Chapter 1 - 1. He cheated on me

I didn't know love until I met her. I thought I would fall out of love. I thought I would forget about her but I was wrong. It didn't happen.

It was morning.. Light rays were coming through the window. I heard sounds from the hallway. I stood up and in the hallway I saw my son James, drunk as a moth.

,,Father,,"

,,Look at the state you're in, James! Just because it's the weekend doesn't mean you have to be drunk every day! Where's Daisy?,,"

,,I broke up with her, father.. I couldn't stand it anymore,,"

,,Tell me what couldn't be stood? That she was with you despite what you are?,," I screamed out loud. I was extremely upset..

,,Daisy is poor! She doesn't even have a place to live. Her father kicked her out of the house and I don't want anything to do with someone like that," he said and walked away. I looked at my watch. I had an hour before University started. I wanted to talk to Daisy. She was my student. I wanted to know why they broke up.. My cell phone rang. It was Chris. My best colleague and friend.

,,Liam? I have to tell you something.. You know.. Today I saw a girlfriend, your son," he said.

,,They were ex-girlfriends. Today he told me that they broke up although I don't understand why. They made a beautiful couple," I said and in the meantime I put on my jacket.

,,She was on a park bench, Liam.. She was wearing only a blanket and shivering from the cold. I think she lives there. I didn't know if I should say.. Do you want the address?,,"

,,Send it to me in a text message,," I said and hung up. I slammed the door and went to the garage.. I didn't understand any of this. Daisy was the daughter of a famous producer. Why would she live on the street? It didn't make any sense.

Chris had sent me the address in the meantime.. The journey didn't take long.. Just a few minutes. It was in a park. I got out of the car and went to the park. It was cold. I could feel the frost. It was snowing outside. Christmas was coming. The most wonderful time of the year. I found her sleeping on a bench.. She was all covered with a blanket and snowflakes were falling on her face. I grabbed her forehead. She opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Daisy.. Tell me what are you doing here? It's cold. You're freezing here.. Why aren't you home?" I asked her. She looked away from me.

"I.. I don't have a home. Go away," she said and didn't even look at me. I grabbed her face. Only now did I realize what beautiful blue eyes she had.. Her gaze was so strange. I had the feeling that she was afraid.

"It's cold outside. It's below zero Daisy. You can't stay here," I said. I felt the cold all over my body. I was cold and I was wearing a jacket and she was only wearing a T-shirt and a blanket..

,,I'm fine here, I unbuckled her belt.. I picked her up again and went inside with her. I laid her on my bed and covered her with the duvet. I turned on the heating and went back to her. I held her forehead. She was cold..

,,James. No, no," she whispered in her sleep. She was generally restless. I sat down next to her and took her hand. I didn't understand how she could have gotten out into the street. Her father was a rich man. He paid for her University. Why did she go out into the street?

The hours passed and Daisy woke up. She looked at me. Her gaze was piercing and sincere.. She sat down on the bed..

,,I found you in the park. If I hadn't taken you, you would already be in the morgue. Will you tell me what you were doing there? That winter?,,

,,I have to go,,," she whispered and wanted to leave. I grabbed her hand and thus prevented her from leaving..

,,You're not going anywhere! Until you tell me what you were doing there and why you weren't home. And I'm also very interested in why you and James broke up. I have enough time Daisy,," I shouted loudly.

"Dad.. My father kicked me out of the house.. James cheated on me with my sister and.. I had nowhere to go. I had no.. And I can't even stay here," she muttered in a weak voice. Her look was strange.

"Why did he kick you out? You're his daughter.. Then you had to do something. If you want, I'll talk to him," I said. She stood up from the bed and looked at me with fear in her eyes. Her look was sad, almost fearful..

"I'm not his daughter.. I'm not their daughter.. I found out I was adopted.. They refused to pay for my University. I had nothing to do there. I'm poor. I have nothing.. Not even food," she whispered, tears streaming down her face. I sighed and went to her.

,,And James?,,"

,,He cheated on me with my half-sister.. I loved him and he hurt me a lot,,"

,,Daisy.. Sit down. We'll talk, but there's no way you can leave. It's cold outside. You have nowhere to go. I'm sorry.

"You know. Stay here," I said and pushed her hair out of her face. She looked into my eyes and sat down on the bed. I could smell her scent. I could feel her gaze. I thought it was over. I thought it was over but it wasn't. I still liked her. I still wanted her, despite the fact that she was with James.
