Chapter Fifty Eight - Agreeing to Zahid's proposal
Angel woke up slowly, not because of noise, but because her body felt rested in a way it had not felt in a long time. The room was quiet. The curtains were half open, letting in soft morning light. It painted the walls in a pale gold color and brushed across the bed sheets. For a moment, she stayed still, staring at the ceiling, breathing in and out, listening to the calm.
This was the first morning she woke up without fear pressing hard on her chest.
The twins were still fast asleep.
Malik had rolled onto his stomach, one arm flung over his pillow. Mara was curled close to Angel's side, her fingers tangled in the fabric of Angel's shirt like she might disappear if she let go.
Angel's chest tightened gently.
