Chapter Fifty-Four – The scheme
Three days after Angel started staying with Zahid.
That day's afternoon moved slowly. The house was calm but not in an unsettling way, but to Angel everything was unsettling, she faced the struggle of not knowing her reality, but tried to keep it to herself, she didn't want to scare anyone, even her plan to grow with Zahid was put on a hold, she didn't know how to face him.
The Twins and everybody else were inside their rooms, while Angel, was in the living room, she stood near the living room window, folding a small blanket the twins had dragged out earlier. Her movements were slow, almost distracted. Her mind kept slipping, drifting back to the same thoughts she had been holding onto since the night before.
What is real.
What is missing.
She pressed the blanket flat and placed it neatly on the arm of the couch.
Behind her, footsteps moved through the house.
Natalie.
Angel did not turn immediately. She did not need to. She could feel her.
