"You said your name is Togawa Fuuki? And you're the next heir to the Togawa Family?"
The white humanoid was startled, blinking its abstract eyes.
"What, you don't believe me?" Fuuki ignored the increasingly agitated currents in front of him and took another step forward.
"The men of the Togawa Family have been gentlemen for generations, acting openly and honestly, disdaining to lie to you."
Fuuki was telling a monumental lie with an air of complete sincerity, and even the White Snake beside him adopted a stern demeanor, as if he were a dark knight in a black bodysuit, upholding justice in the city.
Not to mention how many generations it had been since the main Togawa Family had a male heir, just one look from any normal person would reveal that his appearance was clearly not Asian, and his accent when speaking a foreign language even had a hint of London to it.
But currently, the only conscious person here was Fuuki, and then there was the automatic Stand that had just awakened its self-awareness.
A Stand capable of developing self-awareness on its own would undoubtedly possess growth potential that should not be underestimated. If given more time to grow and think, it would surely see through Togawa Fuuki's lies and achieve a further leap in its thinking.
But Fuuki would not give it that chance.
"You said your name is 'Daydream Cafe', right? Daring to openly state your name proves that you're not a savage completely incapable of communication."
"State your purpose. We're all intelligent people; being honest is far more efficient than beating around the bush!"
Fuuki suggested with a serious expression, and again moved a step closer to the opponent.
"Ha... you have a point. I'm a smart one, hmph hmph~"
Receiving praise from an outsider for the first time, the white humanoid's abstract mouth curved even higher, humming smugly.
But then its expression changed, and it looked at Fuuki warily, the white around its body rapidly dispersing outwards.
"But! Don't think I haven't noticed—you're using communication as a pretense to constantly approach me!"
"Look around you, Fuuki, the power of Chance has surrounded you!"
As a triumphant laugh rang out, wisps of white mist quickly rose from Fuuki's feet, enveloping him completely.
"Ha! From the moment I appeared, I've been continuously releasing Chance to cover the entire ground. The basement's lighting is already dim, so detecting my setup is difficult! Difficult! Extremely difficult!"
"So~ are you scared? Do you regret it? Now you are completely surrounded by Chance; every move you make, every action you take from now on, will be swayed by Chance!"
Daydream Cafe stared at the boy's face with wild delight, wanting to see his astonishment, his fear!
However, Fuuki's expression remained calm. He continued forward without hesitation, oblivious to the vast white mist around him.
This unexpected scene caused it to experience the emotion of 'terror' for the first time.
"No! This is impossible! Why are you perfectly fine!"
"You're clearly trapped deep within Chance!"
Daydream Cafe was astonished by this unexpected situation; trapped by the move it was so proud of, he could still advance unharmed.
It once again urged the white mist to gather, determined to impose all the Chance in the room onto Fuuki.
The vast white mist completely swallowed the boy's figure, but his steady voice still rang out clearly, unshaken.
"Trapped in Chance, so what?"
"A person's life is inherently filled with countless chances, but chance has never been an enemy."
"Success and failure, blessings and calamities, all bear the mark of chance, but it is never the deciding factor!"
"Shut up! Stop! Don't you dare come one step closer!"
Upon hearing Fuuki's heretical remarks, Daydream Cafe immediately flew into a rage, wishing it could personally manipulate Chance to plunge him into the most terrifying disaster, yet it was helpless.
It was well aware of its own limitations—as an automatic Stand, all its actions were geared towards achieving the goal set by its user.
And its target was Togawa Sakiko, and could only be Togawa Sakiko.
Upon encountering its target, it could project 'Chance' with a 'clear outcome' onto the person, continuously collecting existing chances in the environment to guide the target towards a predetermined outcome.
As long as Daydream Cafe remained hidden nearby and Chance accumulated, Togawa Sakiko would continuously encounter various accidents until she completely "disappeared"!
If it encountered interference from others along the way, it could also release white mist of Chance to deal with them. While it couldn't set 'outcomes' for other targets, it should be enough to clear obstacles for it.
But this scene before it caused a crack in the "confidence" it had held since its birth.
"Damn it, why haven't you encountered any accidents!"
"Why are you still expressionless!"
"Fall down! Break your leg! Break your arm! Twist your waist! Hit your head!"
"Fall down!!!"
Daydream Cafe suppressed the urge to retreat, it piously clasped its hands together, continuously spewing malicious curses, praying for disaster to strike, to quickly befall this man!
Finally, an anomaly occurred.
The golden hair on the boy's forehead was suddenly lifted by a current of air, and a hideous wound suddenly appeared on his brow. This wound seemed to possess life, rapidly spreading upwards and downwards, tearing Fuuki's face from the center line.
The next moment, Togawa Fuuki's head split into two out of thin air, like a watermelon smashed open with a baseball bat at a summer festival.
Disaster had finally arrived!
But Daydream Cafe's smile didn't last a second before it realized that the utterly dead Togawa Fuuki was still advancing, even maintaining the same pace as before.
"No, that's not him!"
"Disperse immediately!"
Daydream Cafe quickly dispelled the mist in front of it, finally seeing the truth in the dim light.
A tiny wooden splinter floated on the pool of blood, like a small boat, carrying the boy's shattered illusion.
Togawa Fuuki had created a "walking" illusion attached to the splinter, and that illusion was merely an empty shell, naturally able to sail on a "small boat" lighter than a toothpick!
And the white mist it released close to the ground had, ironically, become the best camouflage for this illusion!
"Then where is Fuuki? Where is he!?"
Daydream Cafe's confidence further crumbled, and at the same time, it tasted the emotion called [regret] for the first time!
It could have avoided entanglement with Togawa Fuuki, hidden in some corner of the Togawa Residence to accumulate power, and focused on achieving its goal. But the moment it saw Fuuki, it was unconsciously drawn by some quality about him.
Togawa Fuuki, this guy had an abnormal amount of 'variables' around him.
For some reason, 'Chance' was extremely scarce in Tokyo City, as if the entire city was just a large stage set, and everyone living there were puppets, moving according to a predetermined direction.
But Togawa Fuuki was different; every action he took generated a large amount of [Chance.] And it was precisely because of his existence that Daydream Cafe was able to grow so rapidly.
It realized that this boy held the key to its own growth, so in front of its target, it chose to "take a detour."
But in reality, this was merely deceiving itself, choosing a 'shortcut'.
Shortcuts are often fraught with peril, and the one it chose was deadly.
"Togawa Fuuki! Come out!"
Daydream Cafe's expression turned frantic; it recklessly jumped onto the butler's back, rapidly pouring the surrounding white mist into his brain through his seven orifices.
The electric light that had been emanating from the butler's side suddenly condensed, and violent dark blue electricity began to rage, its power surging, intensifying, skyrocketing!
"A moderate amount of Chance can confuse people, but an excessive amount of Chance can drive them mad!"
"Now, with his Stand ability, he's a ticking time bomb! Look at these wildly discharging currents! Even I don't know what will happen!"
As Ride the Lighting began to rampage, Daydream Cafe was also affected, its body bearing several scorched marks.
"Aren't you the next heir, Fuuki? Don't forget there are several innocent administrators in this basement!"
"Even if you survive this 'thunderstorm', what about them? You brought them here yourself, didn't you! How incompetent, do you even deserve to be a gentleman? Bah, disgusting!"
"I'll count to three! If you don't come out, I'll really detonate this poor butler. Then it might not just be this basement, but even the entire Togawa Residence that gets blown sky-high!"
"Hey! Maybe Togawa Sakiko is nearby, and I might just blow her up with it too! Wouldn't that also achieve my goal, hahaha!"
Madness and rage had filled the entire room, yet the boy's figure still did not appear.
The frenzy on Daydream Cafe's face froze, then turned into a sullen anger.
And this anger, it could no longer control.
It gripped the butler's head tightly, as if to release all the energy it had accumulated since its birth.
"One! Two—!"
"Stop pretending."
The boy's voice finally sounded, and the white humanoid also stopped its movements.
It slowly turned its head, finding that Togawa Fuuki had already appeared behind it.
At this moment, Fuuki was covered in faint purple steam, kneeling on the ground, with a long trail of blood beside him.
After the white mist rose, Togawa Fuuki immediately bent down, lying on the waxy body of the White Snake. Then he enveloped himself in the misty 'Erosion', and while the enemy was distracted by the illusion, he crawled along in places where the white mist was thin.
He had also suffered the calamity brought by Chance, his body covered in terrible wounds, and even a mark on his neck scorched by an electric current.
But he remained expressionless.
No roar, no ferocity, in absolute calm, Fuuki exuded an air of absolute coldness.
With just one glance, the white humanoid felt a bone-chilling fear.
"Your aura, your willingness to die, are all fake."
"Admit it, you never intended to die with me, otherwise, you would have let Ride the Lighting completely rampage the moment you heard my voice."
"You, who have just gained will, are more afraid of death than anyone."
The boy said calmly, in his opinion, the opponent's previous courage and resolve seemed to be nothing more than a farce.
A child's farce.
"You said... I'm afraid of death?"
The white humanoid showed a bewildered expression for the first time, asking in a murmur.
"Yes, more than anyone."
...Dead silence, a heavy dead silence.
Silence turned into a cold mist, freezing all the madness from moments ago.
Daydream Cafe lowered its head, the flickering electric light casting shadows deeper than ink on its face.
Togawa Fuuki slowly stood up, and the White Snake also transformed into a human form, standing beside him... "Three—!!!"
"White Snake—!"
Two voices rang out almost simultaneously, and corresponding to the desperate countdown was Togawa Fuuki's declarative command.
The White Snake's blade-hand precisely cleaved into Daydream Cafe's head, and the face outlined in ink was instantly branded with purple 'Erosion'.
At this moment, even though the white mist had filled the butler's body, the situation could no longer be changed.
That DISC pulsating with electric light was already clutched in Fuuki's hand.
