Chapter 1 - (Chapter 1) Prologue: Mysterious Murder

Deep within the night the ruler of the kingdom of Elandor, King Aurelius Dawnspire awakens. As he arises a shadow emerges from the darkness and it speaks. "King Aurelius, it's truly a pleasure to meet you."

The shadow says with a hint of sarcasm. The king responds, "Who.. are y-"

he's cut off after the shadow slowly reveals himself. "It can't be... Its you."

Nothing more is said. The following morning maids knock on his door but there isn't an answer. Impatient, one of them decides to open the door. Within the room was the king, but only his head remained. The entire room scorched with blood and organs. The maid, in panic, screams alerting the other residents of the palace. This including the young prince, 17 year old Albion Dawnspire. Albion quickly rushes towards the maid's direction sword in hand ready to defend and to kill but to his to his surprise she wasn't being attacked. "No. Father... This can't be."

He quickly turns to the maid to question her. "What do you know." The maid responds, "I know nothing Sir Albion, I was just checking in on Master Aurelius but he didn't respond so I had to check if he was alright but.."

Albion accepts her answer understanding her position. "That's enough, thank you for the help miss."

She looks down, "I'm sorry for your loss, Sir Albion"

he puts a hand on her shoulder "I can't sit here forever in grief, I must move on."

He walks away. He quickly alerts the other residents of the Palace and the place gets checked out. Albion though, he goes back to his room. He sits on his bed not aware of how to process this. He thinks of the times his father had trained him to wield a sword. The times he told him legends of the previous kings. Now they were all just distant memories. "My father was a great man... I won't accept anything less than justice for him. The man who murdered must perish, that is my one and only goal from this day forward, that Is my oath," He says as a singular tear falls, this tear was not created from sadness though, but it was created out of anger towards his father's killer. Justice and revenge filling him. He unsheathes his sword and makes a cut on his own wrist drawing blood this blood being shed upon his oath. The blood spills before he treats himself with a bandage and exits his room. Determination sparkling in his eyes. "I must find out who did this."

Albion is headed for the head Minister's office where he should currently be stationed. The head minister is a very important figure within the kingdom of Elandor, he is the 2nd most important right under king Aurelius. The kingdom of Elandor itself relies on the Council of Ministers. King Aurelius did make certain decisions but a vast majority of decisions that are important to the kingdom we had to rely on the Council for. Lucius leads that council. But that's not his only job. He is also the one and only judge. Albion finally reaches his office where Lucius greets him but in a serious tone "Good morning Albion, I was actually going to begin looking for you in just a second."

Albion replies "What for, Sir Lucius?"

Lucius continues with a serious tone. "I presume your aware of your father's murder?"

Albion nods, "yeah, actually that's what I'm here for. I came to talk to you about the situation."

Lucius continues, "well, here we are. So what do you want to know Albion?"

Albion quickly replies but with a slight hint of anger in his voice, "I'd like the know what you know about my father's death. Anything that can be a lead to his killer or anything of the sort."

Lucius responds, "unfortunately I don't know much, it's obvious that the person who killed him had a reason to do this and was able to easily get inside the castle, unless they were already in here."

Albion looks at him surprised, "What? Are you saying that it could've been one of our very own residents."

Lucius continues, "I'm just saying it's a possibility that's all. Anyways, we'll try to do everything we can, you'll just have to sit back for now."

Albion acknowledges the situation, "alright, I understand. Bye Lucius."

Lucius smiles, "I'll let you know if we get any new leads or anything."

Albion nods. As he walks back to his room he sees a man who he guesses is just a resident but he's hiding his face. He doesn't think anything of it for now but thinking back he remembers the smell of blood. He quickly head towards Lucius's office where that man was headed. But what he finds is Lucius completely tore apart. Albion could tell who did it with just one look. It had to be his father's murderer. Unfortunately for Albion coming back was a grave mistake as he was seen by the guards who were coming this way Albion's sword being drawn at this moment, "Prince Albion, how could it be you?"

Still in shock from Lucius's murder he was taken away without second thought or even a bit of protest from Albion.
