"Monster!! You killed my brothers and sisters, you killed my master, now, it's time for you to suffer for all your sins!!"

Pointing all sorts of weapons towards his direction, the words the names they called him with, despite being different from the ones he was used to in this life, still made Argus smile as he clenched the sword in his hand harder than ever before, refusing to speak with the people surrounding him, as he is well aware that all will be for naught.

Lifting the sword as he moves it in front of him, the young man, with his jet-black, long hair flowing one with the wind, smiles as he directs his intent to fight towards the people around him, a sharp pressure pressing down on everyone around the high mountains, rendering some breathless from its weight.

"No remorse at all!! A junior like yourself should be given chance to repent, but seeing your demonic behavior, there's no need to hold back at all, fellow Daoists, this demon is a scourge that we need to get rid of!!"

Hearing a certain old, desolate voice from the crowd, Argus couldn't help but drown in anger as he recalled this very old man being the reason why all of this started, the trust he misplaced in the cunning old fox being his downfall, his secret, his treasure, being exposed to the world.

'Whatever, the man is guilty with the weight of his treasures…' he thought in his head to calm himself down, as he is well aware that he can't afford to have any kind of distracting thoughts in his current situation, a smile on his face as he opens his mouth as a way to lessen the wrath he is feeling.

"Shut the fuck up about these morals and all, filthy old coot, we've all seen through the nature of the world and we all know what it is that is happening today… you all trying to take everything away from me, and to make this trade fair, I'll take the company of most of you to my travel down the Yellow River…"

The young man smiles as the sword in his hand releases an azure glow, lightning and thunder roaring from above them shaking the witnesses to the core, and some of them even took multiple steps away from the source.

Some of the less fortunate ones however, never managed to grasp their chance to escape as lightning rages all across the mountain peak, burning through everything it touches, whether living or not.

"Those who wants to keep their lives for themselves after today, tuck your tails between your legs and feel free to leave, as for those who really thinks they stand a chance against me… well, die or die trying"

With a provoking smile on his face, Argus said with a powerful voice enveloping the entirety of the mountain and reaching beyond, making sure that there are people who bear witness to the fight happening beyond the clouds, his killing intent surging as he felt like he was approaching the very peak of his path during this battle with his life on the line.

Seemingly triggered by what the young man said, all the people around him starts directing their murderous intent towards him, surge of power starting to press down no him with such immensity that he couldn't help but feel weight bearing down his knees, and yet despite that, even this immense weight fails to make him bend as he stood as straight as ever, waiting for his enemies to attack.

"Centuries of fighting and honing oneself against the supreme of each path, three thousand paths converge into one, one shines the path to the endless… what can you people even do when I am about to cross that threshold?"

Muttering what outsiders can only consider nonsense as he swings his sword to harvest the lives of multiple people on the same level as himself, the young man speaks, his words causing his enemies' bodies to slightly shiver in hesitation before they managed to gather themselves together and continue charging forward, knowing full well that advance or retreat, the scythe of death is always just one step behind them now.

"You have yet to cross that realm, so what's the point of threatening us with the possibility??"

"He's right, Xing Yuandao, you might be the strongest Grand Dao Sage, but that's all you are!! You're still a Sage!! And there are thousands, if not tens of thousands of Grand Dao Sages here!!"

Another voice speaks as they come closer to the young man's location, completely intent on bringing the young man down for their cause.
