Chapter 11 - Chapter 9: Just for Tonight - Let Me Be a Fan

The green room buzzed with pre-show adrenaline. Wardrobe stylists made final adjustments. Managers whispered into earpieces. The boys bounced on their feet, practicing vocal runs or punching the air with excitement.

But Chan? He found you again. Always, he found you. You stood by the edge of the room, watching them all come to life like something holy. Your chest tightened—not with nerves, but with pride. When he reached you, his voice dropped low, intimate, just for you.

"You okay?" he asked, placing a steadying hand at your waist.

You nodded, smiling softly. "I am. But... I wanted to ask you something."

He leaned in. "Anything."

You hesitated, then looked up at him with eyes that shimmered under the dressing room lights. "Just for tonight," you said, "can I be a fan?"

He blinked, caught off guard. "A fan?"

You nodded again, voice full of emotion. "I've spent the last 24 hours feeling like I stepped into something wild and personal and real... but tonight? I want to scream for you. Cheer. Lose my voice. I want to watch you become the reason I came here in the first place."

Chan stared at you for a moment, like he didn't trust himself to speak. Then he leaned down until your foreheads gently touched. "You're not just a fan," he whispered. "You're the moment I'm singing to."

Your breath caught.

"But if you want to scream, scream," he added, pulling back just enough to meet your eyes again. "Lose your voice. Dance. Go crazy. But know this—" his voice dropped deeper—"I'll be looking for you. Every chance I get."

You smiled, heart pounding, lips parting to respond—

But the stage manager's voice cut through the room. "Five minutes! Final lineup!"

Chan pulled away slowly, fingers brushing yours one last time. "Go take your spot," he said, voice husky now. "You earned it."

You nodded, turning to head toward the backstage access ramp that led to the stage-level VIP zone. And as he joined his members for their final cue, he looked back—just once. Straight at you. Because tonight, he wasn't just performing for thousands of fans. He was performing for you.
