Rain poured heavily outside the hospital as Ella Harper finished her 14-hour shift. Her feet ached, her uniform clung to her skin, and her bank account held exactly $7.26.
She was about to leave when emergency doors burst open.
A man, tall and impossibly handsome even when unconscious, was rushed in on a stretcher.
Dark suit. Blood on his collar.
But what caught Ella's attention were his eyes — cold, deep, and watching her even in pain.
"Please," he whispered, grabbing her wrist. "Don't… let them take me."
Hours later, Ella forgot about him.
Until the next morning, when she stepped outside the hospital…
A black Rolls-Royce waited.
A suited man bowed and handed her a card.
"Mr. Alexander Frost requests your presence. He wishes to discuss… a marriage contract."
Ella froze.
Marriage?
