'What just happened?' Elizabeth was stunned at what she was looking at. Right in front of her were two suns illuminating her soul sea.
'Why do I have two soul cores?' Normally, people only had one soul core, after all, people had one soul, not two. Yet here she was, in possession of two.
'I really need to stop believing anything related to a divine aspect will be normal.' Nothing had been normal for her from the start, but at least she knew what was normal to be able to notice the change.
She inspected the suns closely and noticed three shadows orbiting the first sun, and she instantly knew what they were. They were her memories. One was a beautiful bow, the other a beautiful long sword, while the last one, the one she had received from killing Rethen, was a gold-like liquid floating around.
'I wonder what that is.'
It did not seem to be a weapon memory. It was most likely another tool type or a consumable. Whatever it was, she was quite excited to check out its runes, but just as she was going to do so, she noticed a fourth memory.
'Huh...that's strange. I had used three out of four of the fingers of Rethen, right? So why am I seeing another memory.'
She suddenly remembered that the spell had announced two times that she had received a memory. She focused on the fourth one, trying to figure out what it was, and her eyes widened when she did.
'It's my dagger?' It was the dagger she had used to distract Rethen before she dealt the final blow.
'But I thought it was not a memory.' She could not understand why it had turned into a memory in the end, and before she could ponder it any further, her soul core started to fade, and she was suddenly back in the void of stars.
[Awakening Aspect Ability...]
When she heard the spell say that, she could not help but get excited. Her innate ability was already great. What would her Aspect ability give her? She was already imagining how great and destructive her power would be, especially since they were of divine rank.
How would she apply it in combat, how powerful would she be, how...brightly would she shine with it?
[Aspect Ability acquired.]
[Aspect Ability name: Water Body.]
Her smile dimmed a little, but she did not despair. She instantly summoned her runes in all their totality.
Name: Elizabeth
True Name: Siren of the Last Haven
Rank: Dreamer
Heaven Cores: [2/7]
Fragments of Heaven: [71/2000]
'Huh, fragments of heaven?' The place where the amount of soul shards she had absorbed normally appeared had changed into fragments of heaven, despite having questions about it was not what confused her. It was her soul core rank, Monster.
As far as she knew, things that possessed more than one soul core were nightmare creatures, and depending on how many cores they had, they were ranked accordingly. Beast, one core, it being the lowest. Monster, two cores. Demon, three cores. Devil, four cores. Tyrant, five cores. Terror, six cores. Titans, seven cores, it being the highest class.
So she was surprised to see her core rank being similar to that of a nightmare creature.
That explained everything, was that why she had two soul cores?
'My Divine Aspect keeps on surprising me more and more.' Surely, there could only be more benefits to having more soul cores, especially since nightmare creatures became more powerful the more they had. She could not wait to explore it more in depth.
She shifted her eyes down.
Memories: [Pinkey of Rethen], [The King's Glory], [Drop of Ichor], [Last Hope]
Echoes: —
Attributes: [Split Spirit], [Siren of the Sea], [Spirited]
Aspect: [Avatar of Skies]
Aspect Rank: Divine
Aspect Abilities: [Water Body]
Aspect Ability Description: [You can turn your body into water at will. When near a source of water, you can absorb it to strengthen yourself.]
She looked at the memory section and noticed the name of the knife.
'Last Hope, huh.' It was a fitting name for the dagger, since it had been the key factor in her victory against Rethen.
She then looked at the Aspect ability's description. It was not as powerful as she hoped it would be, but it was not bad either. Being able to turn into water would make her intangible and immune to most things, and being next to a source of water would strengthen her.
Although she was the type of girl who liked to see things blow up or deliver devastating damage, she knew not to underestimate a Divine Aspect. She would need to test it out in order to learn more about its potential.
'Like my brother used to say, there is no weak aspect, only a weak user.'
She knew her aspect ability was not weak, especially since it was divine, but right now she could not think of many uses for it in battle.
[All power has a price.]
[You have received a Flaw.]
Elizabeth held her breath when the spell's voice rang out. This would determine her weakness, her very own Achilles heel. She hoped it would not be as devastating as some of the worst ones she had heard of.
And the moment of truth came a second later.
[Your flaw is: Tide Born.]
Flaw: [Tide Born]
Flaw Description: [Morning pulls you backward, turning you into a younger you. Midday stabilizes you into your truest state. Evening pushes you forward, leaving you as an echo of your future self.]
When she read the runes, she tilted her head in confusion, and it took a few seconds to truly understand the implications her flaw posed upon her.
'Well....this will be troublesome.'
For some reason, her flaw reminded her of one of the riddles of the past that was still famous even now.
What has four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs at night?
If her flaw was anything like that riddle, she would be in trouble, because if her age regressed back to being a toddler who could not walk by herself every morning, she would die when it was her time to go to the dream realm.
Hopefully, it was not like that. Anything but that.
If by sunrise she turned into a child, she would be left defenseless where even a dormant creature could kill her. Her mind tried very hard to think of anything that would help minimize the damage to her flaw, but at that moment, the spell spoke again.
[Wake up, Siren of the Last Haven, your nightmare is over.]
At that moment, she felt the surroundings begin to brighten up.

Side note
I feel like I didn't do a great job in explaining what her flaw well enough, I might revise the description later. Thank you for reading!
